I Agree 100%. I bought the game based on MS's description of the game. They advertised 2 person local multiplayer. There is none in the game.
On top of the false advertisement, The game is unplayable online. Any store ( or website ) that has a missprint or false description of a item or product in their flyer, ad, or price tag is held accountable for that. They must either honor the price or quanity or they must give a refund. The same should be true for MS. We paid for a product that doesn't function as advertised.
That is false advertisement and fraud. If MS doesn't give us the 2 person local multiplayer, fix the online gameplay, or give a refund..... that is illegal. MS should be held responsible. This is NOT the first time this has happened. Look at crackdown. The game jacket says it has offline multiplayer. I bought the game for that. I didn't get a refund for the game. I couldn't get my money back. MS got away with false advertisement. There are several other games ( even arcade games ) that MS has done this with. None of them have been corrected or refunds given because of the "miss-print".
IF MS actually tested the game.... they would have seen that the online is broken. And they would have seen that there was no 2 player local multiplayer mode. Instead, gamers have gotten ripped off. And I am getting really tired of paying for MS's mistakes. 5 faulty xbox 360s. Months and months ( nearly 7 total months ) of my waiting for a coffin for the xboxs, waiting for repairs, getting broken systems back unrepaired, and having to go through it all again. Then all that time wasted with not being able to use the xbox live gold card that I bought. All the falsely advertised features in games..... Someone needs to make MS step up and get better quality control and better testing of their products ( both console and game wise ).
REaper, it doesn't matter if the game is fun or not. The problem is that MS and namco have been advertising the game ( magazines, fan sites, Nelson's podcasts) as something it is not. They have said many times that the game contained 2 person local multiplayer. That is a reason many of us bought the game. The description on xbox's pages said it contained it. The download description before you download the game says it.
When you pay for the game and try to play it.... you find out that the feature is not included in the game. Hence people are upset. Most of us only bought it for the multiplayer. We would not have bought it if it didn't have the offline multiplayer. MS and namco falsely advertised features of a product. We purchased the product because of that. Their advertisement was wrong. The game doesn't contain the features that they promised.
It would be the same way if MS said that their system could play blu ray disks. If people heard MS say that or advertised it and bought the system based on that..... that would be wrong. Yes I know the system doesn't play blu ray. NO ms has never said just a thing. It is just an example.
This is the same thing. MS promised something. We trusted that promise. We paid for something because of that promise. We found out we were lied to.
Yes namco is working on a patch.... BUT just to fix the online gameplay only. They have stated that they WILL NOT give us the promised 2 player local multiplayer. Which leaves many of us with being ripped off!!

Without going through a lot of links or pages.... here is just one link.
http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/m/mrdrilleronlinexboxlivearcade/ It says co-op on that. Nelson also mentioned it a few times in podcasts. Namco's site specifically said 2 person local multiplayer. Also when you go to download the game, the description also specifically listed it as being a 2 person local multiplayer mode.
Many people have petitioned MS to remove it off the download description. I believe someone posted this morning saying that MS finally did change the download description. I personally haven't checked today to see if they did.
However they still need to remove it from the site, from namco's site, and take down the podcasts.
Edit: I see they have removed some of the stuff from the pages now too. Not sure how long it will remain that way on the link above. But for the moment, that page still says it. Too bad I didn't get screen shots of the others.

We want *demand* what was described (period)
Reaper, It is $10 for this. It is another $12+ for lumines. It was almost $70 for crackdown. All of which were falsely advertised as offline multiplayer. The game jackets/boxes for crackdown still have it listed on the back of them. And that is over a year after MS pulled the offline feature out and released the game. I know there are a few other games too that have it falsely advertised. But these are the 3 that I personally bought this year. I bought them for the soul purpose of the fact that they said offline multiplayer.
That is almost a $100 after taxes. So no I won't suck it up anymore. MS has ripped me off far too much lately.

you arent familiar with namco so you shouldnt comment really.
