Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

Well, I am making this post to clean up this forum. It seems that almost half of the first page is covered with sticky threads. This should make the forum easier to navigate and help out new comers at the same time.

This project was composed with the works of Solaris Paradox, Son ALA, Dan Birlew, Zoidberg UK, and myself.

Plots

Devil May Cry
Devil May Cry is the first game in the Devil May Cry series. The main character is Dante, Son of Sparda.
The game opens with a cutscene where the later named Trish shows up. Both Trish and Dante Sparda go to mallet island.

Devil May Cry begins with Dante being attacked in his office by a mysterious woman named Trish. He impresses her by easily brushing off her assault, and tells her that he hunts demons in pursuit of those who killed his mother and brother. She says the attack was a test, and that the demon emperor Mundus, whom Dante holds responsible for the deaths of his family, is planning a return. The scene jumps to their arrival at an immense castle, whereupon Trish abruptly leaps and vanishes over a high wall.
Dante explores the castle and encounters the game's stock enemies, demonic Marionettes. He also finds a new sword called Alastor, and battles the first boss, a giant spider demon named Phantom. Dante wins the battle, but in what becomes a recurring theme, the defeated boss monster reappears a short time later in a corridor, forcing the player to choose a narrow escape or to fight in the tight confines. After further exploration and combat, Dante battles a demon named Nelo Angelo, who impresses Dante with his confidence. The demon wins, but suddenly flees upon seeing the half-amulet Dante wears. The demon attacks twice more in later missions, and is eventually revealed to be Dante's identical twin brother, Vergil. After Vergil's final defeat, his amulet joins with his brother's half, and "Force Edge", the game's default sword which belonged to the twins' father, becomes the powerful Sparda sword.
When Dante next meets Trish, she betrays him and reveals that she too is working for Mundus. But when her life is endangered, Dante chooses to save her. Saying he only did so because of her resemblance to his mother, he warns her to stay away. Yet when he finally confronts Mundus, who is about to kill Trish, Dante again chooses to save her and is injured. Mundus tries to finish him off, but Trish takes the attack instead. This unleashes Dante's full power.Dante and Mundus then battle on another plane of existence.
Dante is victorious, and leaves the amulet and sword with Trish's immobile body before departing. Mundus returns and corners Dante, who is now back to his regular strength, before he can flee the island; Trish also returns and lends Dante her power. Dante defeats Mundus, who vows to return and rule the human world. When Trish tries to apologize she begins to cry, and Dante tells her it means she has become human and not just a devil, because "devils never cry". Dante and Trish escape on a plane as the island collapses. After the credits, it is revealed that Dante and Trish are working together as partners, and have renamed the shop "Devil Never Cry".

Devil May Cry 2
Devil May Cry 2 begins with Lucia and Dante separately entering a museum where an important item called The Medaglia is stored. After defeating a group of demons in the museum, Lucia invites Dante to follow her to the Dumary Island, where he is introduced to Matier, her mother. Matier explains that she once fought alongside Dante's father, Sparda, to defend the island against demons. She asks Dante to help fight Arius, an international businessman who uses demonic power and seeks to conquer the world. Dante flips a coin in answer, and decides to help when the coin lands on heads. After Dante leaves Matier and Lucia discuss The Arcana, the items required for Arius to raise Argosax.
Lucia eventually confronts Arius, who reveals that she was his creation. When Lucia moves to strike Arius, he uses his magic to blast her away. Shortly afterward, Dante meets up with Lucia, who gives him the last of The Arcana before leaving. Dante then encounters Matier and tries to pass The Arcana to her. Matier, in turn, asks Dante to take The Arcana to save Lucia, who has gone to fight Arius again. Dante flips the coin again to decide if he will help; it lands on heads, and he departs to aid Lucia. Meanwhile, Lucia enters the Uroboros tower and attacks Arius, who captures her. Dante arrives and trades The Arcana for Lucia, then attacks Arius. To escape, Arius forces Dante to decide between saving Lucia or killing him.
Lucia, worried about the ritual and conflicted about herself, wonders how they will stop Arius. Dante waves her off, stating he will find a way. Dante leaves Lucia to think as he departs to defeat Arius. Matier arrives a short time later, sets Lucia's mind at ease, and decides to rejoin the fight against Arius. Dante arrives to find Arius in the middle of his immortality-inducing ritual. Apparently not at all phased by the completion of the ceremony, Dante stands confident. Another fight ensues, in which Dante finishes Arius off with his pistols. Outside, Lucia confronts Dante and demands that he kill her because she fears she will become a demon herself. Before the issue can be resolved, a large stream of energy strikes the tower and a portal to the demon world is opened. Dante and Lucia argue over who will enter and close it from the inside; Dante offers to leave the issue up to fate. He flips the coin and it once again lands on heads, leaving Dante to enter the portal to deal with Argosax after leaving the coin with Lucia.
After Dante departs, Arius returns to life bearing demonic power. While Lucia fights Arius, he finds himself injured and attempts to distract her, a tactic which fails; Lucia goes on to defeat him. Within the portal, Dante fights and defeats the partially summoned Argosax. Finding the portal closed, Dante instead drives further into the demon realm on a motorcycle. In the aftermath of the battle, Matier attempts to reassure Lucia about Dante's fate, insisting that Sparda returned from a similar trip. Lucia examines the coin Dante left with her and discovers that both sides are identical. Sometime later in Dante's shop, Lucia muses about Dante. Outside the sound of a motorcycle echoes, and Lucia leaves to investigate. It is left up to the player's interpretation if this is Dante or not.

Devil May Cry 4 Info
Devil May Cry 4 is the second sequel (Devil May Cry 3 being a prequel) to the Capcom action game Devil May Cry. It was announced in March 2007 that the game would be released simultaneously for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and later PC. It is being developed by Capcom Production Studio 4, the producers of Resident Evil 4 and the original Devil May Cry.
In the game, the player controls Nero, a new character, in addition to an appearance by series lead Dante, fighting demonic enemies in close combat using firearms, swords and a variety of weaponry in a horror setting. Also joining the cast is a new female character, Kyrie. Capcom has also revealed three new characters, Credo, Gloria and Agnus, along with returning characters Lady and Trish.

Playable Characters
On September 6, 2006, Japanese video game magazine Famitsu reported that series star Dante will not be playing the main role in Devil May Cry 4. Instead, a new character named Nero, voiced and motion captured by
Johnny Yong Bosch, will take the lead role.
Nero resembles both Dante and his twin brother, Vergil, and is part of the Order of the Sword, a group of warriors who worship Sparda.
Nero's attire consists of blue jeans, a long purple coat, and a red vest with a hood. He wields a revolver named Blue Rose which has a distinctive under-and-over double barrel and a decorated single-edged sword called the Red Queen. Nero views Dante as a villain after witnessing Dante murdering members of the Order. Gameplay videos and screens reveal Dante to be a boss enemy in the game.
Nero's right arm seems to resemble a demon's and glows supernaturally, and is the source of his "Devil Bringer" power. He apparently was not born with his arm in this state, and hears voices demanding "more power." Nero will also apparently have his own "devil trigger" transformation, which consists of a demonic spirit hovering above him.
Dante, the primary character in the rest of the series, will also be playable and will have updated versions of the core animations used in Devil May Cry 3: Dante's Awakening, as well as that game's four basic fighting styles Trickster, Royal Guard, Gunslinger and Sword Master, which can be switched at will. Game Informer reported that he will not just be an unlockable, but will be playable as part of the storyline.

Gameplay
Nero's weapons shown in the trailer and gameplay videos are his sword the Red Queen, his revolver the Blue Rose, as well as the powers of his "Devil Bringer" arm.
Red Queen is based on the swords used by the Order of the Sword, and Nero has upgraded his to make it much stronger. When Nero twists the motorcycle-like handgrip, a propellant is released which adds to the force of the sword's impact. Blue Rose's over-and-under double barrel allow it to fire two shots at once, and is strong enough to penetrate armor. The Order normally looks down on guns as dishonorable, and only Nero uses one. His arm's "Devil Bringer" power adds a third element of gameplay (in addition to guns and swords), allowing Nero to grab distant enemies, pull them in to be attacked, push them away, slam them into the ground, as well as allowing him to zoom across areas at certain points. Also, it has context-sensitive uses in certain battles, for example spinning enemies overhead.
Producer
Hiroyuki Kobayashi indicated that he is focusing his optimizations on gameplay so that controlling characters is less difficult, and accessible to all players. Director Hideaki Itsuno also noted that the game will have a more forgiving learning curve than Devil May Cry 3, but will eventually ramp up to above DMC3's difficulty and that players, "won't be able to go back". He further stated that Devil May Cry 4 will feature more weapons, maneuvers, enemies, locations, music, and cutscenes than all the previous releases combined. DMC4 will also continue the series' tradition of huge bosses, as an early demo video featured a battle between Nero and a gigantic fire demon called Berial, and the trailer released Dec. 17 featured an even more immense foe. Kobayashi revealed through Game Informer that Nero will not be gaining new weapons from bosses like Dante did in Devil May Cry 3, but will instead power up the Devil Bringer.

Weapon Information
Red Queen
- This weapon is wielded by Nero. While been swung around at high speeds can be very affective. The sword has what looks like a motorcycle handle on it, which pulled, releases a flammable liquid over the enemy.

Blue Rose
- A firearm used my Nero for long range, weaker attacks. It has two barrels and is called the Blue Rose. Interestingly, the Order of the Sword, feels as though a sword is the only truly honourable weapon and dislike guns, making Nero the only person permitted to use one.

Ebony and Ivory
- Dante's twin .45 companions, two automatic stealthy steel pistols. These weapons are modeled after pistols his father once owned. Dante shares a special relationship with these guns as they are the only guns he truly needs to battle supernatural evils.

Yamato
- Virgil's primary weapon is the Yamoto sword, which he weilds with deadly accuracy. It is said that his speed of techniques are simply to fast for the human eye to keep up with. He is aslo capable of transforming into his devil trigger state before Dante.

Alastor  - The legendary lightning sword is found where it was left centuries ago impaled through the heart of the Judge of Death.Once obtained, the Alastor imparts to Dante special abilities. The Alastor focuses the elemental power of lightning to cleave enemys in two.

