Both Bioshock and Mass Effect kept me riveted; Even well past their conclusions. It was difficult to put the controller down because of the fantastic stories that each Intellectual Property weaved. Choosing just one of these two Divine games almost seems criminal, but my vote goes to
Bioshock.
Bioshock is a masterpiece worthy of comparison to classic Twilight Zone and Alfred Hitchcock. Big Daddies, Little Sisters, Splicers and those handy plasmid injections are all delightfully wicked! The claustrophobic danger of an environment such as Rapture, an undersea "Wonderland" gone awry creates great suspense and tension.. The characters, and the great voice work deliver snippets of this superb story subtle piece by piece, never too obvious or blunt. All these components compel you to keep playing after the gorgeous graphics have caught your eye. The AI, interactive environment, and overwhelming tools of destruction at your disposal truly make Bioshock a gaming experience that won't soon be forgotten. This is how all new Intellectual Properties should be handled if we were to be so lucky.
Would you kindly play this game if you haven't already?Mass Effect takes everything I've ever loved about Bioware's best works, puts them all together, and delivers them on a grand new stage. Saving the Universe certainly isn't a new concept in video gaming, but Mass Effect delivers this premise in such an astounding manner that you really feel like you've taken on your role as Humanity's "
Jack Bauer". From the choices you make, to the company you keep, to the engaging ranged combat system, to exploring uncharted worlds in your 'Mako' rover vehicle, this game truly delivers some fascinating gameplay scenarios. This game also has very high replay value; You won't be able to experience everything in just one runthrough, and there are even some keen perks awarded on your subsequent playthroughs.
...and what can I say about those blue alien women!!!!!!??? Come on, everyone's got a little Capt. Kirk in them from time to time
