So to re-cap, Treyarch and Infinity Ward make the COD games from the specification that Activision lay out in the requirements for the game title as Activivision OWN both studios.

Treyarch and IW make the game. The reason Activision has ditched Treyarch is because they know the fans (or the majority of) want Ifinity Ward's work. Activision have nothing to do with making the game.

CoD4 was obviously very successful, CoD3 was not as much, so Treyarch made W@W like Modern Warface, with or without Activisions input is irrelevant because they still didn't do as good of a job as IW according to the majority of fans. Hence the reason they have been dropped.

I don't see what Activisions budget etc has to do with it, they want the best made game that will make the most money and that has been IW.

Activision did not ditch Treyarch at all, where did you get this information? Infinity Ward got the in house contract because they use the cheaper engine for the game, nothing to do with the fans at all, its all to do with business decisions.

It's nice to see how over the years this thread has changed from the COD4 Fanboys trashing me, to people at least willing to hear my objective critic,  to people paying attention to the online multiplayer game play, to people actually seeing and understanding what I'm talking about, to the present day intelligent conversations on the subject.

God, I remember writing a COD4 thread criticing the on-line play when COD4 first came out - boy did I get a earful.  Xbox live actually took down the thread for no reason, other than it pointed out flaws in the COD4 engine. 
Let's hope that more people can look at these games objectively and be willing to post about it.  These game manufacturers actually have people reading these post, so the more we post, the greater the chance that they may improve the games.  Unless of course they just want to make a cheap buck and keep producing infantile junk games.

Here is some scary info about CODMW2

There will really be customizable kill streaks. You can choose which kill streaks you want now so instead of having your kill streak at 3, 5, and 7 you can do 3, 4, 5 which seems to be what most people love. *Note: you can still only have 3 kill streaks at a time.  You can stack these kill streaks?  Unlike Call of Duty 4, if you’re in heated combat and get your 3^rd, 4^th, and 5^th kill streak all at once, you will still be able to use all three. This way, it doesn’t skip over to your most current.

 There are death streaks.  Death streaks are new to Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. If you are in a match where you happen to die a certain amount of times in a row, your death streak will activate for a limited amount of time during your next life. For instance, if my death streak was Copycat and I died 3 straight times, for a limited time during my 4^th life I will get to copy the load out of the last person the killed me.

They are making it even easier to get kills, dumbing it down and dumbing it down.  At some point in the COD Series you will just have to sit back and watch your character kill everone in the match like an action movie.

im having mixed thoughts about modern warfare 2 also. after going through 10 prestiges on cod 4 and waw i kindof miss the gameplay of cod 2 and 3 due to the fact that all i had to worry about was playing the game, with my friends or just plain having fun. all the stuff u have to do in cod 4 and waw and now mw2 takes the fun out of the game. i liked it when i could just randomly join anyones game in 3 with a few of my friends at my house and have some fun.

wow death streaks, are u *** joking? Have infinity ward forgot about a small thing called skill? Clearly they have, mw2 is going to have the most unskillfull multiplayer ever! Sorry to butt in on the noob streak bonus and stuff, every proper gamer knows COD4-MW2 is garbage.Anyone out there have any info on COD aracde?The first COD that they're doing?Please tell me that isn't going to be a perktastic noob fest like the others?Also Actinoob are charging even more £/$ for MW2 as they realy do think people out there are stupid.Wouldn't amaze me if Actinoob introduced the Natal Wii type remote for MW2 to complete the insult on peoples intelligence!!!!!!!!!!!!!I love a good rant....

the streaks were just an excuse to get easy kills. easy kills means no skills.

I haven't been on xbox for a while Howler but i won't be on MW2 or the arcade cod 1 because i pretty much done with video games, (haven't bought a game since GTA 4), i'll prob play some cod 3 in christmas time when i have some time off... hope a couple of old guys r still playing