Beowulf - These gauntlets and greaves use the power of flash to strike down demonic enemies. Although extremely powerful the Beowulf set requires Dante get up close and personal to his targets.

Force Edge - Force Edge is a sharp and industructible memento from Dante's father. The sword was used to defeat Mundus and steal the gateway of the Underworld for two millennia.

Secret Missions Walkthrough

Credit: Artemis Artium

Hello everyone, I have been getting questions about the secret missions here lately and I didn't even have them all. Well, I sat down and decided I would have a go at them. I have made a walkthrough purely of my own material. I do not copy and paste, so here is my advice to any of you who are struggling. I am not going to tell you where each individual mission is in each level. They are all pretty easy to find. The biggest piece of advice I can give you on any of these missions is: Be patient and don't give up.

Secret Mission 01: Annihilation

(M02) This is a very easy mission in which all you have to do is run around the circle counter-clockwise and use buster over and over.

Secret Mission 02: Alley-Oop

(M04) This can be a tad annoying if you are new to the game. My wife found that if you use Automatic mode, it makes it a lot easier. Just jump in the air and hold right bumper and keep tapping B. That’s all there is to it.

Secret Mission 03: Nonviolent Resistance

(M05/M15) This mission is best done with Dante although if you have table hopper, you can do it with Nero. As Dante, switch to Royal Guard and have patience. If you are good with RG, then you are lucky. Anyway, all you have to do is successfully execute RG until you reach a C rank. I recommend you back into the corner with the zigzag and wait for the Frost to come over. All of his attacks are obvious, but he mostly does his ground pound in the corner.

Secret Mission 04: Tracking Treasure Down

(M06) This is a really easy one once you memorize where all the “hot spots” are. Use Nero so you can use his arm to detect the orbs. Here are the places to check:

  • In front of the Castle’s exit doors.
  • Northeast corner, ground floor.
  • Where the chairs usually sit, ground floor.
  • The blue dial on the second floor.
  • Shatter the mirror on the east wall on the second floor and stand in the hole.
  • Under the Gyro Blade, ground floor.
  • On top of the arch in the southwest corner.
  • Down the stairs behind the painting. Stand in the middle of the floor.

Secret Mission 05: Sky Scraper

(M07) This one does not need any explanation. If you are having trouble, just keep at it. It’s pretty simple…

Secret Mission 06: Vermifuge

(M10) This one can be intimidating, but it’s really easy and you will kick yourself if you are just now reading this. Get the “grab” ability from Credo and this is easy as cake. All you have to do is grab the scarecrow and take him up on top of the cliff. Plant him down firmly and jump back down to deal with the Chimera Seed.

Secret Mission 07: Free Running

(M12) This is very tricky and I will admit that the first time I did it; it was an accident. I will also say that the accidental method is the only one I recommend. You need the mid-air streak ability and air hike to do this. Hit the blue dial and when the platforms appear, run and jump off the edge, use your mid-air streak, and then your air hike to the platform with the blue orb. Done and done!

Secret Mission 08: Royal Blocker

(M14) This one is a pain. I hate royal guard, but it’s very simple with practice. Kill one of the mephistos to start off. Then watch the second one carefully. The laser-pointer finger is the easiest to block, but all of the attacks are easy to adapt to. Just figure out which attack is the best for you and use RG on it consistently. If you are hit or mess up your timing, the counter resets. Practice, practice, practice…

Secret Mission 09: Unbreakable

(M15) This one threw me off a lot, but here is the simplest way to do this. Have Trickster fully upgraded and equip your shotgun. All you are going to do here is walk in a circle, clockwise, around the board. It sounds stupid, but it works. Just fire your shotgun non-stop but don’t lock on to anything. Our man, Dante, will automatically fire at the closest enemy. The trick here is that you need to jump and press B away when more than one gets too close. Give it a few tries and you will be glad you did.

Secret Mission 10: Puppet Master

(M05) Another simple mission in which Capcom gives you plenty of time to complete the objective. I have done this mission in a few different orders, but it just boils down to how comfortable you are with your own method. Start close and spread out. The only suggestion I have is to take your time and go relatively slow. If you waist too many charges, you will fail.

Secret Mission 11: Point of Impact

(M16) This is a very easy mission once you find it. If you are reading this it’s probably because you have no idea where the damn parchment is. Well you are not alone…. Go up the collapsed stairs near where the bridge fell. It’s right after you fight the basilisks. Anyway, have DT ready and go to the very top of all the stairs once there, go down one flight until you hit the wall. There should be some red orbs on the wall. Hit the DT and double air hike up to the paper. Now that you found it, make sure you have the laser cannon for Pandora. Run to the bottom of the stairs, shoot the statue, run back up and down the corridor and blast the second one. Easy right? Yeah, I know.

Secret Mission 12: Steeplechase

(M17) If you are like me; you probably tried for a good five minutes to get Cronus to work with Dante. Well, it doesn’t. This can seem intimidating, but it’s fairly simple. All you have to do is wait for the two lasers to be above you so you can run under. Then jump, and then air hike. If you got the timing right, then you landed and the pattern is going to repeat. Just jump and air hike again. Your timing is crucial and it will probably take you a few tried, but you will be proud of yourself once you do it.

S-Rank Guide for Red Orbs

Credit: Son ALA

(Original Thread: http://forums.xbox.com/18919666/ShowPost.aspx)

Before I start, I would like to thank Artemis Artium since he supported the idea of this guide and he helped with the composition of this guide so it could look professional. In the near future Artemis will take this guide and create a video version of what i have written so his movements could mimic my instructions when it comes to destroying items.

I would also like to thank telesniper for his research. After testing a few missions he has confirmed that you do not have to destroy the Red Orb Statues or the Combo Statues in order to recieve 100% Orbs but i will still leave the locations of those 2 statues in the guide just for those of you who want to obtain a bunch of Orbs.

Feel free to ask any questions in this thread and everyone around here would be glad to help you out... I only ask that you wait for me to post all of my info before anyone starts to post a reply.

Thank You All.

Also, as a small favor to me, please do not post this guide anywhere else. I would rather want you guys post a link to the XBOX.com forums and point people in this direction.

[MM: Link to Original Thread: http://forums.xbox.com/18844113/ShowPost.aspx]

Things you need to know about the Red Orbs.
A. 95%  Red Orbs will give you an S Rank.
B. The Green and White Orbs also increase your Red Orb count but only if you collect them while your Health or Devil Trigger are maxed.
C. Almost all of the Red Orbs are given to you when you destroy items throughout the level.
D. You must destroy all enemies you encounter since they are your main source for Red Orbs.
E. You need to aquire atleast 4,000 Red Orbs from the Red Orb Statues. To obtain the max amount of Red Orbs you need to use your DT
F. Secret Stashes are vital. You must remember all of these locations. Nero's arm will glow and alert you when you're near a Secret Stash.
Dante doesnt recieve any clues so remember those locations so you can collect the Secret Stash as Dante.
G. Combo Statue - Throughout the game you will come across various Combo Statues that will award you a Blue Orb Fragment along with some Red Orbs.
H. You only need to collect the Red Orbs that you come across. There is no need to go out of your way and go to another section of the game to collect orbs.

Skills you'll need
High Roller - Back + Y
Exceed Level 3 (This will make you attacks stronger)
More Orbs (This skill will bring all of the orbs to you)
Air Hike (Double Jump)
Calibur (Air Streak) Back, Front + Y

This Guide was written while Playing Heaven or Hades mode so the enemies encountered here are also in SoS and DMD modes.

I also decided not to do anything for Dante's missions 12 - 16 since all of those missions are revisited areas and you should be able to memorize all of the locations. If you can't memorize them you could simply follow the guide from Nero's stage... just follow it in reverse.

Mission 1.
This is a pretty simple stage.
Durring the Training mode there are 10 benches for you to destroy. I like to let Dante destroy these while i'm dodging his gun attacks.
After you have finished the combo and Buster training you'll have to fight Dante for real and you have to do it quick if you want to get an S rank overall on this mission. Durring this quick fight you will have to destroy the same 10 benches once again.

Now that you defeated Dante you should have 400 Orbs at 100% with an S rank.

Mission 2.
Area 1. Opera House Plaza
As soon as you start the mission you will be standing on the left side of a concrete divider and there is also a fountain directly in front of you.
The conrete divider has 4 benches on it, 2 on the left side and 2 on the right side. On the right side of the divider there is also a short pillar that is destructible.
On the right side of the fountain there is another pillar that is sitting in front of a closed gate.
North of the fountain you will see another concrete divider. The area to the left of the divider has 1 bench and 1 pillar a little bit further away, the right side of the divider has 1 bench and 1 pillar that is close to the single Red Orb and the Blue Door.

Area 2. Storehouse

When you enter this area you will be on the ground level of the storehouse and you will see 1 barrel in front of you after taking a few steps forward and another barrel on the other side. Run up the stairs and you will find yourself in a hallway with a few items. There is a crate and a barrel on the right wall while the wall on the left has 2 crates.
When you enter the next room you will see 3 Scarecrow come to life and they are just waiting for you to kill them. These are the items in the room starting from the left side of the entrance.
1 crate, 1 barrel, 2 shelves, 1 barrel, 3 shelves and 1 crate.

Area 3.
No items and No enemies

Area 4. Cathedral
From the entrance you should walk forward until you reach a gate and then double jump so you can collect the Red Orb that is hidden by the camera angle.
After you grab the orb you should walk down the stairs and continue to go forward so you can stand in front of the gate (feel free to move the camera) and grab the Green Orb with your Snatch move.
As you continue on you will see 10 chairs for you to break just before you obtain the Evil Legacy. With the Evil Legacy obtained Nero is now able to move on and exit this area.
Stand on the blue circle and use Snatch so you can fly to the upper level and then use Snatch again to fly across.
In this area there are 4 benches and a Red Orb on the far left side of the exit, use your arm to grab the orb without having to jump over to it.

