Wow this achievement is hard and only worth 10 points. Is there a trick to it? Can someone please give advice for killing all of the spiders? They multiply too fast.
i'm surprised it's only worth 10 pts too. having tried a couple dozen times already, it ain't gonna be easy. only tip i can offer so far, if you didn't happen to figure out yet, is that you can sorta pre-position your shooting direction before your character goes live. i say "sorta" because it's all feel since you won't really know where his arm ends up until it's go time, but you get a feel for it eventually.

That's the way i did it as well.
Another quick tip, you can actually change your settings and give yourself the max number of lives (5) while going for this achievement. It doesn't say on the achievement description to use default settings. This just saves some time.
I also put the difficulty down to '1' when I got it, but unfortunately, I noticed absolutely no difference in difficulty for any games in the first level with this setting.
Yes, you just have to shoot all the ones on the left, than all the ones on the right, and then make a dash for the ones on the top. It takes time and a bit of luck, but it can be done. Try absolute aim and go straight at them, getting right up in their faces, get totally aggressive, give yourself 5 lives and lower the diffculty to one.
Without a doubt the hardest achievement in Tron.
practice. all the light cycles except assembly and basic level you go to the right .
The red tanks, fire up until you kill one, then go up and down as needed, killing recognizers as you got, then retreat to the top to kill the last one.
Be prepared to face the PL1 level mcp cone which descends very fast and rotates left to right. attack this aggrssively!!
The bit that sometimes appears on grid bug stages is worth 5000 points. don't miss it!
Tanks, always go up when you begin your pattern, learn to shoot around cornersand make your shots bounce off walls. you can fire diagonally, they cannot.
After you beat the user level, the levels are all called user after that, so the patterns repeat. they are:
rpg, cobol, basic, fortran, snobol, PL1, pascal, assembly, OS, JCL, user
Team up with me in Co-Op to see these things n action.

Nice tips. We definitely will play co-op sometime :)
Man. Magnus beat me to 200/200 by about 45 minutes. And then, after I was all stoked that I finally got the Exterminator and 200/200, I go back to the leaderboard and see that he broke 300k.
Regarding USER, it's pretty much an endurance match. The patters are all pretty similar. He goes right on the light cycles, I go left. Once you find a patter that works for you, it's not too bad. Even on the hardest difficulty levels (level 10 and later) the general patterns still work for all levels. Here's a quick summary for what I do:
Light Cycles: I go to the left on all of them, and alternate between two patterns. One is a little box in the lower left corner, and the other sort of looks like a lowercase h.
Tanks: Except for the recognizers levels, I sit in the little alcove right above the transporter. Sometimes you might have to peek around the corner and kill a tank before making a dash for it, but this general pattern works on all tank levels (except recognizers). Just don't get twitchy and accidently move into the transporter. For the recognizers, just find a pattern that works and use that on all recognizer levels. I immediate move up through the center lane and end up in the top right corner.
Grid Bugs. Pretty basic. For the one where you start surrounded by them, I shoot two of them on the right side and break through as quick as I can.
MCP: Same pattern every level. The difficulty here is to know asap which way the MCP is spinning and react as fast as you can. It's all a matter of having enough time to shoot enough shots to make a big enough hole for you before you get pushed up too far.
Good luck!
P.S. On the exterminator achievement, I shot all of the ones on the left, came below the center to the right, killed the bugs there, and finished off the bugs on top with about 25 on the timer left at the end.
How I got Exterminator: I went left, then right, then top. I had on 5 lives and Difficulty level 1 (though I don't feel like the difficulty changed any). While skill is definitely required, there is a fair bit of luck involved with regards to how many bugs spawn and when.
Before the action starts, point both sticks at a 45-degree angle to the left (Northwest). Once you start moving, pop off one quick shot and you should kill the bottom left-most bug. Immediately adjust the aim to point Northeast and shoot the other bug on the bottom while moving closer to the bugs. Make sure you are as close as possible to the bugs so that your rate of fire is as fast as possible.
Once you have about two bugs remaining on the left, start moving back around the bottom edge of the central core (try to hug it to save as much time as you can). Your aim needs to be fairly accurate, as you should be killing the last bug or two while you are already moving back towards the right side.
On the right side, stay almost directly underneath the center of the bug groupings and keep popping off left-right shots (not quite straight up, but close) while making your way towards the top.
Along the top, just keep as close to the bugs as you can, and don't stop firing. Make sure every shot counts though, because if you miss, it takes a moment before you can fire again. Good luck!
I recently got this. I honestly didn't think this was possible - never did it in the arcades.
Obviously best to try on basic. Run full bore at bugs on right-hand side and don't waste any shots (should kill all four without missing). Run to left, hugging the bottom of the I/O tower. The bugs on the left should be hugging the side of the tower, making easy to clear them out with a straight-up aim. Alls thats left then are the ones on top.
Remember: Once all bugs are gone, you automatically are drawn into the tower (you don't have to shoot all bugs, and THEN try to enter before time runs out), so you can use the full timer to kill them all (I had like 21 left when I killed my last bug).
On a side note: Interesting that you can set on easier difficulty. Is this why some of the leaderboard scores are so high (I have left on whatever the default is)...?
