We hope you will enjoy using Xbox community
features to exchange information, opinions, tips and tricks regarding
the Xbox video game system, Xbox Live and Xbox games.
Microsoft
does not offer any formal support, nor does it guarantee regular
monitoring of these forums. Instead, the community features are
provided as a platform for participating in the global community of
Xbox gamers.
Microsoft may from time to time monitor content on
its communities to ensure accuracy of information, but you should note
that any information provided by Microsoft staff is provided "AS IS"
with no warranties, and confers no rights.
You assume all risk
for your use. The materials you provide to Microsoft (including
feedback and suggestions) or post, upload, input or submit to any
Xbox.com Web Site or its associated services are known collectively as
"submissions". Occasionally Microsoft may use the submissions in the
forums as a source of content for Xbox.com and the Xbox Live
service. In such cases Microsoft may or may not contact the
individual(s) before posting that information on Microsoft Web sites.
By posting in the forums, you are granting Microsoft permission to
copy, distribute, transmit, publicly display, publicly perform,
reproduce, edit, translate and reformat your submission; and to publish
your name in connection with your submission.
To ensure that
you understand what to expect during your visits and how to help keep
them as productive as possible, please read the summary of the Code of Conduct below.
The full Code of Conduct is available at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/codeofconduct.htm. Before joining in, be sure to check our privacy statement at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/live/legal/privacystatement.htm. Thank you for participating in the Xbox Forums!
Summary of the Code of Conduct
Be respectful
Please
treat all other community participants with respect and do not use Xbox
community features to threaten, harass, stalk, or abuse other users.
The
purpose of our communities is to exchange information and opinions on
Xbox products. Please avoid personal attacks, slurs, and profanity in
your interactions. Microsoft reserves the right to remove user-created
services and content that advocate or encourage expressions of
violence, bigotry, racism, hatred, obscenity, or profanity.
Microsoft
may, at will and without notice, remove postings or ban participants
that are deemed objectionable or that violate this code of conduct.
Microsoft reserves the right to block access of Xbox community features
to anyone who has violated this code of conduct. Microsoft or its
designees may move posts to appropriate forums or delete common
questions and refer people to FAQs or posts that already exist.
Don't Spam
Do
not use Xbox community features to spam others. Spam includes sending
identical and irrelevant or unsolicited submissions to many different
users, and includes misrepresenting the source of anything you post.
Creating multiple posting for the sole purpose of raising your
community status is considered spam and may result in loss of community
privileges. Spamming and scrolling in chat rooms are serious violations
of online etiquette.
Stay Legal
Microsoft
does not allow behavior or content related to illegal activities. You
cannot use Xbox community features services to publish, post,
distribute, or disseminate defamatory, infringing, obscene, or other
unlawful material or discussion. This includes, but is not limited to,
child pornography, bestiality, incest, illegal drugs, software piracy,
and harassment. You may not use Xbox communications services for the
purpose of linking to external sites that violate this code of conduct.
Impersonating a Microsoft employee, agent, manager, host, or another
user is forbidden. In addition to upholding this code of conduct, you
are responsible for adhering to all local and national laws that
pertain to your location.
Manage Your Online Privacy
We
caution you against giving out any personally identifiable information
(such as social security number, credit card number, name, address,
telephone number, driver’s license number, password, etc.) online. This
information can easily be used for illegal or harmful purposes. We
reserve the right to amend or change the code of conduct at any time
and encourage you to periodically review these guidelines to ensure you
are in compliance.
The full Code of Conduct can be examined within the Terms of Use for Xbox.com at http://www.xbox.com/en-US/legal/xboxComTOU.htm. Updated: 10/25/05