Area 5.
No items

Area 6. Residential District
There are a lot of small items here and there is a high chance you might destroy them while fighting the enemies that hound this area. As you go down the stairs you will see a barrel and a vase on the right wall and then on your left but a little after the stairs you will see a watermelon crate, a small vase and a normal vase.
When you turn right you will see a bunch of items on the left and they are
vase, fruit crate, fruit crate, teapot, 2 watermelon crates and the Red Orb Statue.
Next you will see a small area to your left with some small rooftops with 3 little Red Orbs that lead you to a Blue Orb Fragment. As you continue forward you will come across a dumpster on the left and a watch tower on the right that contains 2 Secret Stashes. Stand on the left side of the tower and double jump / wall kick
so you can land inside the tower and collect the stash, now you need to double jump in order to land on top of the tower. Dont press jump rapidly, press jump the 2nd time about a half of second after the first one. Hold left and jump the first time and then hold right and jump the second time to land on top and collect this stash.

Area 7. Port Caerula
When you exit this tunnel go left and double jump while against the wall so you can collect the Red Orb that is up there. From this point on you can play the level normally, just remember to collect the Red Orb on the way to the Snatch circle and the 2 orbs after you activate the blue light machine and then destroy the 2 dumpsters that are right before the exit of Area 7.

Area 9. First Mining Area
When you enter this area you should continue running forward and fall into the pit below so you can collect 6 Red Orbs and then Snatch your way up so you can grab the Green Orb and destroy the Combo Statue.

Area 10. Ferrum Hills
There are 4 to 6 buildings that Berial can Destroy and those buildings will drop some Green Orbs.

Mission Complete, I have 13,944 Orbs at 100%

Mission 3
Area 1. Second Mining Area
From the start of this level you will be welcomed by 3 scarecrow, do your thing and try to finish each one off with a Buster so you can raise your DT. After you killed those 3 guys you should have around 6 bars in your DT guage so now you can run back into the tunnel and rev up you sword, turn on your DT and attack the Red Orb Statue.
Now that you've put the statue in it's place it is now time to leave this area so use your arm to grab onto those lights and pull yourself up to the top. Once you reach the top you'll notice a Red Orb to your left so go and get it and then move onto the next room and kill these guys.

Area 2. Fortuna Castle Gate

From the start of this area you will walk forward a bit and see the wall go in a bit on your left side, go there and double jump up to that ledge and grab that Red Orb. From here you can continue forward but as you're running you should keep an eye out for the first thin pillar you come across, when you see it, break it. Walk forward some more and as soon as the camera angle changes you will see another thin pillar and then you'll see the last pillar at the end right before the broken bridge.

After the scene you will start in the lower area on a circle platform... so kill the 2 Frost and then return to this
"circle platform". From this center circle walk left and go up the path that was previously blocked off by a red web. Just before you reach the stairs you should double jump against the wall so you can collect 3 tiny Red Orbs.
Now return to the center circle and you will see a bunch of thin pillars that are just waiting for you to destroy them and you're going to start with the one that is directly behind you. From the center circle you should now break all of the thin pillars in front of you and I want you to start from the left and go around so you can destroy and count these 9 pillars. After you've destroyed the 9th pillar you will now find yourself back to this center circle and now you will see 4 tall pillars in front of you. There are 2 of them close to you and another 2 further away from you, what you have to do is stand on top of the 2 pillars closest to you so you can collect both Secret Stashes.

Area 3. Grand Hall
When you enter this area you will notice a large blue box in the center and a bunch of chairs and benches on both the left and right side of the box. All of the chairs are pointing in the same direction and you will see 2 benches, chairs alternating from 3,2,3,2.... and then 2 more benches. (same goes for the other side)
When you destroyed all of those items you should go through the door on the right side. (when facing the giant painting)

Area 4. Large Hall
As soon as you enter this area you will come across some enemies. I just pulled a Michael Vick and I abused these dogs. You'll noticed that there is a large gate in front of you with 2 candle holders on our side and a bunch of stuff on the other side. After you have broken the 2 candle holders on our side I want you to go to the furthest right side of the gate and you'll see some items on the other side.
You can't break everything but now i'll list all of the items. Start from here and work your way left. 2 chairs, 1 candle holder, start moving left, 1 candle holder, 1 candle holder and one last candle holder on the left corner. (there are chairs in this corner that you can't reach)

Continue forward and you'll reach the section with 2 Gyro Blades, there are 4 candle holders hear (2 on each side) and you can also steal the Green Orb by walking up to the web and using Snatch. From here just run all the way to the other end where you can see a Gyro Blade that is blocked off. There is a mirror right here that you can break and it contains 2 Red Orbs. Now you can go back a little bit to the branching path with 2 candle holders so you can exit this area... after you break the candle holders.

Area 5. Torture Chamber

No Items
Make your way through this area so you can return back to the Grand Hall. Right now you are in the left half of the Grand Hall's upper section, go forward a bit and you'll come to a corner with a Red Orb on the wall, Rev up your sword and unleash a level 3 Exceed High Roller plus a Wall Kick so you can land inside this balcony and
collect the Secret Stash.

Play the next bit of this mission like you normally would until you reach the blue light machine in the Grand Hall and you've disabled the energy field.

Area 8. Gallery
When you enter this room you'll have to fight a few Scarecrow and then you can destroy all of the items.
From the entrance and going left you'll see 1 chair, 2 display cases, 3 chairs, 2 squared items in a dark corner, Gyro Blade (does not break), Knight's armor, 2 display cases, 1 chair, 1 chair, Knight's armor, 1 display case and 1 last Knight's armor.

Area 9. Library
As soon as you enter this outside area look left and go to the 3rd tall pillar, double jump onto the first ledge and then double jump onto the next ledge and collect the Secret Stash. Now go inside for a fight with a few Angelos. After this fight run to the exit that is now blocked and while facing the exit go to the left corner to destroy a table in the dark. Now go to the Gyro Blade and destroy the 2 vase (1 on each side) and after that double jump to the 2nd floor. On this ledge directly above the Gyro Blade there are 2 tables hiding in the dark (1 in each corner) and after you break those 2 tables you should stay up there and walk along the ledge and you'll find another table in a dark corner above the blocked door.

Mission Complete, I have 12,581 Orbs at 99% and i think thats because of the chairs that we could not break in Area 4.

Mission 4
Almost everything in this mission is the same as mission 3 so there is no need to mention everything again and if you've forgotten the locations for the stashes and items I guess you could just follow the mission 3 steps in reverse.

In mission 4 there is only 1 new area and that is the Dining Room so here are the details.

When you enter the Dining Room you will have to fight 2 Angelos and after that quick match up you can destroy all of the items on and around the large table. There are 8 chairs total around the table and 4 centerpiece sets on the table. Once you've destroyed everything in the Dining Room you will have to continue forward and you will have to deal with a fireball and after that you will end up on the other side of the locked gate so now you'll be able to break all of the items from this area.

Now finish the mission and do everything you did on mission 3

Mission Complete, I have 8,602 Orbs at 100%

We lead a blessed life. May it not change; may it not change us.

Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

Mission 5
Area 1. Soldier's Graveyard
The moment you take a step forward you will have to fight 2 Mephisto and after that you'll be able to show your respect to the dead by destroying their headstone. Going across this area you will see a large gate broken down into a few pieces, you can break them but you will not recieve any Red Orbs from them.
This is the list of items you'll see from the start of the level with the Shop Statue to your right side. There are 6 headstones directly in front of you, after you destroy them you should turn left and face the large fountain. While facing the fountain you will see 3 tall statues and after you destroy them I want you to destroy the 8 small ice sculptors that are surrounding the fountain. Now I want yoy to stand on top of the fountain but you must destroy the large horse statue first. While standing on the fountain you will notice a Red Orb high up, the easiest way to get it is by...
1. aim your body so you can face the orb
2. double jump in the direction of the orb
3. perform the move Calibur
4. at the end of your Calibur perform Snatch
As you landed on the ground you should be alerted by you arm, there are 2 Secret Stashes against the wall while standing on 2 small platforms (2nd and 3rd platforms)
Now back to the fountain, there are 4 more statues circling the top half of the fountain and 2 more sets of graves with 6 headstones each. (12 total)
Once you destroyed these object you can continue on to the next area but as you're going up the stairs there are 2 statues halfway up the stairs. (1 on each side)

Area 2. Master's Chamber
This is a tiny room and as you enter you will have to fight 3 Angelos. A few items might get destroyed durring the fight so dont worry if you can't find something.
On the right side of the bed there is a stool and a table (with a teapot), by the fireplace you'll see 2 chairs and a table and against the wall there is another table with a
stool beside it.

Area 3. Spiral Well
While the next area is actually the Torture Chamber you will quickly end up in the Spiral Well after dealing with the Gyro Blade and when you do enter this area you will have to fight 2 Mephisto and a Faust. To the left of the Wing Talisman statue there is a cell with a Green Orb. Before we move on I want to let you know that there are a total of 5 red jumpers and 3 different floors/ledges. (not including the ground level)
Get on the 1st red jumper and collect the 2 Red Orbs by simply jumping straight up.
Jump to the 2nd jumper, collect the 2 Red Orbs & then quickly aim your body to the left so you can land on the 1st ledge. On this ledge there is a Secret Stash in the cell.
Now jump down to the 2nd jumper and then go to the 3rd jumper, collect the 2 orbs and then go to the 2nd ledge so you can destroy the Red Orb Statue in the cell.
Hop onto the 4th jumper from the ledge and collect the 3 orbs and then use Snatch to get the orb that is underneath the 5th jumper and then leave this area.

Area 4. Torture Chamber
Clear the enemies and move on.

Area 5. Large Hall
We've been here before, fight the 3 Frost and then clean up the area. If you forgotten the locations of all of the items you should go back to
Mission 3, Area 4 and follow all of those steps in reverse.

Area 6. Grand Hall
We've been here before, break all of the chairs and benches, use the red jumper so you can crash through the painting of Sanctus.
After the scene you are standing right in front of the broken painting but before you leave the area you should go left and collect the Secret Stash and the 2 orbs by the balcony and then finish the mission.

