Yes! I'm getting total lockups at random times. How do we go about getting this fixed? Did we get bad copies of the disc? The only other time I've had this happen is with Mass Effect, but those freezes were due to the RROD.

Well, I sent an e-mail to Rockstar tech support, so we'll see what the official response is.

Mine is freezing too.  One thing that I have noticed is that the game isn't kicking my system's cooling fans up to the highest level.  Maybe this is causing it to overheat and freeze up.  Is this the case for anyone else?

I have a launch system and it goes to the highest fan speed for pretty much every other game that I have ever played.

Mine works perfect, it was laggy the first cutscene/10 minutes but its fine now. Playing for a couple hours straight.
Put this in your signature if you want Microsoft to lower the prices of Xbox 360 accessories

Yup...Ive had 2 freezes in my first 90 minutes of play so far :(

I have also sent an email to Rockstar tech support... we shall see if they give a damn... 4 freezes so far :(

I've had two freezes so far, also only 90 or so minutes in and in two different places. The first time I found out the hard way that it wasn't autosaving (lost an hour or so of progress). The second took place 20-30 minutes after loading the game up again, before I even got back the point where I'd frozen up before. Hope this is something they can patch quickly!

yeh i had the same problem wit the ps2 version first time i played it forze all the time. But this only occurerd in the first chapter for some reason the rest of the game was fine

I haven't had any freezing problems, but the audio pauses for a second every now and again.

I played for about 90 minutes and the game froze once. Didn't freeze after that, so hopefully it was just a fluke thing.

I've had two freezes so far: Once RIGHT after Gym 1, and the second as I was heading back to my dorm after Gym 1.

It'll roll the intro cutscene fine for 15-20 minutes (Was hanging out clothes and cleaning) but the second I start gameplay, it seems to freeze in 20 minutes.
Woe is me, Rockstar best get on the case. I'm not willing to miss out on this for long! *looks for a length of rope*

PS: What way do you have your console sitting? Mine was vertical... :)

Froze up on me 4 times within 5 hours....VERY fun game, but this is just SICK!!!  I waited along time for this to come from PS2.  This is Bulls*#t Rockstar!   I can't wait for GTA IV. (Sounding as sarcastic as possible)

Yes, in addition to the terribly messed up intro (audio/video skipping all over the place like they were rubber bands trying to harmonize with each other) and the random achievements, my game has frozen during load twice now, at which point it tells me to insert the game disc (I can hear the disc stop spinning about 45 seconds before this message both times). Both times when I hit the open tray button it just sends me back to dashboard and all progress is lost, I have learned to save often the hard way :/

It frozed on my too in the 1st chapter when I had to escort Algie pissed me off to didn't saved lost all of my progress.

Can I go out on a limb and suggest console position?

I turned my 360 horizontal and have been playing it since 9:15. It's currently 11 and she hasn't frozen once.
Someone else wanna try this out and get back to us? It's not a permanent solution - but hey, it could be whats seperating half of us from playing it?


Reply if your freezing errors have been from vertical console position and whether lying it horizontal fixes your problems :)

Mine is always horizontal and it has frozen a couple of times, so I don't think it's necessarily the console position.

I co-sign to this thread. Mine froze after the first Gym class game. This will (if possible) need to be dealt with; swiftly.

Mine froze up 4 or 5 times also. I dont know if this has anything to do with it but I have been playing offline and it has not froze up yet. You might try that but I may just be getting lucky.

I'm so glad to see these messages. When I loaded up Bully yesterday the game crashed in about my first 20 minutes. I also noticed the sound skips all the time and the music skips too. It was so bad I had to stop playing. This game has serious issues. I thought it was my box. Thanks for everyone reporting there issues, im no longer worried. On another note what the heck is the hype around this game, even without glitches this game seems very very disappointing. I really dont have that Rockstar quality feeling AT ALL.

I had three freezes in about 5 hours of total play.  It really bugged me too, because the game froze when I really wasn't doing anything but walking the halls or outside with an empty trouble meter.

I haven't had it fully freeze on me yet but I have had it get VERY laggy for a few seconds then it goes right back into the game. The only time it seemed to freeze was right as I was about to save it got laggy and it hung up for a while but I waited it out and it worked itself out. This was through 3 hours of solid play.

Hi. My game locks up too.  My other games work.  I e-mailed Rockstar a message about the problem.  I hope they fix it during the week or else I will return the game.

If you have not already done so, we would recommend you try moving your consoles to a different location in your home as your unit may need greater ventilation. Also, you may want to inspect your game disks to make sure they are free of scratches. Other things to try can be found by reviewing the steps in the following support article. It's pretty well established that this issue is game specific, and the MSKB article you refer to is in regards to general dashboard freezes.

Actually the steps in the article is there to help with any type of freezing that may happen with the console be it a game related issue, disk specific or related to Xbox Live. If you think it may be the game, you can still choose the contact the publisher like has already been suggested, but we at Xbox Support would always recommend you try our support articles and give us a call as we may be able to resolve the issue.

I've had one freeze and  my brother-in-law has had about 3 so far.
