Does anybody else have a problem with this game staying unlocked? I have to re-unlocked the game everytime I start it up because it starts up in the locked demo mode. I have deleted the game and dowloaded it multiple times and that has not solved the problem. I am just wondering if I am just having bad luck or if this is a common issue with this game.

are you on your second xbox or something becuase that usually happens to people with a xbox 360 and a different hard drive.

yea this happens to me also and yes it is on my second 360 but all the other games work perfectly just this 1

Same here. All of my other XBLA games and dlc work fine and don't have this problem. On the XBLA list on the dashboard the game shows up as the full version, but once I start it up it switches to the demo version till I manually unlock it. I guess this is no big deal, just adds a couple extra steps to starting up the game. I am just curious why it does this with this game and no others.

I'm having this problem too.  I have two 360s and it seems to work fine on the one I purchased the game on but when I take my HDD over to my other machine I have to unlock it everytime.  I have also had trouble with it not saving even after I have unlocked the game.  This is the first game I have had trouble with.

Yes, when you are playing the game on a console other than the one it was originally purchased on, you have to select "Unlock Full Game" from inside the game every time you start it up.

 

This is a bug, and has been reported to the correct people.

 

So far, it appears to just be an annoyance.  If anyone runs into any loss of game data or other similar problems, please make sure to bring it up, as that makes it more serious of a problem.

I have the same problem... will someone please report this to the right people?! D3 Publisher, Microsoft, etc. I'm so sick and tired of these idiots not including DRM bullcrap in their test cases when they test these games.  Carcassonne and Crystal Quest also fail miserably in this department.  The quality control is appalling.

I urge you all to contact support@infinite-interactive.com and  info@d3p.us  explaining this issue and asking them to correct it.  I also contacted Major Nelson, major@xbox.com.    Here is what I said:

Dear Infinite Interactive and D3,

 
            Please issue a patch for Puzzle Quest XBLA on 360 immediately, because the game insists on staying in Trial Mode for any gamer profile that has purchased the game, yet is trying to play the game on a 360 different from the one the game was purchased on, either it due to being a second console in the house, or because the original console was replaced due to malfunction etc.  This is the only XBLA game that behaves this way under this scenario.  People have been reporting this problem both in the Infinite Interactive and Xbox.com forums.  Something must be done quickly if we are to continue to support your companies' products.

Quick update, the developers have been made aware of this issue. But they are blaming Microsoft.  They are going to meet with Microsoft to figure it out. Hopefully, it will be patched soon but we need to make it clear that we will not stand by while they forget about us.  It's a bug, it can be fixed.

Imagine I was unaware of this and defeated the two headed Ogre ona second console. It said I needed to purchase the full game to get achievements. I redownloaded at that point but didn't get the achievement. Guess I've got the start the thing all over again. These kind of bugs should be tested.

Was able to Choose opponent and defeat the ogre again. It then gave me the achivement.

IT's NOT just This Game!!!!

 

Double Dragon does this for me. This game does not.

 

It's an xbox issue, not software specific.

Actually, it is software specific to certain titles. This has been well proven.  Please don't confuse the issue.

just chiming in with the same problem.

bought it and started playing it on an xbox 360 in living room, and save to a Memory Unit. move the MU to a 360 in the bedroom and it asks to unlock the full game each time.

i would think these sorts of scenarios would be tested?

I actually agree to some extent that this IS a fault of Microsoft. Microsoft only allows you to transfer your PURCHASED media ONCE to a new machine. I have hundreds of dollars invested in the Marketplace now, and if anything happens to my current Xbox or if I ever want to replace it, all my money will be wasted and MS openly admits that you have to re-purchase everything. This is ROBBERY in my opinion, and sounds like a future class action lawsuit to be honest. (PLEASE COMPLAIN ABOUT THIS TO ANYONE WHO WILL LISTEN)

Had Microsoft not implemented this ridiculous policy, we would not be having this issue with Puzzle Quest. THat said, all the other developers figured out a way around this, so its both Microsoft AND the developers fault.

Just chiming in that this happened to me too. My system's my original but it was sent in for repairs (three red lights). I even lost saved data.

Wow, this means that Microsoft just did a data transfer for you (you shouldnt have lost all your saves though!). I guess you're in the boat all us other 2nd system owners are in. Try this test... disconnect the Ethernet cable or your wireless adapter and try to play a few of your Live Arcade games. If you cant play them, then you have to be logged into Live to have the system check your ownership privileges. Once you do a data transfer, you can't play any software that you BOUGHT unless you are online. I would call back Microsoft and complain, but insist on speaking to a manager right away (the 1st tier support are useless 90% of the time).

Same thing here. Bought it on my original Xbox, had used my HDD on my friend's 360, just got a new 360 back from MS (3 red light deal), and when I played PQ I had to manually unlock the game. No data loss though. Havent had any problems with any purchaced content on other 360 (so far) but I havent really been looking for it either. When I get back to my 360 (gone for turkey day) I'll look at my other purchased games.

Getting the same problem following my console replacement after getting 3 red lights. Only problem is, I manually unlock the game before playing, but it still tells me I have to get the full game to get the achievements :(

Just got my 2nd xbox after my first RROD on me and now I have this issue.  Is there a work around to this?  If I delete everything and start over will that fix the issue?  I don't want to continue the character I have if I cannot get any more achievements for it.

My original 360 broke, and now I have this problem as well on my new one. Everytime I start up Puzzle Quest it is stuck in demo mode even though I purchased the full game.

Guys, its not rocket science, just go into the game, go to Downloads menu (IN the game), and re-download the full game from the game itself every time you play.  It takes only seconds and then you're home free with the unlocked version.

They're aware of the issue and SAY they will fix it... but it could be months.   Man I hate this DRM scheme, a subscription scheme like Zune Pass would be so much better.

Hope some one can help me.
I sent my xbox to get fixed got it back today.
Went to play this i had the full version says i only have the demo.
So i downloaded again but still says i have the demo i dont want to delete then download as i was on lvl 29 can any one help