Mission Complete, I have 12,963 Orbs at 100%

Mission 6
Area 1. Underground Lab
Before you start moving around, dont jump down, you can see that the map is a circle so walk around the ledge and break the barrel and after you do that I want you to walk around and stand on the tip that sticks out. While standing on the tip you'll notice some metal down below, there are actually 3 different levels that you can stand on.
From the spot that you're standing on I want you to double jump forward and then Calibur just for security reasons, you'll end up on the 1st platform.

Platform 1 - There are 2 barrels on one end, walk around to the other end for 1 more barrel. Stand on the center of this platform and you'll see the other platform below and across from where you're standing. Double Jump and Calibur to it.
Platform 2 - On the right side of this platform there is a higher section for you to jump on and destroy 3 barrels and then you can jump down to the next platform.
Platform 3 - Only 2 barrels here.
On the ground level there are 2 Green Orbs on the right side of Dante's Combo Statue.

Area 2. R&D Access
When you enter this area you will see a large circle wall and when you walk up to it a cutscene will start followed by a fight with 3 sharks (Cutlass). While fighting the sharks you'll see 4 chunks of the circle wall on the ground but don't panic if you dont see them since the sharks will destroy them while they're swimming underground...thats why you'll need that skill so the orbs can just fly to you.

Area 3. Game Room
There is only 1 tiny Red Orb in this room and it's to the right of the exit. Now you have to deal with the die, It's up to you if you want to fight enemies or not, you will not not be penalized if you rush through this area.
For the quickest way out of this area just roll the following numbers 2, 5, 3, 6, 3.
To simply roll your number of choice all you have to do is hit the die when the number on the top is the number you wish to roll. The numbers appear in the same order each time, i'm not sure if this is the correct order since i didnt plan on writing this down...but here are the numbers off the top of my head. 2, 6, 3, 5, 1, 4.

Area 4. Containment Room

Pretty soon you'll end up fighting Agnus... but it's really a fight against a bunch of sword creatures created by the good Doctor. After the fight you'll recieve Yamato and when it returns to the game you will be standing in front of a blue beam, jump into the light so you can collect a Secret Stash. From the blue beam you should walk right and up the stairs so you can destroy a small stool and then go to the top left corner so you can destroy a small white chair.

Area 5. Foris Falls
When you enter this area you will see a Green Orb directly in front of you, walk forward to collect it and continue forward until you reach the blue light machine. From this machine I want you to start walking right and you'll encounter these items. 1 barrel in the corner, 2 barrels by the door you just cam from, 1 barrel by the blue web and then 2 more barrels nearby. Once you attack the blue light machine the web will go away so you can leave this area (i like to jump over the walls instead of taking the stairs) and before you exit this place you will see 2 more barrels.

Area 6. Angel Creation

As soon as you enter this room you will have to fight and to your right a red web will appear, to the left side of this web there is a single barrel. After this brief fight you will now go up and enter a circle caged area and that will trigger a fight with 2 Angelos. While fighting the Angelo your arm will alert you when you're by the exit so after the fight you should jump down and go left so you can collect the Secret Stash. In this part of the room you will have to fight a few more Angelos before you can leave the area and there is 1 last barrel on the right side of the exit.

Area 7. Underground Lab
Pretty soon you'll be done this mission, right now the red jumpers are activated and here is your chance to get some orbs if you happened to miss any barrels at the start of the mission.

Area 8. Grand Hall
...Guess what, you're in the Grand Hall AGAIN! You know the routine, get the Secret Stash, destroy all chairs and benches and then use the doors on either side of the painting / hole in the wall and just finish the mission.

Mission Complete, I have 6,473 Orbs at 100%

Mission 7
Before we start I would like to let you know that there are no chairs, benches, dumpsters and not even watermelons, instead we have these strange plants that look like eggs. I'll refer to these things as Eggs.

Area 1. Forest Entrance
At the very start of this mission you will see 2 eggs and then I want you to walk forward and right so you can destroy 3 eggs. Now that you've destroyed those eggs you will see a Red Orb Statue and a giant tree on the ground. Inside the tree there are 7 eggs for you to destroy.

Area 2. Windswept Valley

From the start of this area you will be at the top of a cliff, before you jump down and kill the Chimera seeds there are some eggs for you to smash. While near the edge of the cliff I want you to take the left path so you can destroy an egg (there is also a Holy Water further up) and after you do that I want you to go back around and take the right path. When you reach the end of the right path the camera will change and reveal an egg hanging on the wall just below you. Once you smashed that egg you can simply hop down to the ground level and smash the 1 egg to your right and the 2 eggs to your left.(when the cliff is behind you)
Continue to walk forward and before you reach the stairs there are 2 eggs under a tree a little to the right of the stairs, now head up the stairs and walk left around the large fountain so you can smash 2 little eggs that rest on the west side of the fountain.

Area 3. Ruined Church
When you enter this area you will have to defeat quite a few enemies and you might destroy 1 of the eggs durring the fight. On the left by the 1st column there is an egg and then to your right you should break the glass and destroy the 17 eggs that are near Dante's Combo Statue. Now you can leave this area by taking the stairs and as you head to the stairs you will notice an egg in the corner.

Area 4. Ruined Valley

You will come across a blue light machine and once you activate this machine you will have to cross the gap by using the magical platforms. You must destroy all of the Mephisto if you wish to get 100% in orbs. If you happen to fall down you will appear in a cave with a few enemies and you will find a few eggs there. In this area there are 2 flame post and each flame post has 2 eggs nearby.(4 total) There is a Secret Stash on one of the long walkways, just go to the tip and collect the orbs. Now if you fell you will have to activate the lights again and you will have to kill the Mephisto once more.

This underground area is not needed for 100% orbs so there is no point in purposely falling down there but once you do fall down there you will have to collect these orbs. Just remember to collect the orbs whenever you get caught in the Fault's mouth as Dante.

Area 5. Lupis River

Mission 7 is the only time you will enter this area from the right entrance, every other time you enter this area in the upcoming missions you will enter from the left entance where the red roots once stood. When I say left or right entrance you will now know what I am referring to.

From the right entrance I want you to walk forward a little bit and smash the 1 egg that is by a tree and then I want you to run all the way to the left entrance and smash the 2 eggs that are also resting under a tree. Once you smashed those eggs I want you to walk in the water and go under the bridge so you can destroy the 4 hanging eggs and then i want you to jump up to the higher area and stand next to a pillar. While near the pillar that stands on the side closest to the exit I want you to double jump and slash the giant egg that is sitting up there, after that you can leave this area but right before you exit the area you will see 4 small eggs by a tree on your right side.

Area 6. Ancient Plaza
This area has a huge circle in the center of the stage and instead of confusing the reader by giving all of these directions I will make things easy.
The large circle is going to act as a compass for you, when you enter this area you will see 2 large eggs in front of you and this is South of the circle, now go West and you will find 1 egg on the back side of a tree and then go directly East to find 2 eggs on the right side of a tree. Now there is the higher area that is North of the circle and there are 2 eggs a little North West.

Area 7. Windswept Valley
Right now we just made our way back to Area 2 but this time we are on the other side of the wall. I want you to walk up to the first blue wall so you can notice the 2 giant eggs on the left side. Those 2 eggs are destroyed by the Gyro Blade 90% of the time so dont worry if you dont see them after you destroyed the walls. With your first Buster to the Gyro Blade you will most likely destroy the first 2 walls, now destroy the 3rd wall and then look left and high up against the wall and you'll see 2 eggs hanging there.

Area 8. Ruined Valley
This is going to be a bit tricky for us while playing in Heaven or Hades.
When you start walking forward you will instantly be chased by the She-Viper and you will come across a bunch of eggs while running. I'll break this down into 3 sections, before the "break zone", "break zone" and after the "break zone". The "break zone" is the part of the stage she cant destroy. There are 6 eggs in each zone (18 total) the 6 in the 3rd zone are at the very begining so smash them all and do it quickly.

Area 9. Forgotten ruins
In this area you will have 1 egg on your right and then a Combo Statue a little further up. After you destroy the statue you have to walk through this archway and then turn left for an egg that is under a tree. Now you can defeat these enemies and progress forward while destroying the 2 eggs by the Shop Statue.

Area 10. Den of the She Viper
While fighting the boss she will sometimes spawn a Chimera Seed, destroy each one. Once you defeated the boss you can safely destroy the 3 batches of eggs and if you are ever short on health you could just destroy them while fighting the boss.
From the entranceof this area go left and destroy the 3 eggs. From the entrance this time go straight to the wall and then right for another 3 eggs and then from here just make your way to the exit and destroy the last 2 eggs that are to the right of the red roots.

Mission Complete, I have 15,506 Orbs at 100%

We lead a blessed life. May it not change; may it not change us.

Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

Mission 8
Area 1. Ancient Training Ground
From the start of this mission you will go straight a few feet and then turn right but just as you turn right you will see 1 egg that is blending in a bit. Continue forward for a bit and you will see an archway, before you walk through it you should break the 2 eggs on your left. Inside the archway there are two eggs, 1 high up and 1 at the end of the archway on the left side. While you were in the archway the camera was also pointing at another egg that is a few feet after the archway.

Area 2. Lapis River
We've been here before but this time you entered this area from the left entrance just as I mentioned earlier.
See Mission 7, Area 5 if you need the checklist.

Area 3. Ancient Plaza
Once again, we've been here before and this is the "compass" area. See Mission 7. Area 6

Area 4. Windswept Valley

Back again once more but this time the full area is available. For the complete list of items see Mission 7, Areas 7 and 2

Area 5. Ruined Church
See Mission 7, Area 3 but this time you'll exit this area via the door underneath the stairs.

Area 6. Lost Woods
There are 4 roads in this area and each road has 2 eggs. If you were to take the left path you would enter the dark realm. I never go there since it's a waste of time and thats one of the reason i never get 100% on this stage but if you wish to enter this area you will fight a random set of enemies and there are also 4 eggs here, 2 on the left and 2 on the right.

Area 7. Forgotten Ruins
This area is the tricky part of the level and most people only get an A rank for orbs in mission 8 because of this. You will see 2 eggs on your right side and instead of going forward and through the door you must go left and jump off the ledge. A few enemies will appear and you have to collect the eggs from this lower section so...break the egg behind you, go through the arch so you can break the egg and the Combo Statue, now go to the area where you fought Echidna but break the 2 eggs that are near the Shop Statue before the next area.

