There is also a work-around for the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement. I had seen this posted elsewhere and tried it and it definitely works. You need to play through the first scene of the first act in co-op as Knight. Upon reaching the end of the first scene (after the hostages are released and before going outside to fight the Spec Ops), you'll unlock both the That Wasn't So Hard achievement and the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement (assuming you've already beat the game on Realistic and didn't get the achievement then). I didn't have anyone to play co-op with, so I created a new gamertag, logged in under the new gamertag and started a split screen co-op game on Realistic signing in with my usual gamertag as the secondary character (Knight). I had tried this initially has Bishop and it didn't work until I remembered someone saying that you had to be playing Knight for it to work and once I did that I finally got it.

The main problem is this darn 75 pointer for people who completed it on a lesser difficulty first! Anyone remember how long it took Small Arms to get a patch out for the glitched "Won 100 Matches" achievement?!?!

I would wait, don't want to delete your saves and all of a sudden it doesn't work.

that most definitely is not the only solution. i beat the game on Normal first. Joined a friend's game as Knight in the Nevada Desert on Realistic -- beat the game. Played through the first 5 chapters and completed all scenes as Bishop on Realistic, and still didn't get the achievement. I think I need to find out which scenes I haven't beaten as Knight, and then I'll get it. It's just tough to find a game online with someone who's going to play the game from beginning to end as Bishop.

Never said it was the only solution, just a solution that has worked for the vast majority. I've only seen one person who has tried this and still wasn't able to get it.

If you've completed the campaign you don't need any of the game save files.

 

....Thats how I feel towards finishing the story of the game on realistic and the Terrorist Hunt and passing the Priv. first class rank.....NO ACHIEVEMENTS....I figure if im going to buy a game and not receive achievements for it , especially the special edition of RSV2..its going to **** me off...I have played it 3 times already and in co-op...Microsoft or Ubisoft....Hurry the *** up in fixing these issues...im sure im not alone on this.

You have the same problem as me and a few other people i know. If you have completed the game on casual or normal first I dont believe there is any possible way of getting the achievment until it is patched im afraid!

The Freedom shall prevail Achievement isn't as glitched as people are making out, sure it sometimes doesn't unlock straight away, all it needs is some coaxing.

My friend completed the realistic campaign and got nadda... a couple of days later he joined me to help me through my campaign, after re-doing a couple of scenes on realistic it unlocked for him.

Moral of the story is just get a friend and play through some scenes and it'll come

Yes when the patch comes out it should check your rank and unlock the achievement if have earnt it

i got the realistic achieve today. there was no pop-up though, so for like 2 minutes i thought it didn't unlock. for some reason, i didn't get the blip for the last 2 levels and realistic. strange.

Well that it a total of 8 times on realistic         4 as host 4 as knight

i even done 2 tiems in normal mode host and knight

and i even done it on casual level as host and knight

all these people who are getting it though these ways it must because of pure luck since i done it on realistic and didnt get it ive tryed ever possible way this sucks

It's been proven that if you complete the story on Realistic first time around then it is possible to get the achievement either straight away or by redoing the first or last level on co-op to unlock it. However, if you played the entire story as knight first time around or you completed it on a lesser difficulty there is currently no solution to getting the achievement!!!

That happened to me with the officer achievement.  Once I got to Warrant Officer, nothing popped up at the bottom of the screen.  I looked 5 minutes later and the achievement was there.

i got two achievements the other night and didn;t realise till the next day when i looked at my profile on here, i had turned off the notifications whilst watching a dvd at the weekend.  i didn't realise it turned off unlocked achievement notifications too, i thought it was just for invites etc.

For future reference, You can set notifications to be off only while you're watching a movie, you can also just set yourself to "Busy" which won't be set as such next time you turn on your 360.

I finally got this achievement. This is my little story, I played the first scene on the first level co-op with my friend but he had it on Normal. I then went on to play until Nevada desert alone on realistic. I then had a friend join me a we beat the game in very little time from Nevada to the end of Estate. I then change it back to the first scene of the first level and beat that. Now all my levels are completed on realistic....no achievement. I then ask my friend to host and room and he does choosing the level he was last on which was MLG convention center level. We play through the scene and I un-lock it. It only took one scene.
