all I hear out here is that the game is too short too easy and too expensive wat gives people?
I remember a time were gamers were dying to get their hands on this game but now it looks like its being rejected

I like it very much, and I find it challenging enough.

I guess if you've played every shmup out there to death, Omega Five isn't very spectacular, but I enjoy it.

I'm thinking the same thing too. I don't play these type of games much anymore, so I am likely to enjoy the game and have more of a challenege than spme of the people who have posted in this forum.

For a game of this genre it is very easy, but that doesn't make it any less fun or worthwhile. Its short, but for a game with such fantastic visuals and interesting character design, I don't regret my purchase. I do hope they make more levels available for DLC, though.

The best thread for XBLA news and discussion

ok so those are hardcore side scroller shooter posters who are calling OmegaFive easy expensive and short. I like the game alot I play it while listing to my playlist its kool couse when you have gangsta hiphop music on the back ground it feels like your on a U-tube video and it motivates too. I know I could feel the DLC coming in the near future if only I had friends to compare scores with the only one on my friends list is my brother and he don't want to buy the game
that cheap baster but as for me the dev. people of OmegaFive could call me a fan I love it

I would have to disagree with ya there, i just baught it and its very fun, visually stunning, its kinda hard but the cool thing is when you lose and gotta start over, its just as fun ive pretty much memorized the first level but its fun as stuff still.  So those people are wrong in my opinion

Gradius V would be a dream, with HD, leaderboards and achievements...

I love Omega Five, but it´s just too easy for hardcore gamers. I played 4 times yesterday, a little more than an hour. First time I died at 1st level. Second time I died on the middle of 4st level. Third time I tried Tempest, but I just didn´t like it so I quitted. And the last one, I ended the game losing only a continue.

It´s not too expensive. For God´s sake, it´s a completely new game for Arcade!!! Metal Slug is 800, Castlevania is 800... Both of them are really good, but they are emulated games, not completely new ones.

You have to remember that one of the reasons why the s'hmup genre fell from favour is that the games got so hard and so far up their own A%$es that their audience kept shrinking and new users couldn't break in as it was to damned hard!  Omega 5 is a reasonable challenging game for people new to the genre with a good enough combo system to encourage some deacent competition on the scoreboards.  Here's hoping they make a few more!  Come on people let's have a good, modern verticle scroller!

yh this game is quite good bit hard but i got 5 credits after playing for an hour, what other bonuses do you get?

It sounds like their are enough unlockables in the game to satisfy the $10 price tag at least.

I am not good at this at all - and I am not horrible at shooters, I got through dodonpachi on two credits - but for some reason, I am getting killed in this game.  Gimmee Ikaruga and well do some acvmnt racing... agh why do I stink at this one so much??

The only kind of dissapointing thing is the total lack of mode ++ achievements, you know, to satisfy the true hardcore (not my case).

You can unlock even more credits at 5 hours (8 if I remember).

I think the achievements are ok. For hardcore players, you get 30x bonus instead of 10x, in ++, so if you play in that mode, you will have a better score than someone who doesn´t play in ++... If you manage not to die I can get easily my Arcade´s score (normal mode) in the first level in ++.

So anybody can get the achievements, but hardcore gamers can get all the top spots of leaderboards I think it´s a good deal.

1943 for sure... I used to love those top view, scrolling shooters. I used to love the shooters that when you collected power-ups it would physically attach the weapon to your ship.

I think the game great!  Challenging enough for me, and it's simply BEAUTIFUL in HD.  I die all the time just looking at the colors.  lol.

 

And yes....BRING R-TYPE!!!!!!!!

thanks people for droping in your two cents this one game looks like am going to be on for a good while I want to reach high hights on those leaderboard and it inspires me to do better knowing that some gamers have all 200/200 achievements on the very firts day in a metter of hours everything unlocked and also manage to clim the leaderboards

Maybe the reason they were dying is because it was the best game of their time ( in whenever it was originally released ) but now that it's on XBLA, people aren't so hyped up about it because we have better XBLA games. It's still a pretty fun game, but I didn't buy the full version bc I spent all my points on the weekend sale stuff.... hehehe.