Area 8. Den of the She Viper
In this area you will have to break the 3 patches of eggs and you must kill the 4 Chimera Seeds. See Mission 7, Area 10 if you need the location of the eggs.

Area 9. Ancient Training Ground

Ok, so you're at the start of the level and you must run through the entire stage again so go forward and kill the enemies that appear after you walk through the archway. After you kill them all I want you to go back through the archway and stand on the other side. There is a column to your right so jump on that and then double jump to the above area and kill the 2 Scarecrow and the 2 Assualt and then grab the 2 eggs that are near the Shop Statue.
Yeah yeah, I know i tricked you but dont worry. Go on and fight Credo.

Mission Complete, I have 10,523 Orbs at 97% since I decided to skip that dark realm in the Lost Woods

Mission 9
Area 1. Gran Album Bridge
In this first room there are 10 items for you to destroy. There are 5 on the left wall and 5 on the right wall and these items appear as
divider, chest, divider, chest, divider

Area 2. Grand Hall
After your fight with the Angelos you will enter this large room. On the main floor there 6 benches, 3 on each side. On the lower left corner of this room there is a Combo Statue, on the exact opposite corner of this room (top right corner) there is a Secret Stash that you'll recieve when you stand against the wall. There is a set of stairs that lead to an outside area and just before this threshold there are 2 vase for you to destroy.

Area 3. Key Chamber
There are 4 dividers in this room, 2 by each laser guarded doorway.

Area 4. The Guantlet
As you run forward in this room you will see a ditch in the ground and there is a high chance that you will automatically leap over the ditch, jump in there and stand in the center so you can collect the orbs from the Secret Stash. From here on out you can finish this area as you normally would and i'm sure you wont miss the Green Orb at the end that sits across from a Shop Statue.

Area 5. Agnus Room

When you enter this area you will see a bunch of chairs and a few tables, these items do not give you any orbs so feel free to ignore them. Walk a bit closer so you can activate the cutscene and then begin the Agnus fight. Here is a quick tip, if you skip the scene make sure you quickly dodge left or right so Agnus doesnt hit you with that first strike he always performs. Durring the fight make sure you destroy the cages on the left and right sides of this room and try to destroy as many creatures that Agnus spawns. Grab the swords and toss them at Agnus and grab the dogs to shoot a fireball at Agnus.

Mission Complete, I have 5,912 Orbs at 100%

Mission 10
Area 1. Agnus Room
Simply destroy the 3 cages and ignore the chairs and tables.

Area 2. The Guantlet
Same as before, but in reverse so grab the Green Orb, fight the Mephisto and Faust, make your way to the lower area and grab the Secret Stash. If you want to, you can skip the Green Orb and pick it up after the fight.

Area 3. Key Chamber
Same as before, 2 dividers by each laser guarded door.

Area 4. Grand Hall
Same as before, break all of the benches by jumping over the laser, break the Combo Statue, collect the Secret Stash and then the 2 vase by the exit.

Area 5. Security Corridor
As soon as you enter this room you will see a bench against the wall on Nero's left, there is another bench on the other wall but it is hidden by the camera angle. Make your way through the laser grid and destroy the little gate that is in front of the threshold.

Area 6. Spinning Blade Room (Unofficial Name)
As soon as you drop down you will see 3 small crates on the ground.

Area 7. Experiment Disposal
You start this area inside a long a narrow hallway and as you're walking you will end up fighting 2 Angelos and then another 2 as you exit the hallway. There is a Red Orb Statue to your right as soon as you exit the narrow hallway. Continue forward through the cage and destroy the 4 statues that stand in front of you. Now you will activate a lift, once you reach the higher area you will see a small gate in front of you and then 2 more statues.

Area 8. Meeting Room
Look at all of those chairs around that table, breaking all of those items will give you 100,000 red orbs... go ahead and break em'.
Huh? What's wrong? What do you mean you didnt get any orbs? I think your game is glitched... ahem.
Fight these 2 Angelos and the group of dogs (SoS and higher) and then continue on forward so you can destroy the 4 candle holders in the hallway ahead.

Area 9. Ascension Chamber
You will now view a cutscene and then begin to fight Dante. Durring this fight there are 12 items for you to destroy. On the short wall you will see a mantle with 5 items on and around it. The items are candle holder, chest, candle holder and 2 vase on the mantle, the same 5 items appear on the other mantle that is directly across the room.
On one of the long walls you will see 2 candle holders, one on each side of the red web.

Mission Complete, I have 11,110 Orbs at 100%

Mission 11
Area 1. Advent Chamber
At the start of this stage, you're on the first floor and it basically goes around in a circle. I want you to move forward while taking the right set of stairs so you can come across the Combo Statue first. This statue requires a tripple S rank and a quick way to achieve a SSS is by using level 3 Exceed moves, High Roller and Split to gain
SS and then SSS. Continue left so you can start striking the blue light machine so you can Snatch your way to the next floor.

2nd Floor
In this area all you have to do is defeat the 2 Mephisto and the one Faust and then collect the Green Orb that is nearby and then take the lift to the next floor.

3rd Floor
When you reach this floor I want you to continue forward and make your way to the Shop Statue area. In this section you will see another lift with a gate in front of it so smash the gate and then stand on the lift so you can collect the first Secret Stash.

The next section will have 2 sets of grip lights for you to make your way across and some of the lights will have a Red Orb above. I want you to take the lights across and collect the 2 orbs by jumping on the light and when you collected the 2nd orb I want you to fall down and collect the orb that is down below.

The 2nd set of lights will be next and this time you dont have to jump on the lights, I always wait for the 2nd light to start rising and then I Snatch my way across when the 2nd light reaches it's peak and that allows me to collect the Red Orbs. There is also a lower area so drop down and fight the 2 silver Angelo and the 1 gold Angelo. After the fight make your way back up and take the lights across but before you move forward I want you to stand on the wall that is just after the 3rd light so you can collect the 2nd Secret Stash. Now you can move forward and fight an Angelo as he spawns above the blue light machine, after you kill him I want you to keep running right so you can collect a Green Orb that is on the ground and then jump on top of the wall so you can grab a Red Orb that is high up. (double jump and Snatch)

4th Floor
On this platform there is a White Orb on the lower right corner and a Green Orb on the lower left corner, you can collect them before or after the fight. So now trigger the fight and destroy all of the Angelo and then head back to the 3rd Floor by the Shop Statue.

3rd Floor
This is the final section when it comes to orbs. In this area you will end up fighting 4 groups of enemies.
3 Scarecrow, 2 Gold Angelo, 2 Scarecrow and 2 Silver Angelo.
When you defeat all of these guys you can take the lift and fight the boss. If you are short on stlye points you can fight these same enemies 2 more times by going down the stairs just a bit and then return so the enemies can spawn again.

Mission Complete, I have 5,626 Orbs at 100%

We lead a blessed life. May it not change; may it not change us.

Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

Mission 17
The first half of this mission is a revisit of Mission 2 so I will skip this part. You know what to do when it comes to area revisits.

Area 4. Business District / Terrace
This area is a long street that loops around, you will end up fighting a bunch of enemies after you take a few steps so try to kill them all while staying in the street. This section will be easy to navigate since all items are on the sidewalk and I will start off on the right side. This is what you will see just by simply standing on the sidewalk, buildings on your right and the street to your left. Now just walk forward and destroy these items as they appear.
Bench to your right, pillar to the left, bench to the right, pillar to the left, bench to the right, pillar to the left,
bench to the right and a pillar to the left.
Now you will head back to the start of this area while taking the sidewalk on the other side and then you will see
a pillar to your left, bench to your right, pillar to your right, pillar to your right, bench to your right, pillar to your left, bench to your right and a pillar to your left.
Now stay on this side walk and do a 180 so you can leave this area but before you start running, make sure you grab the 1 Red Orb that is to your left on top of a Blue Awning.

Area 5. Opera House Plaza
We will do the same as before, start on the right sidewalk and move forward while hugging the wall to your right and you will come across a pillar by a gate but it doesnt have any orbs, instead it is hiding a Secret Mission. Now head to the archway but break the statue that is to your left against the guard rail.

Head forward and fight the 2 Mephisto, 1 Faust and 2 Gold Angelo, after the fight is over you can walk to the stairs but make sure you break the pillar that is in the center just before the stairs.

Area 6. Opera House
There are no benches this time around... just Agnus so do your thing.

Mission Complete, I have 12,393 Orbs at 100%
Mission 18
Area 1. Skies of Fortuna
After the first blue jumper I like to ignore all enemies and just take the blue jumper to the left and keep on running left until you reach the cannon. While running I always use Trickster to avoid damage... this is Heaven and Hades ya' know. Now fire the cannon at him... but make sure this platform is never destroyed so hit him with the cannon before he starts his attack animation.

While he is down you should take the right jumper and destroy the gem and kill the Angelo then take the right pad so you can first kill the Fault and then the gem and after this you should take the left jumper pad so you can destroy the gem and a silver Angelo. (use the shotgun when you are close to any gem) He should recover soon after this and now you will appear on a new platform.

From here, once again you will ignore these enemies and quickly take the left jumper pad so you can shoot the cannon at him again. This time I want you to take the left pad so you can fight the 1 Angelo and the 2 Fault. From here you will be able to destroy 3 gems but only break the 2 that are close to you and then take the jumper to your left so you can break the gem on his back and quickly kill the 2 Angelo before the Savior recovers.

Now you will do the same as before, ignore enemies, take left jump and shoot the cannon, take the left pad and kill the 1 Angelo and now DT and shoot the gem on the head with Ebony & Ivory. Ignore the 2 Fault and take the jumper pad on the left and just run by this area and ignore the 2 Angelo that spawn and take the pad to your left. On this platform there is a Fault that you must kill quickly and then DT so you can shoot Ebony & Ivory at the last gem.

Now you can finish the mission as you normally would.

Mission Complete, I have 1,919 Orbs at 100%

Mission 19
Area 1. Machina Ex Deus
there is nothing in this area so just run forward.

