I am not really a big fan of these type of posts, but it kind of customary for one to come up once a game has been completed.

Actually, I would like to take a moment to discourage anyone who is actually attempting the endurance test of 5000 rank kills. If I had any sense at all, I wouldn't have attempted myself.

In my opinion, this achievement is completely unneccessary and has no place in an XBLA achievement set (right up there with Bejeweled's endless mode). Anyways, if you are a Xbox live arcade nut and hardcore completionist like myself, then by all means give it a shot, but there are funner games out there in which one could better spend his or her time.

On a side note, there was plenty of boosting involved in obtaining this achievement. However, out of courtesy to the BSG contest, I was sure to steer clear of the singles Deathmatches.

 

 

 

Wow, congrats.  I doubt I'll ever get that 5,000 kills ach, and coming from me that's quite a statement. :-/  There isn't an easy way, is there?  Did you just have to spent 20 hours boosting and shooting pilots?

Sorry, but there is no easy way around it. One of the hardest parts is finding someone who will actually boost with you over the many, many hours it takes.

But who knows, one day someone might find a glitch that will save loads of time.

If nobody boosted in BSG, then the only people that would obtain 200 in this game would be the hackers. Sorry, but I would rather have boosters on the xbla leaderboards than hackers.

 

I try not to boost when it can be helped, but I will not lie and say I don't.

 

So, I admit myself into this so-called "Noob school for boosting". I don't know how I will go on living.

 

Yes.  Hang your head in shame for getting achievements the non-Al13n-approved way.

Possibly the only achievement where boosting is a requirement??

Currently Playing - Gears of War 2, Prince of Persia & Halo Wars.

No, definitely not.  The "versus" achs in Joust and Robotron require boosting.  And there are probably many games where you need to "boost" just to find people to play (try finding 3 others to play Word Puzzle with, for instance ).

I can never find a game and when I host my own I can sit there forever flying in circles waiting for someone to join.

Just give me a time and I'll be there.

Im looking at getting a large group of people together for some team deathmatch, no boosting, but if we make it a regular event then we all can get all the achievements with a little hard work.  So send me a message if your interested and we can coordinate something.
