Given up on what? The game? Obviously not. If you look at the highscore boards you see a healthy increase of gamers every day. We know a patch is in the works. After submitting the patch to MS certification it can take a couple of weeks to make it through cert (Valve's progammers expected one of their patches to make it within 1 or 1.5 weeks - it took MS 5 or 6 weeks to get it out of cert and onto Live!). So, it's single player for the time for me.

Is there really a need to start another thread on this? It starts to look like trolling...

Pretty much yeah. At least I did.  I spent  a good chunk of time on hold waiting for help twice on this.  Both times they said it was a typo and that they won't refund the points.  They said a patch will be there for online.  But for people who bought it for offline multiplayer, there isn't anything they will do.

So it just pretty much is the same thing they said with crackdown and other games.  They were " typos  "on the game jackets.  And they won't refund the money for them.  There really isn't much else we can do. I didn't use a charge card to pay for the points through MS, I bought a prepaid point card for my daughter from walmart.  I used cash to pay for it there too. Walmart won't take a card back.  Especially since there are still 800 points from the card left over.   I have no way to get the money back.  MS and namco keep saying to contact the other one for a refund. Each time I do, they say no.

I am thankful that at least namco is working on a patch for the online part of  this game.  They are refusing to work on a patch for Culdcept saga online gameplay.  That is really in need of a patch too. Katamari really needs its online gameplay fixed, but it isn't going to be.  At least Mr. Driller is getting a patch.  The online players at least will have something to look forward to.

There is nothing else most of us can do. Those who bought it for the promised offline multiplayer will just have to eat the cost as we have in the past from the same "typos."

I do know I will be investing in a Wii.  They have more offline multiplayer games like this.  My daughter can't play FPS games.  Plus I get motion sick from them. So we look for fun and challenging offline mutliplayer games like this.  The wii has a lot of them.  Sadly I will end up spending most of my money in the future on that than I will xbox 360 or arcade games.  I Adore the xbox 360, but I am tired of eating the cost for mistakes.   You know the saying, you can't fight city hall.  Well I mean I am sure people can start up some kind of a suit, but that means more time and energy.  Frankly it isn't worth it. It would be more of a hassle then anything else.  I would rather spend the time with my daughter enjoying what little time left that she has.