Area 2. Stairway to Heaven
This area has multiple levels and it's controlled by that overused mini game.

Floor 1 - Nothing here, just roll a 4 so you can exit and fight a few Angelos.
Floor 2 - There is a Green Orb in the top left corner and a White Orb in the top right corner, roll a 6 to exit and fight Berial.
Floor 3 - There are 2 Green Orbs, 1 in each corner and then roll a 4 to exit and fight Dagon.
Floor 4 - Green Orb in the left and a White Orb in the right corner, roll a 4 to exit and fight Echidna. Remember to kill the Seeds and to destroy the 3 stashes of eggs.
Floor 5 - There are 2 Green Orbs, 1 in each corner, roll a 5 or a 6 to exit and fight Agnus. Remember to destroy the 3 cages, 1 to the left and 2 to the right.
Floor 6 - You will start in between 4 pillars so break them and finish the mission.

You might have to land on the Red spots in order to fight a few enemies and build up your style instead of just flying by this area. I sometimes land on 2 red spots while on the 2nd Floor so i can fight a bunch of Scarecrow. (around 8 each time)

Mission Complete, I have 10,353 Orbs at 100%

Mission 20
This is the hardest mission to find orbs...no matter how many times i played this stage i could not find a single orb....
so we all fail.

Just kidding, zero orbs means that we get an instant S on this mission, just worry about style and time.

Thank you, Arigato, Grazie, Merci, Gracias and Toda
for using this guide and i hope you all enjoy it.

We lead a blessed life. May it not change; may it not change us.

The Bloody Palace Walkthrough

Credit: Artemis Artium

Okay, I will start by saying that this is a walkthough on how to get through Bloody Palace. I made this because I have received several messages requesting that I write a guide for BP. Style will be completely up to you. As long as you don’t go complete cheapo on the enemies, you should be fine. I am writing this as I sit here with the controller and do it myself. It has been my experience that it’s easier to get style as Nero since you can use your devil arm to manhandle enemies. However, I will be using Dante as he has the Trickster style and it can be used instead of dodge to avoid almost all damage. This walkthrough will still offer valuable information even if you use Nero.

Beginning Notes:

  • Use Trickster instead of dodge. Make sure it is completely leveled out.
  • Make sure you have at least TWO TO THREE HOURS to invest in Bloody Palace. It would suck to get so far to have your wife tell you that you need to go to the store. (Grrrrrrr…)
  • The Shotgun is good at close range, use it a lot.
  • Devil Trigger fills up quickly if you are stylish.
  • Use DT to refill your health between round.
  • Mix it up, although you get points for removing enemies from the board quickly, it’s not always the best thing to do.
  • Manipulate stinger and high time. They will get you off the ground and out of harms way while you can still work on an enemy.
  • It is ideal for you to have the maximum vital and DT gauges.
  • Remember your styles!
  • Don’t use automatic. You may find that you want to stay in the air longer than expected.

The First Circle

Stage 1-4: You should not have any trouble with any of these boards. Kill them all as quickly as possible.

Stage 5: Try to focus on one Angelo at a time. If the other gets a little too close for comfort, send a stinger his was to deter his interest.

Stage 6: You will be met by three Mephistos here, nothing too hard. Just double jump and use Pandora’s chain gun to take away their cloaks one by one. As Nero, just use snatch a lot.

Stage 7: Whip out your scatter gun for this one. Just shoot and stinger, shoot and stinger, rinse and repeat.

Stage 8: SNACK BREAK! You will have a lot of Chimera this round to refill your health or just give you orbs. Stinger to keep out of the way and use high time to deal damage to one at a time.

Stage 9: This round you have two scarecrows in the mix. Take them out before they become a problem and grab some green orbs from the Chimera while you are at it.

Stage 10: You will have about two-dozen scarecrows to deal with. Jump in the middle and get some style points by hacking away without the use of RB. Keep a close eye though, you may need to dash out of the way!

The Second Circle

Stage 11: Two lizards wait for you here. Switch to Gilgamesh and make soup out of these guys, one at a time.

Stage 12: Take care of these two bullies with the Rebellion. Stinger is very useful here.

Stage 13: This board is best done by taking out the lizards first. If you don’t they will shoot you with their thorns while you attempt to take out the Angelos, costing you a unnecessary drop in health.

Stage 14: Switch to Pandora and use the chain gun to quickly take grand pappy out of the sky. Keep an eye out for his laser fingers, as you will need to tap B while in Trickster to maneuver midair.

Stage 15: As soon as these guys spawn, lock onto the Golden Angelo. Focus all of your attacks on him so that he cannot command his underlings. If you are lucky, you will take out one of the Blue Anglos with the crossfire. All in all, just watch your back as you do this.

Stage 16: Take out the razor baddie in the back first, then the rest is Child's play.

Stage 17: Two Golden Angelos await you in this board. Just be patient and focus on one at a time. A shotgun blast from the side usually stirs them up a bit, so do it… A LOT!

Stage 18: Ah yes, my dear Blitz. She can be intimidating, but she is really a pussycat. Yet another reason I like playing as Dante. Hammer her with scattershot while you jump around. Avoid any and all attack she may throw at you with Trickster. Once she simmers down, switch on over to Gilgamesh and unleash in DT. Continue until she resists... Depending on how much damage you were able to inflict, she will turn red or go back to yellow. Either way, the strategy is the same… shoot her a bunch with scattershot.

Stage 19: Just manipulate stinger until all of these ***-bound pooches are dead. Simple enough?

Stage 20 – Berial: I have received many questions about Berial and it’s just a process of analyzing his attacks. Stay away from him at first, pelt him with scattershot and if you have a full disaster gauge, switch to Gunslinger and use Pandora’s gunship. Unleash the entire arsenal twice with B. I will lead all the DT for you to time although I recommend you wait for him to burn out. When he does burn out, go in for some heavy damage with Gilgamesh. When he stands up, switch to Lucifer and fill his chest full of the flaming blades. When he starts to do his radius explosion, jump away fast and use Trickster to get away even faster.

When he punches the ground, you know to stop what you are doing and run, don’t jump, just run. He will usually follow this with his charge. Always aim for his head, jump and use Trickster to teleport through him. On your way down to the ground, you may as well pelt him with Pandora’s chain gun. Once you learn these moves, he will be a synch.

The Third Circle

Stage 21: Kill the Frost first and then focus Pandora’s chain gun on the Mephistos to get them out of the air.

Stage 22: Take out the two Frosts first. Then use the chain gun on old grand pappy to get him out of the air. Once he hits the ground, switch to Gilgamesh to tear him a new one. After two cycles he should be dead.

Stage 23: This board is pretty much a free for all. Stinger will be greatly appreciated while keeping you moving and some scattershot wouldn’t hurt either.

Stage 24: Take out a couple *** hounds at the start. One or two is okay to have running around, but if you let too many out, they will cause trouble. Then you need to worry about the Lizards. Stinger them and move on to the rest of the hounds.

Stage 25: Kill one Lizard and let the Blitz appear. (Her name is Sandra!) While the Blitz is sidetracked with the Lizards, you can pelt her with scattershot. Once she is out of beast mode, switch to Gilgamesh and own her sorry butt. If there are any Lizards left, which I doubt, kill them off.

Stage 26: On this board, go right after the Blitz. The hounds may not sidetrack her as much as Lizards, but they won’t be too much of a problem if you keep jumping around. As always, scattershot, Gilgamesh, DEAD! Deal with the hounds once “Jessica” is dead. (This Blitz has a name too!)

Stage 27: Kill the two Frosts first while frequently using stinger to offset the aim of the Blue Angelos. Once the Frosts are dead, deal with the Angelos accordingly.

Stage 28: Use stinger against the Lizards while watching out for the swords in the air. Once the Lizard is dead, use the scattershot to knock the swords out of the air and kill them.

As Nero, the swords can be used to kill the Lizards, but be careful not to get grazed by the other ones flying nearby.

Stage 29: Focus on the Blitz (Terri) first off. Keep moving and fire the scattershot at her. While you are shooting at the Blitz, you will kill off a lot of the swords. I recommend you use the Rebellion when her lightning wears off so that you keep moving with the stinger. Once she is dead, move on to the rest of the swords.  Poor Terri…

Stage 30: Kill off the Frosts and then the Lizards will come. Use the Rebellion for the Lizards until the Blitz arrives. Once she arrives, pelt the scattershot and let her deal with the Lizards. I recommend you stick with the Rebellion on this Blitz so that you can stinger out of the way of thorns in case she doesn’t kill the Lizards fast enough.

The Fourth Circle

Stage 31: SNACK BREAK! Then it’s interrupted by Mephistos. Chain gun them to the ground, then stinger them further into that which they landed.

Stage 32: Chain gun grand pappy to the ground and line up your stinger shots right to take out the scarecrows at the same time. If you miss, pick up the slack after he is dead.

Stage 33: Kill the big baddie first. Once he is dead, chain gun the Mephistos and Gilgamesh their remains.

Stage 34: Kill the Frost first then go to town on the Mephistos. Just keep moving…

Stage 35: Pretty simple board. I think you know why…

Stage 36: As soon as grand pappy appears, deal with him with the chain gun and Gilgamesh. At this point, if the scarecrows are not dead, kill them.

Stage 37: At the very beginning of this board, take out the Lizards with Gilgamesh. If the Mephistos get too close, then switch to Rebellion and stinger away. After you get rid of the Lizards, the Mephistos await.

Stage 38: Kill one of the Mephistos right from the start. As soon as the Blitz appears, start with the scattergun. The Blitz will usually focus on the Mephisto, but then again, a half-demon boy in chaps is also very tempting for these electrical babes. Just play it safe and don’t get in too big of a hurry. Take your time and use Trickster.

Stage 39: SNACK BREAK! Deal with the grand pappy with the chain gun and Rebellion. Use stinger once he hits the ground so you keep moving. Once you are through with him, SNACK BREAK!

Stage 40 – Bael: And now, I present to you, the easiest boss fight in the game! All you need to watch out for is when he spews ice and when he tries to swallow you. If he manages to swallow you, just go DT and whack him a bit.

