I have been trying to up my score in marathon. Im looking for tips on what combination or line clears i should be doing to maximize my score. I have mostly been doing nothing but tetrises but i cant seem to come near were i need to be to get a higher score.  My current high is 691000 but every time i try to beat that i cant seem to get past 670000. Any help would be welcome.

To maximize your score you should probably try doing back to back T-spins as well as tetrises.

Nope, that won't work. Splash has a variable goal system. That means that the higher number line clears remove more lines from the line count than they actually remove from the play field. Here's the breakdown:

single : -1 from goal, 100 ponits
double: -3 from goal, 300 points
triple: -5 from goal, 500 points
tetris: -8 from goal. 800 points
t spin (no line clears): -4 from goal, 400 points
t spin single: -8 from goal, 800 poins
t spin double: -12 from goal, 1200 points
b2b bonus: -0.5 x the line clear used, 0.5 x line clear used for points

Now the points value for each move is on level 1. To get what each woud give you multiply the action by the level.

So this would mean Tetris > T-spin double combo back to back would produce the highest possible score?

When you perform a double T-spin prior to leveling up, i.e. with one line to go, Splash only subtracts 1 line from the goal. An effective technique to get a higher score is to perform a Tetris with 9 lines left to clear the level, then do a double T-spin to get the back to back bonus. That should be combined with hard drops and single line combos throughout the game.

not to be annoying, but I didn't understand a word any of you said
I don't know what a back to back bonus is or any of that nonsense.

A back to back bonus is when you do 2 tetrises or t~spins without any line clears in between.

Ok, say I'm on level 15. A tetris will be worth 12,000 points. (A tetris has a bas score of 800 points. Multiply that times the level that you are on. 800 x 15 = 12,000) Now if you drop 2 tetrises without any line clears between them, you get a back to back bonus. The bonus for doing that is .5 times whatever line clear you used.

2 tetrises by themselves on level 15 would be 24,000 without the back to back bonus. With the back to back bonus it would be 30,000. 1st tetris would be 12,000. 2nd tetris would be worth 18,000 with the back to back bunus.

Maybe I'll start to work on a 'higher marathon score' video for youtube.

do I have to do t spins for a good tetris score because I can do them but not all the time,also I had a great game and thought my score would be higher I had 55 tetris's and only a few lines I didnt get for a tetris and my score was only 670000 

 

You don't have to do t~spins. You could use the method above, but instead of the t~spin/tetris b2b combo use two tetrises. You just wouldn't be able to get the most points if you did it like that. I am going to be making a video regarding higher marathon scores to hopefully help people if they don't quite get it in words. Going to start capturing some footage in a few minutes. I'm not sure how long it's going to take to get together though. Need to learn how to actually edit my vids.
