Sequel is to arrive sometime next year
It's real. It seems that the majority of the West won't embrace this game, but that's not going to stop G.Rev from making a sequel! XD

Yeah, it's only announced for the arcades, but then again, since G.Rev did decide to port the first part of this series to the Xbox 360 and based on their release patterns with their previous games (they always choose to stick to one home system for releasing their arcade ports), there's a good chance that the second one will also see a home on Microsoft's console.

Great news. I do hope it gets a 360 port as well. I'd also like to see their other new game get a 360 release eventually.

That'll most likely arrive on the 360 as well, since Sega stopped GD-ROM production sometime this Februrary (no GD-ROMs = no more Dreamcast discs), so it'll have to be sent to another console if it'll see a home port.

Well, looks like Cuilan is going to be in it, so I'm already satisfed. Didn't think he could look any hotter, but I'm glad G.Rev proved me wrong.

I personally don't like Changpo's new costume, since her old one was more unique.

Looks like new info will be shown at the upcoming AM Show (Taito booth). The official title was changed to "Senko no Ronde DUO".

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080912/ronde.htm

The main site was also updated :

http://www.grev.co.jp/ronde2/

Prior to this update, I noticed that G.rev had changed the game's platform from "Naomi" to "Undecided" at some point. Since it's being shown at Taito's booth, I think it's safe to assume that it'll be on the Type X/X2. If that's the case, then my guess is that they'll reuse/enhance the engine from the 360 port, since the Type X/X2 should be fairly close to the 360 in terms of coding. This would also make a port back to the 360 even easier.

I'd expect Senko on Ronde DUO's arcade release to be close to the end of 2008 at the earliest/early 2009 at the latest. If it's released within that timeframe, I wouldn't be surprised if the 360 port is released in Q4 of 2009.

Also, that new pic of Cuilan is hot. Big Smile [:D]

Lol again with the Cuilian? Sweet, a sequel!Party!!! [<:o)] I kinda hate my friends who still don't get what's going on in this game. Simple, move, shoot, block and B.O.S.S.mode. How hard can that be? Will they add an eject button to this game?Stick out tongue [:P]

I'll miss Lili.

I hope Ubisoft will bring it over here, but looking at the sales in the US version, i hardly doubt it. I just hope the japanese version is region-free then.

Yes indeed. I like pink haired chicks don't know why(kinda kinky if you ask me)?Huh? [:^)] As long as you can read the menus and story lines in english I'm all in! Because for some weird reason the first time I popped in the game it was in Japanese, luckly I eventually figured out how to make it comprehendable. Imagine if they had english dubs for this, god it'll sound horrible! Sorry I shouldn't have mentioned it.Stick out tongue [:P]

Looks like the AM Show is going on right now. The main site was updated yet again. This time, it shows a pic of Lev and what I assume to be his Rounder. If that's what the Rounders are going to look like this time, I must say I'm loving what I see.

When you click "ENTER", it shows the instructions for the version being demoed at the AM Show. Taito Type X2 confirmed, 3 characters are playable, a barrage button was added (C Button), you can choose a "partner" character that will modify 3 of your stats (Attack/Defense/Technical), pressing S+C will perform a special attack that depends on the partner you choose, you can now use a partner-specific Bomb attack while your enemy is in BOSS mode (A+M+S, same as BOSS), and from the screenshots it definitely looks like a more polished Rev.X engine.

If the 360 port doesn't get released outside of Japan (which seems likely to me), it is 99% certain that it will be region-locked. What that means, is that the game will not work at all on 360 systems that are not NTSC/J (Asia/Japan).

Use bomb against boss should be fun~
I'm really looking forward the new Special approach which able to withstand some enemy's shooting attack, just like the barrier dash in Psychic Force, it may make the melee part much more intreasting than Senko1.

Site has been updated again. Large in-game screenshots were added.

http://www.grev.co.jp/ronde2/index2.html

Also, pics of the new Rounders can be seen here (scroll down a bit).

http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20080919/taito.htm

From left to right : Vatzmaal(?), Citronette ST, Azureus DMR

Looks like all the Rounders might be getting a facelift. They look fantastic so far. I'm getting a strong Fei-Yen vibe from Citronette ST, heh.

I found a handfull of vids up on nicovideo. You either need an account to view them, or you could use this site http://www.mmcafe.com/nico.html

It is beautiful.

Hmm...according to G.rev, SnRDUO is only about 15% complete right now. Looks like it'll be more likely for it to be released next year then.

Thanks for sharing. This is indeed beautiful. I see the beams being more luminous. The melee clashing is awesome.

The gameplay seems faster too, those bullets shoot quite fast, and the movement is quick.

And the presentation is overall more fast too. Maybe because the arcade has fast loading compared to the 360's senko1.

Is it me or does one of the partner look like a short-haired Karel. I'm not talking about the playable girl (or is it guy?) who shares the same name who is related somehow. I'm talking about the partner with glasses. he has the same unfriendly eyes.

The fourth movie is my favourite one. It shows how fast-paced the gameplay is.

The names of the partners are as follows :

Katie Xia Xue Juan (girl with black hair)
Dixie Dutilleux (girl with pink hair)
Itsuka (guy that looks like Karel. I can't make out the last name, but it's not him)

If Ubisoft picks this up I would be forever grateful! Maybe with some better marketing so they will EARN money from it ;)

Duo looks much faster than the original from those videos. I wonder why Sakurako isn't a regular playable character :( ?

That would be nice if they gave it a second chance, but I really doubt they will. This is of course assuming the sequel gets a 360 port. It's very likely that it will, but still, you never know.

Ideally they would release it in Japan REGION FREE. I don't understand why they don't for niche games like Idolmaster, Raiden Fighters and other games that don't stand a snowball's chance in *** getting licensed in the US.

Ideally, yes. But Microsoft wants you to buy a Japanese 360.

The AOU Show is coming up (2/20/09), and it looks like Taito will be showing new footage of SnRDUO. On the AOU website, it says the game is expected to come out sometime in 2009. I hope we hear what % of it is complete now.

Ok, so the AOU Show came & went, and I haven't heard anything new about SNRDUO anywhere. The 2 most likely reasons for this are that either : Taito/G.rev canceled what they were planning to show, or they didn't say/show anything new. I'm guessing the latter. Oh well, we'll just have keep waiting.

However, G.rev's other game (the one I mentioned earlier in the thread) will in fact be getting a 360 port, according to the latest issue of Famitsu. The port is scheduled to come out this June. More info about what it will have :

Story Mode

Better Graphics

Tate Mode (vertical screen rotation)

New Characters via DLC

LE will be available (includes OST and a strategy guide)

Regular = 6,279Y / LE = 8,925Y