Remember to always stay at his side when attacking him. Use Gilgamesh to retain style while plowing into his side. When he starts to disappear, jump up and use the chain gun on him multiple times. Beat his nymphs senseless and avoid their obvious attacks. Also, you can usually fill up your disaster gauge completely by using the chain gun on them and then using your sword.

That pretty much does it for this boss.

The Fifth Circle

*At this point in time, you have learned valuable techniques from reading so far. I will now only mention missions of significant frustration because, honestly, if you got this far you are most likely going all the way through.*

Stage 41-46: There will be a few snack breaks as well as a Blitz and a few Chimera/scarecrows. The main thing is to not get too close to any of them. Be patient and when you go in for the kill, be stylish. Use your scatter gun on the infected when they are flailing and when they calm down, kick the crap out of them.

Stage 47: Take out the Gold Angelo first, as usual. Then the rest should follow. Use Trickster and the Rebellion to catch enemies in the crossfire. Once the Gold Angelo is dead, you should only have to deal with a few Chimera and one Angelo.

Stage 48-50: There are a lot of infected, a grand pappy and other assorted enemies. If you deal with them as usual, there should be no problem. There is a lot of Chimera around to give you health as well.

We lead a blessed life. May it not change; may it not change us.

Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

The Sixth Circle

Stage 51-55: You will have a lot of scarecrows, flying swords, and razor baddies in this set. You will also have an Angelo and a grand pappy. Again, nothing new, just take your time.

Stage 56-59: You will encounter razor baddies, infected, Angelos, scarecrows, hounds, and SNACK BREAKS. All in all, pretty easy just remember the order of operation. Take out the greatest threat or enemies with ranged attacks first. Never forget this…

Stage 60 – Echidna: This is a fairly simple boss as Nero, but as Dante, it gets a bit confusing. All you need to know is that her tail WILL hurt you, so move. When she flies around, use the chain gun to hurt her and Trickster to dodge her midair. When she stands tall, switch to Lucifer and impale her as much as possible before she moves on.

When she plants into the ground, be advised of her roots that will come up and swat at you. Use Gilgamesh when she is in this stance. When she goes up and craps out a snack break, jump up there and use stinger on here and air hike when she swings her lofty locks at you.

When she enters and exits any stance, there will always be a chance you can be injured. Always move out of the way and use Trickster to avoid damage.

When you see her health dwindling, don’t think she is done for. BE PATIENT or you may find yourself starting from board one again.

The Seventh Circle

Stage 61: This stage will be a relief compared to the coming boards. Just remember to stay behind the Angelos as much as possible. Use whichever sword you are most comfortable with. Personally I switch constantly when fighting Angelos.

Stage 62: Spam stinger at the beginning to get rid of the sharks. They will become a hassle if you try to kill the Angelos first. Once you are shark-free, go after the Blue Angelos.

Stage 63: This Blitz will attack the Angelos, so she is your first priority. Take out the Blitz using your shotgun and Gilgamesh. Once she is dead, if Angelos remain, take them out.

Stage 64: Very easy board. Just take out the Angelo and keep moving. Then deal with the swords.

Stage 65: There are a bunch of Angelos in this stage, so don’t get cocky. You should try to get the Golden Angelo first, but if not, it shouldn’t matter too much.

Stage 66: Go for the hounds first on this one. After you kill two or so, it shouldn’t matter if you happen to lock onto the Angelo.

Stage 67: You will almost have the Blitz dead by the time the first Angelo appears. Don’t get sidetracked and finish the job. Once the Blitz is dead, continue to kill the Angelos.

Stage 68: The scarecrows pose no immediate threat on this board. Kill the Angelos first.

Stage 69: Take out the Frosts first and make sure to use the Rebellion. That way, you can get the Angelo in crossfire every now and then.

Stage 70: This stage can be intimidating. However, I assure you, the Angelos will stop coming… eventually. If you can filter through all of the madness and manage to lock onto a Gold Angelo, I suggest going DT and using stinger whenever the Blue Angelos start to charge with their lances. They will usually run into each other dealing heavy damage while you only attack one. Make sure your in DT or you will not go through the Golden Angelo.

The Eighth Circle

Stage 71: Very easy board. As usual, whip out the scattergun and go to town.

Stage 72: The only difference in this round is the razor baddie that spawns in the beginning. You know what to do…

Stage 73: They now replace the razor baddie with a Frost. Don’t disappoint me…

Stage 74: It can be hard to isolate enemies on this board. There are hounds and sharks. I would personally go after the sharks first, but the targeting can get complicated. Just do you best and spam stinger. You will get through…

Stage 75: I shouldn’t have to tell you by now, but kill the sharks before going after the Angelo. It will make this board a little easier.

Stage 76: For this one, I would try to spam stinger a lot to kill the sharks. If you are running low on health, go DT and spam. You will most likely hit the swords like using stinger for the sharks. After the sharks are dead, use the scattergun to clean up the rest…

Stage 77: As Dante, be tapping Y. As Nero, be tapping B. There are a bunch of hounds waiting for stinger or buster.

Stage 78: The hounds are the biggest problem here since their only attacks are ranged. Take most of them out first before moving onto the Frosts.

Stage 79: Take out the sharks with stinger first. Since you are using stinger, the hounds will have a hard time hitting you and you won’t have sharks coming up from under you. Once the sharks and hounds are dead, get ready to lob lead with the scattergun, there are lots of swords to shoot.

Stage 80 – Angelo Credo: If you are like me, you hate Credo after fighting him in HeII or HeII mode. Here is my simple strategy for him:

You should realize that he gives you plenty of time to shoot him. So use that to your advantage. Use the chain gun to fill up your disaster gauge while using Trickster to avoid anything he throws at you (Spears) or tries to attack with. Once it’s full, you can switch to Gunslinger and unload two all out assaults on him with B. Switch back to Trickster and repeat.

You can also throw some stinger blasts into the mix. It will help out a lot. Also a good thing to try is switching to Gunslinger and have your shotgun out. Press RB, Forward + B. He will lunge and fire two shells in his belly. It is a very good technique.

When you get Credo low on health, he will start flying a lot and making swords surround you and stab at you in turn. Use Trickster to counter balance this and keep the odds on your side. Use the chain gun while you are midair and the Rebellion when you are on the ground. Every time your disaster gauge fills up, switch to Gunslinger and use the gunship.

This may take a few tries, but remember: Every time you lose, you will get better getting back to that point. Never get discouraged!

The Ninth Circle

*Some enemies will go into DT now if you make them wait too long. Don’t worry though, it will be compared to DMD mode. Pretty easy… just take your time.*

Stage 81: Very simple round. I like how they always give you crap opponents after a boss fight. It lets you redeem yourself I guess. LoL!

Stage 82: A bunch of Mephistos… yippee! Use you chain gun, Gilgamesh, and Trickster… a lot!

Stage 83: A bunch of Frosts… crap! Make sure you keep them all together so you won’t get jumped. That’s all I have to say.

Stage 84: There are a couple infected scarecrows on this board. Kill them first, ONLY WHEN THEY ARE CALM! Then you will have plenty of Chimera for a snack break afterwards.

Stage 85: Here you will have to kill two Blitz simultaneously. It’s not as hard as it sounds. If you have a full disaster gauge, switch to Gunslinger and Pandora. Press RB, Forward + B to drop the case right in front of the two Blitz. It will take away all of their electricity. Go DT and stinger the crap out of them. If your luck is anything like mine, you will only get one to the red. In which case, just keep going with the scatter gun until one dies or loses electricity. This is a fairly tough round, so don’t be too hard on yourself if you die.

Stage 86: Here is an easy stage with three Angelos. Kill the Gold one first and use Pandora to fill up your disaster gauge some. You may need it later…

Stage 87: Take out the hounds first, as usual. Then go to your scatter gun for the swords. Nothing new here.

Stage 88: Kill the sharks first. If you are lucky, you will get some heavy damage in on the Angelos before you have to fight them.

Stage 89: Although the Blitz will not go after the razor baddies with a passion, as long as you are jumping around, they will not cause you trouble. Take care of the Blitz and then the razor baddies. Nothing too big here… just Trickster away when one of the razor baddies tries to charge you.

Stage 90: You will have a ton of scarecrows, a couple razor baddies, and a snack break on this board. Deal with them accordingly…

The Tenth Circle

Stage 91: You will have three grand pappies to deal with in this round. They will come one at a time as long as you defeat them fast enough. Use the chain gun and Gilgamesh to take them off the board quickly.

Stage 92: You will have three Gold and a bunch of Blue Angelos to deal with on this board. Take them out one by one. Like I always say, “be patient.” They are not going to tear you apart. Take this time to charge up your disaster gauge with the chain gun and rocket launcher. Don’t spend to much time charging up Pandora for the rockets because you will get charged by the Angelos. Have fun!

Stage 93: All I can say for this round is: Spam stinger, use Trickster, and keep all of the Lizards in one large mosh pit.

Stage 94: Deal with the infected quickly or you will soon be overwhelmed. There will be three groups of infected, then you will have some Angelos afterward.

Stage 95: You will have two waves of hounds separated by snack breaks. Enjoy! Just use stinger, the scatter gun, and Trickster. You know what? Use Trickster even when you don’t think you will need it… it’s just too cool to not use.

Stage 96: To start off this round, have your scatter gun ready. Once you deal with all of the swords, be ready for some Angelos.

Stage 97: There will be plenty of Mephistos at the start of this board. Take advantage of your chain gun and the Rebellion. Don’t worry if you can’t get one dead after one drop. Keep an eye out for the other ones as well. These Mephistos will go into DT if given the chance. Don’t give them that chance. As soon as the razor baddies show up, deal with them, even if there is a Mephisto or two hanging around. You don’t need the baddies bouncing around and taking away your health.

Stage 98: You will have two infected Lizards and two infected scarecrows in this round. Be extremely patient and only attack when they are calm. When they are agitated, power up your disaster gauge by using the chain gun. After you kill them, SNACK BREAK!

