OMG, i'm amazed, i didnt watch all of it, but how do you pick where to put them that quickly? Or do you just put them in the first place you see? The speed they were dropping i was expecting to see the clock speeded up, but no. wow, puts me to shame.

Nice, I would say I am amazed to see you do that in under ten min. but I am not because I had the pleasure of playing you online yesterday.  So I was amazed yesterday lol! I think I lasted an average of 55 seconds against you.  It was fun though.  Lemmie ask you a question though. Do you actually view all the coming tetrimino on the right and plan that far ahead or do you generally just look at the next one or two?  I am trying to speed my game up and so far the best I can do marathon in is 23 min.  I can generally only look to my next piece.  Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.  I've been playing Tetris since the Game Boy and NES days, so we are going on almost 20 years. I've always just had a knack for playing this game. There is some planing to it, but for the most part any available place for any given piece is good enough for me. I usualy only look at the next 1 or 2 pieces. Some tips I can offer:

Try to build you pieces as flat as you can.
Don't be afraid to use your I's for thing's other than tetrises.
Doing back to back tetrises, t~spins or a combination of both will take off lines off your goal quicker.

If you check this post I posted a list of all the different line clears and what they take off of your goal.

Have either of you checked out my Tetris Evo video on youtube? Nothing but back to back t~spins and tetrises.

Just been playing for a bit and I noticed a couple of things. I kind of perceive the colors of the pieces in the next que. I don't really make plans for each piece, but I more or less know what's coming. Couple of other tips:

Pratice playing without using hold. I think that this has helped me a lot. You have to place every piece in a location; inevitably you are going to have to mess up your stack. That lead's me to my next tip....

When you do mess the stack up, fix it as quickly as possible. When I mess up, about 99% of the time I will block off my channel for the I piece to fix it.

Around four hrs. to go. No biggie theres almost always someone on Live to get a game on with.  I jump on every once in awhile for a half hour or so at a time.  I have small kids so I get on when I can.

Everytime I enter your room to get a few games in, you're hosting, but not there. As an FYI, your time only gets accumulated when actually playing matches.

lol yeah I know.  Like I said kids I get called away from my xbox allot.  Kids come first and all.  Actually I got a little over 10 hrs(according to leaderboards for free for all) yet no chieve anyone have this happen to them? 

Yeah, kids will do that to ya. I have a almost 3 year old and an almost 2 year old...... I heard a lot of people talking about that achievement problem, but I didn't notice it. You should unlock it soon.

Thanks guys. Even though the new vid is basically the same a my Tetris Evo vid, I figured I would post it up anyway. I think I did a better job of stacking the stack, with a minimal amount of 'juggling pieces' trying to figure out where to put them.

My next video project that I'm working on is going to be a video of all the different spin's that you can do with all the pieces to get them into weird places they shouldn't go.

Glad my vids are still helping people. Yeah I didn't get how to set up combo's for a while. Good luck with your 20 minute achievement. I have no doubt you will the the 10 hour one as it is just a matter of time.
