GamerDads version 3.0 (aka GamerParents)

JD Buck 02-19-2008, 4:22 AM

After over 200 pages and 50,000 views, version 2.0 got the lock.

Welcome to GamerDads version 3.0.

All gamerdads and gamermoms are welcome.

MO MOSS started it all over one year ago with the original GamerDads forum.

Ethanjude continued the tradition with version 2.0 and I happened to be the first to notice the lock and post as quick as I could.

This thread is to remain free of haters, spammers and forum trolls.  It is a casual hangout for parents who love to game.  It often becomes delightfully off-topic and (almost) always no more than PG rated in content.  Welcome to all new who post and for the regulars to continue the thread until version 4.0 is needed.

Thanks to Unreal Butcher for reminding me to include these important links;

GamerDads Live

Ethanjude added this is the companion site to this thread.  All parents are welcome.  It's more of the same really.  Forums to discuss everything from games, to movies and television, to books, sports (American and European), to setting up tournaments, like the current Halo 3 2vs.2 tourney set to start 3/1 or discussing difficult achievements and how to finally get them, and oh yeah... parenting and gaming with the whole family!

MO MOSS founder of the original GamerDads (Gamer Parents) thread interview with Trixie360.

And lastly, this is Trixie's interview with our Founding Father, MO MOSS.  He was also featured on Inside Xbox for those who don't know.

Same thoughts here.  Couldn't have said it better, so I really didn't try too hard, did I?

I definitely think the Halo tourney is going to be something that people talk about for a looong time.

Wow. Good to see we've hit another milestone. I just joined in the last 50 or so pages of the last thread, but I wanted to post here on the first page so that anyone that missed me the first go round, would see me now.

Congrats MO MOSS on having your face displayed on my BIG HDTV and others like it all around.
It certainly makes me feel like the community is taking us seriously. Now if we could all be as good as "The Monster"

here is a link to the v2.0 thread, if anyone needs to get caught up - http://forums.xbox.com/15589460/ShowPost.aspx

streak update: my achievement streak will be coming to an end soon as I will be travelling to the caribbean (goodbye snow) to see my wife and son who have been visiting her parents since earlier this month. early estimates have determined the achievement streak will be 69 days strong at its apex (12/21/07 thru 2/26/08).

jedi is a good guy.  Glad to have you here, gumpster.

xeno- At least this streak ending will also end the streak of not seeing the little man.  I think nearly 70 days of cheevoes is solid.  When you started, I think you and I were close in score, but your little streak has pushed you well past me.

I also need you to do another one of your little game trivia things.  That last one was fun.  Yes [Y]Big Smile [:D]

I think I need to pick up my game.  I am borderline Top 20 on the leaderboard.  We start adding more people and I'm gonna get bumped out.

The Halo tourney is gonna be great as long as we can get some sign ups.  Time to get some practice in and get out of CoD4 mode.

definately. i don't care that i'm ending my streak since i'm seeing my son. also it did get slightly stressful once in a while, especially when I was trying to use COD2 veteran as my achievement for the day. i'll be glad just to be back to playing and getting achievements when i get 'em.

When we were playing Halo 3 on Legendary the other day, I think we all kept getting our buttons mixed up.  I couldn't figure out why I was ducking instead of doing my melee, or why I was trying to melee instead of reloading.  Embarrassed [:$]

Looking forward to the next game, xeno.

Han and I may join the Halo tourney.  I asked him to play with me tonight.  Big Smile [:D]

To Madame, Ruiner and others that posted last night to find their posts missing it was because in the rush to start V3 when I noticed V2 was full, I forgot to include some important links.  Sorry about being deleted.

UB and ethan added the links and on kiki's advice, I rewrote it to include the links so the proper sites get recognized.
