Hi All

A sticky as requested to confirm the status on the following...

Private First Class Achievement: This issue is known and a fix being worked on, I currently do not have an ETA on this.

Freedom Shall Prevail: I am aware of players reporting some issues with this, I will post when I have more information.

Until then if you completed teh campaign on realistic and didn't get the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement try playing a few scenes in co-op as Knight and it may trigger the achievement

If you are aware of other achievement issues beyond those mentioned please post details below. Thanks

UPDATE: New statement from the community developer....

Dear Fans, here is an official statement from Ubisoft:

During the last days some of you have experienced issues with Rainbow Six Vegas 2, in particular multiplayer connectivity and achievements. We are aware of these issues and looking into them. UPDATE:

Thanks to you guys for finding this one out, I have not personally had chance to check it at the time of updating this post but many others report success on following the instructions to the letter

I did not discover this method, it was posted by Frozone13 here. This method has been confirmed by users of Achieve360Points.com here. However, as always, use this method at your own risk.

1. Sign out of Xbox Live and disconnect your 360 from the Internet (remove Ethernet cord/turn off wireless)
2. Reset your rank (instructions here)
3. Unlock the Private First Class achievement
4. Return to the dashboard and sign into Xbox Live (make sure you are in the dashboard and not the game) so the achievement gets uploaded
5. Delete all Rainbow Six 1 & 2 memory (Not sure why you have to delete R6V1 memory...)
6. Delete your Gamerprofile
7. Recover your Gamerprofile
8. You should now have the Private First Class achievement and your current rank

Note there is a workaround for the PFC achievement for those who haven't yet loaded R6V2.

1) Set up a new profile (or use an existing profile that hasn't played R6V1) and sign on that profile using the first controller (player 1).
2) Sign on your actual gamertag (the one you want the achievement for) using the second controller (player 2).
3) Load up the game and play split-screen Terrorist hunt missions.
4) Continue playing until you level up the player 2 character (the one with your actual gamertag) to Private First Class - Achievement Unlocked.

Nice find . that will help out alot of people!

The workaround does work, I did it with my tag and my GF did it with hers as well. I will say that if you play on realistic you level up much faster. If your character dies, just pick up the other controller(if you are playing alone) and play because a fraction of those points go to you as well. I did it in about 15 minutes.

Also, your rank is stored in your gamer profile (presumably, otherwise it's just magic), so putting your profile on a memory card and trying the above mentioned trick on a different xbox does not work.

What is being done about the terrible lag on ranked games? Not everyone has it, but there are a lot of people.

Also, the mathmaking system in general is really slow and will not allow connection to some games. A fix on this would be appreciated.

I only live a few miles from The Ubi office in Chersey, i would really rather not go and protest outside the office!!!

Yeah, a few of my friends have had difficulties with this achievement glitch as well. Ubisoft should be fixing it as we speak though, which is a good thing.

I may take 48 hours to respond to questions because I'm swamped with University-related work.

I had no idea about the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement.  I got it without any problems.  I just went thru the game the first time thru on Realistic and didn't have any problems.  I went thru the first 4 acts by myself and the rest of it Co-op over XBox Live with a friend.

ya, people who beat it on realistic first seem to get it. I beat it on normal and then realisitic by myself and cant seem to get it.

The Private First Class glitch happened to me, but I did not experience the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement glitch. But I do have another serious glitch that is driving me crazy. My versus weapon selection is missing slots! Usually each four classes: Sniper, Demo, Assault, Recon have four selection slots. Two of myine have four, the other has just a pistol and main weapon. Then there is my last class which has two gadgets and on pistol, spawning me in the game with NO weapons, I can't even change to my pistol. I'd really like to see this one get patched really soon...

Yeah, I had the issue with the Freedom Shall Prevail achievement, I beat the campaign on Normal first (to get a feel for all of the new stages) and then the second time on Realistic, all the boxes in scene selection are ticked off for both normal and realistic but no achievement. I'm even more pissed off because it happened with the original RSV as well, except that was the load from last checkpoint glitch. In other words

As long as I move my profile to a memory card and start a career on that profile (on the memory card), I should unlock the PFC achievement? I want to be sure before I make a permanent mistake. I read this on 360achievements.org the other day, but I cannot be sure if it works or not when I see many people having different results. I also heard this trick works if you start a new profile on your 360 (with the HD), have player 1 be the guest, and player 2 be the main profile (your own), that way your prevent yourself from receiving the XP bonus.

Nope.  Your rank is stored with your gamer profile.  I tried my profile on a friends box that was not connected to live, and it still had all my info.  My memory card had no R6V2 stuff on it either.

I'm already a Master Sarg. do I have to rest my rank to be able to get that achievement that way?

Unfortunately there is no way to intentionally reset your rank. Though some have reported that their rank was reset inadvertantly when resetting their appearance.

I know this is not an Achievement issue as such but I'll post my "issue" here anyway.
I have unlocked the following achievement:

>Complete a scene as Bishop's teammate, Knight, in co-op Story mode at any difficulty.
(purplish ribbon)
But in the ribbon does not appear in the My Character - Ribbon list
