Re: 2 dumb questions
it comes out on the 30th and yes it will have lag like DOA4 when played online but hopefully it wont play to bad.  im sure it wont play to bad since VF5 wouldve been released months ago but sega needed more time to make sure VF5 would be playable online.  i just cant wait to play version C.

Re: 2 dumb questions

and please bare in mind that lag is almost always a factor in any online game.

and also there are ways to reduce the lag in a game.  make sure you check your connection rate with the other player when finding a match.  xbox live always has a list of games you're searching for.  and in that list, next to the names of the different players, you'll see a small graph, meter, bullet, or whatever, that'll tell you how much lag (if any) you should expect from playing in a game hosted by that particular player.

other games such as Halo 3 has options to simply search for games, search for games hosted by people speaking your language, or (which is more important for me) search for games with the best connection rate.  it dosent show a graph, it'll simply find the better connections automatically.  then you'll see the connection rate between the individual players when their names are listed before you start play.

all in all, you should always expect some latency when dealing with online play, but the quality of that connection is determined by YOU.

Re: 2 dumb questions
yes and try to play people closer to where you live.  the farther someone is the more lag will affect the game.  lag is in every online game but it affects games like fighting games more games like first person shooters.  a game that is based on frame rate like VF5 will definently be affected by lag but im sure sega will do its best to give you the best possible VF5 online experience.

Re: 2 dumb questions
i know people who are already reviewing the game that say the online play on VF5 is as good as it can be.  not only that but im sure sega will release a patch if it isnt.  ive also heard the game plays better online if the person your playing lives closer to you rather than far away.  i hope not to many matches arent decided by lag or VF purists are going to say VF5 isnt any good online.

but do u think any one gonna buy this game tho to think bout it really. yeah the closer the better but it all really depends on speed for example if you had 20 MB and i had 20MB that it be even no matter how far the person is really. some people have slow connection but can i ask you sumthing do you have wireless network ?

Re: 2 dumb questions
i dont have xbox live i wish i did though.  my wife would probably kill me if i started playing games online.  i already play enough games with my friends as it is.  i am glad however that sega is finally taking the steps to take VF5 online since all other fighters are going that way.  they couldnt have chose a better system eithter in my opinion because microsoft has the best online service of the 3 console companys currently on the market.

sorry but i have to go be back in a few hrs.  i have to go to the gym practice my muay thai and wrestling with a 6'3 205 lbs monster.  im 5,9 and 170 oh boy good thing hes my friend.  between me and you im the better striker but when we when it comes to wrestling oh course he kicks my ***.  my brother is better than us both at jiujitsu though.  alright be back in a few.  take care everyone.

I'm pretty sure international latency will ruin the game if youre playing someone very far away, no matter how fast your connection is. I wish everyone would copy Nintendo and allow you to search for games in your region! Living in Australia, some games are just impossible to play online unless you do it with people you know/invites/etc. I havent tried VF5 online yet (I am scrub tier) but hopefully its okay and allows you to refuse bad connections.
At least we finally get a game first for once (I've been playing it all morning).

they see me rollin'

you lucky bahstud.  as our governor of california would say.  yes im also pretty sure international latency might mess up the game.  it is better to play someone who is near you oppose to far away.
