Well I tried to enjoy COD4 on-line multiplay, but couldn't. I'm back to COD3 - it's simply more challenging and fun.
COD4 has problems. It's graphics and audio are great - I don't even mind using modern weapons (Like the WWII weapons better). It just has to many problems and limitations. I like playing with friends, but not only on my team. COD4 friends may only play team games and be on the same team. That sucks - now I can't T-bag my friends, were's the fun? God, what good is having friends if you can't T-bag them.
They should not have change the game so much. They should have just changed the weapons and left the kits and multiplay alone.
Check out my link in the COD4 forum. I believe you will see why more players are go to jump back to COD3.

For all the peolpe who love COD4, in case you think I didn't give it a chance; whenever I play I placed either 1 through 4 no matter what size the lobby; unless there was really bad lag and targeting problems.
Long Live COD3
Finally, someone who thinks the same about COD4's multiplayer!
I have gone through countless threads over in the COD4 forum and those people will become downright vicious and nasty if you so much as mention COD3.
I've been playing COD3 for almost a year now and have been gaming since the very early 80's when the original Atari was popular. I've been around the block a few times when it comes to gaming. I've gone through just about every game console from the Colecovision, to the Intellivision to the original NES to the Sega Genesis. You name it, I've played it. When it comes to gaming, I know my stuff.
COD3 has probably the best multiplayer I have ever played and I just don't get the arguments that the people in the COD4 forums use. Mostly they just insult you and bash COD3 as a horrible game. And they offer no real solid arguments as to why they think that. They just lash out.
Their rudeness is some of the worst behavior I've ever seen in any internet forum. Out of 50 people responding, maybe one or two will actually put up a good argument either for or against COD3 and COD4.
Someone there mentioned that COD3 was more of "the thinking person's game" whereas COD4 is pretty much just run & gun.
I totally agree with that.
COD3 does require you to play very differently and I feel that it does take more skill. (my opinion of course)
When I first started playing COD4 multiplayer, the first thing I thought was, "Dang, everybody's awesome at this game." And I didn't think that in a good way. How could everyone be so good at a game that has been out for a week or so?
It's because COD4's multiplayer has been severely dumbed down. Anyone can pick it up and rack up kill after kill. It's because of the automatic weapons and the small map layouts.
You couldn't do that in COD3. In COD3, it took time to get good. And I felt proud when I got better and better at it with the different weapons. When you won a game in COD3, you felt a surge of triumph because you worked together with your team to get the win.
I don't feel any of that in COD4.
Don't get me wrong, COD4's single player kicks butt. It's the multiplayer that's severely lacking. There is no more teamwork, it's pretty much every man for himself just trying to kill the enemy.
Can I join the club?
COD3 owns!
If COD4 had been made by Treyarch rather than IW people would hate it.
It's not a bad game, there are some very good bits, but they Halo-ised it a little bit too much for my liking. 10 rounds at 250 yards to drop someone with an M4? Absurd.

yeah because people who don't like the game aren't allowed in
I thought the same as you for quite a bit but the more I play it the more i'm getting into it.
I could of screamed when I found no medic option though because call of duty 3 seemed to be much better at creating a team atmosphere.

You are absolutely correct. I posted a objective forum in COD 4 and there were no aguments against it; just insults and some people who agreed. I am still playing COD4 hoping that it will get better, but it doesn't. Like you said there is no team play.
I personally prefer the COD3 single player to COD4. The AI is just stupid. The cut scenes are great in 4 but that's not gameplay. It might be the whole modern thing that doesn't work for me I don't know, I can't get my head around it.
Your right about team play 3 was great for this. Medics, people going in as a team and my personal favourite SCTF, where everyone would help advance foward with the flag. Oh the good old days.
I want to be a closet member of the club.
I only play COD4 now, but COD3 had a certain charm that I can't get with Our Teh Infinity Ward games. IW is great, Trayarch needs some better single player, but online I really like COD3. I've had some of the most amazing clan matches and battles on COD3. COD4 is coming along nicely, but COD3 is always going to be one of my all time favorite online games.
I hope that Trayarch does give us more COD games.

COD 3's single player was really bad. I tired going through it on Veteran but I stopped halfway. I was to tired of being shot through walls and objects and just randomly dying for no reason. I tired shooting this guy through some grass I was proning in, and it would just hit right in front of me, yet the AI can just shoot right through it, pretty lame if you ask me. COD 3 had a fun multiplayer and single player but I perfer COD 4 over 3.
That's fair enough. Never experienced it myself as I know from many years of gaming that there is a certain area in which you can shoot from. What I mean is if you go prone then it limits your shooting range. This doesn't just happen in COD3 it happens in lots of other games. Where for instance you can't even shoot through a fence lol. What I would have recommended was for you to take cover or maybe hang back a little rather than try to take on guys who you can't shoot but I understand what you are saying. Personally what you said I would apply to COD4. The enemy AI just seem to know when you pop your shoulder out from a mile away for some reason. Even if it is the first time they have seen you. Not to mention the fact that they just stand there. But I respect your opinion.

I'm not a fanboy at all and in general if IW had made a game which I/we(we being those who prefer COD3) felt was better than COD3 then I/we would prefer it. As it stands COD3 beats 2 and 4 for me so technically that puts Treyarch on top. There is nothing there that can class someone as a fanboy.