Stage 99: There is no real “strategy” for this board. I just want to tell you, good luck. The next two boards will be a breeze next to this. You may want to put the controller down for a few minutes and rest your hands. Go get a real snack and come back. You will need the patience and concentration of a saint as you battle wave after wave AFTER WAVE of Angelos. Again, good luck. If you get past this, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Stage 100 – Agnus: BE PATIENT, BE PATIENT, BE PATIENT! You really need to pay attention on this fight. Listen for when he says that your power will be his and things like that. When he says that, you need to either stinger him a bunch or get ready to jump/dodge out of the way. Also watch for when he starts to swing his sword. There is nothing special about Agnus in BP. He is the same old bug that you fought before. Just own him and get it over with.

If you have a full disaster gauge, don’t worry about wasting it on Agnus. You will have plenty of opportunities to fill it back up against Doppelganger in the next round. I cannot stress enough how you need to take your time and be observant during this fight especially.

Limbo

Stage 101 – Doppelganger Dante: This stage is surprisingly easy. Keep your distance and make sure you know when to get out of the way. Every little grunt he makes is a cue to an attack of his. Use the chain gun when he is in midair to knock him down and slash down on him with the Rebellion when he is unaware.

As Nero, the easiest thing to do is stay midair and snatch and buster him. Keep doing it… About the only damage he will inflict on you is with his shotgun, but it’s really not that big of a deal.

I wish you luck!

I sincerely hope this has helped you complete the Blood Palace. It can be a long and hard endeavor, but it is worth it.

This is all my own original work. Please do not steal it. If you would like to use it, please ask my permission and post the link. Do not copy and paste this please.

This took about three days to write. Please discuss as much as you want, but please do not flame anyone for their opinion.

Game FAQ

Credit: Artemis Artium

Hopefully this will cut down on all of the frequently repeated questions. I hope if you are new to this game and have a “quick question” that you will look in here first as it is probably listed below. I have composed this list after watching the forum questions and receiving hundreds of messages. Here are the most commonly asked questions. I will add more as I see them popping up. Thanks and have a good game today!

1. What?! I saved at the boss of the mission last night and went to bed. This morning I load my save and what? I have to start over?! – Yes, saving will only save the mission you are on and all of your orbs and proud souls. This adds challenge to the game and is not inferior.

2. What the heck, where am I supposed to go after I destroy the glass with the flying swords in Mission 06? – Well, remember that you opened up the waterfall? You need to go there. Go upstairs to where you broke through the painting. There is a door on your immediate left and right. Take one (It doesn’t matter which one.) and follow through till you get to the back. You don’t need to fight the Frosts, just run if you are in a hurry. Once you get back there, you will see the bridge.

3.What are the blue statue things for? – Those are combat adjudicators. You attack them and use style (Don’t spam one move over and over.) to get them to yield their blue orb fragment. Some will take a longer time and higher grade to break.

4.What are the red statue things for? – Those are the same as the blue except only Dante can break these ones.

5.What the heck, when do I play as Dante? – You will have to beat Mission 11 as Nero first, then you get to play as Dante.

6. What is “Automatic” and what is it for? – This will make the more complicated moves “just happen” once you purchase them. You can also use snatch, as well as other moves, faster than normal with automatic on. However, you may find it hard to avoid attacks if you are constantly doing moves that you did not intend to. I suggest you do NOT use it.

7. I cannot beat “XX” boss, how do I do it? – Well, until I have the time to make a boss blitz guide, you will just have to use the search button at the top left or ask. We prefer you use the search button first.

8.How do I get different ranks at the end of the mission? – Well that is determined by how well you play. You need to use style, collect all the orbs in the level, and beat it fast. There are several other guides stickied on the main page to help you out with that. I don’t want to steal anyone’s thunder.

9.I did what I was supposed to for an achievement but it didn’t unlock. What gives? – You need to finish the mission you are currently on for most achievements to unlock. Don’t worry it’s not glitched.

10.How do I unlock the Super Characters? – You must beat Dante Must Die mode.

11.How do I unlock Son of Sparda mode? – You must beat Devil Hunter mode.

12.How do I unlock the Bloody Palace? – You must beat Devil Hunter mode.

13.How do I unlock Dante Must Die mode? – You must beat Son of Sparda mode.

14.How do I unlock Heaven or HeII mode? – You must beat Son of Sparda mode.

15.How do I unlock HeII or HeII mode? – You must beat Dante Must Die mode.

16.Are there any unlockable character costumes in this game like there was in DMC 2? – No. The only “costumes” are the Super Characters of Dante and Nero.

17.I have a question about the story, where do I ask? – You can post in the forum or research it on google. I recommend using google as it will answer your questions faster.

18.Am I going to miss out on anything by playing DMC 4 first? – No. This is a good game and it will not make much of a difference if you play this first.

19.What order do the four game go in, chronologically? – They go in this order: DMC 3, DMC 1, DMC 4, and then DMC 2 is way out in the future…

20.Why is this game so hard?! – It’s not that it’s hard, you just need to practice. Try it on a lower difficulty setting. Practice makes perfect!

21.Is using items cheating? – LoL! No, it is not cheating. Items are there for you to use. However, if you are using a lot of items then perhaps you should be playing on a lower difficulty setting.

22.When do I get new weapons as Nero? – You don’t get new weapons as Nero. Nero only gets upgrades to his arm. Dante will get three new weapons. He will get one gun and two swords.

23.Is there a lot of backtracking in this game? – Yes. Just like all of the other DMC games, you do a lot of backtracking. Only this time, you don’t fight the same enemies with the same character. You will fight most bosses once as Nero and once as Dante.

24.Who is Sparda?Sparda was a knight in the Emporer of the Underworld's (Mundus') army. Sparda defeated and sealed away Mundus and the underworld 2,000 years prior to Devil May Cry 1, effectively becoming the king of the Human world. (Contributed by: ROW injustice.)

25.Who is this Vergil guy I keep hearing people talk about?! – Vergil is Dante’s brother. You will hear a lot about him because many speculate that Nero is supposed to be Vergil.

26.I thought Dante’s brother was Yamato? – No, that is Vergil’s katana. It can be confusing as the big organic sword is named Sparda (Dante’s father.). The Yamato was handed down from Sparda to Vergil and it now possesses Vergil’s soul.

27.Who is the glowing figure above Nero when he is in Devil Trigger? – That is Vergil’s soul.

28.I hear a voice along with Nero when he is in Devil Trigger. Who is it? – That is Vergil’s voice.

29.Why do Vergil and Credo sound so much alike? – They sound so much alike because they are voiced by the same artist, Dan Southworth.

30.Some of these secret missions are impossible! How are you supposed to do them? – Well I wrote a guide for them located here. I hope this helped but remember they are not impossible. Just use your imagination…

Mission Statistics

Important Note - Requirements for stylish ranks are identical between Human and Devil Hunter, and a generally higher requirement is shared between Son of Sparda and Dante Must Die, though Clear Time and total rank requirements vary between all modes. In some missions, the style score is uniform in all difficulties. In the case of Stylish Points, "Normal" and "Hard" will be used for the two categories.

[*Note: the Prima guide lists the Human Mode B rank as 18:30 and the C as 12:30. They may have just been transposed, but as the B rank directly above for mission 17 was 18:30, it may also have been an unintentional duplication--in which case these two figures are both incorrect. Given that Devil Hunter's C-rank is less than 18:30, it may be that the C for this mission is in fact 12:30 and the B something between that and 9:00.]

Final Words

I want to thank everyone who has taken the time and energy to write guides and FAQs for this game. (And all other games.) It is a lot of work and it is very appreciated.

A special thanks goes out to: MM (Mystery Mod), Son ALA, Angel Artium, Dan Birlew, Bloody Baronness, Solaris Paradox, and Zoidberg UK.

Keep in mind that the mist will take you to the same place each time. Once you get to a bridge that you can jump over the side, do that and go fight Echidna.

Ummmmmmmmm... Yes. You need to collect everything that has to do with Blue orbs for that achievement. If that did not answer your question, I apologize. Maybe you could rephrase?

R: Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

Sorry, I'm italian... now i'll try to explain better my problem:

Q: How players can extend the vitality gauge to max capacity?
A: Collecting all the Blue Spheres and all the Blue Orbs Fragment in the game, four fragments give a Blue Sphere and every Blue Sphere adds a green rectangle in the vitality gauge.

Q: Where to find the Blue Spheres and Blue Orbs Fragment?
A: In the shop there are 6 Blue Spheres to buy, in the game there are 12 hidden fragments and 12 secret missions with a blue fragment prize... 12 + 12 = 24 fragments : 4 = 6 Blue Spheres

We start the game with 6 green rectangles in the vitality gauge... we can buy six green rectangles in the shop and obtain 6 more rectangles completing secret missions and finding all hidden fragments with a total of 6+6+6=18 rectangles... how to reach 20 rectangles to have extended the vitality gauge to max capacity?
we need 8 more fragments, where to get them?

LoL! You make this sound like an elementary school math problem. LoL!

You also have to attack the combat adjudicators. They will give you a blue orb fragment each as well.

Re: R: Re: R: Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

The combat adjudicators are the statues that you hit and they slither around. For each statue you must reach a certain style rank. Then they will explode and give you a blue orb or red orbs if you already got that one. They are all very obvious except for one.

It is on the mission as Dante where you are trying to get out of the HQ before it blows up. When you have to fight the three Angelos, go up the stairs until you get to the room with the big cage elevator. Go around the corner on the main floor of that room and their should be a pink combat adjudicator right there for Dante to use.

Re: R: Re: R: Re: Devil May Cry 4 Compilation of FAQ’s and Guides

I wouldn't want to just tag such an awesome thread, so I guess I'll ask a question.

Which achievement would you say comes first, Proud Millionaire or Legendary Devil Hunter, and if possible how many hours of play for whichever takes longer?  If you can't tell, I'm somewhat of a achievement junkie, but I'm also a hardcore completionist, so I plan on getting 1000/1000, no matter how long it takes.

Stats as of 9/5/09

Completed XBLA: 103/137
Completed Retail: 75/95
Gamerscore Completion: 95.34%

Proud Millionaire will definitely come first. I have no idea how long it would take. I know a couple of people who got 100% on this game in ten days. Then again, they both played non-stop. LoL!
