If anyone out there can explain how to set up a good gear ratio or even share your setup, this would be greatly appreciated!

It varies from track to track.  You may not utilize an entire gear set on one given track, and perhaps top out ENTIRELY on all your gears on another.

A taller gearset is going to prove for higher speeds, slower acceleration.  Shorter gears means for better acceleration but lower top speed, etc.

Best thing to do is go ride a track till you feel like you're just at your favorite absolute best time with the given gear set you start with.  Then take note of any corners you feel like you could improve the gearing for.  For instance "Ah this corner i'm taking well but i feel like i'm almost all the way through the power band coming out in 3rd gear and 4th seems just a hair too low." so you can make 3rd gear a bit taller and utilize it more as you come out...

Or perhaps you feel like you're doing really well but you're just topping out on the straight, make 6th taller or revamp the final to make them all a tad taller and squeeze a bit more top speed.

Long story short - You'll need to play with the settings for EACH track.  There isn't going to be a perfect gear setup that works for all tracks overall, every track varies.  Gear ratios and your bike setup and changing these will make for some very competitive times once you get the hang of it!

does this apply to all bikes ?

 or is this a deal pending the bike you use ?  b/c i'm using the ninja and getting better results if the multipler is on 18

my gears are not this tight but i will try them as well and see how this adjustments.
