Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Man, I tried that ds II last night a couple of times, but I cant even get into the core without dying.

Once in the core, I get killed 1 or 2 times as well.

Getting out doesnt seem to be a problem: I used the Tie interceptor, and just kept shooting the whole way....

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

Advice would be to do the elastic band trick, and barrell roll constantly. Ive just done it now and I know it can get frustrating but keep at it and you'll get it eventually. Anyways next stop 100%!!!

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!
I know this isn't going to be much help but I did the Hoth Battle undefeated 1st time as I played through the story. I did have the elastic band and the only tip I could suggest would be to make sure you shoot the droid things which attach themselves to the bombs as they slow you down and ultimately get you blown up.

My guess is that you use an elastic band to hold down the X button while you focus on defense.

I'm unsure of this because I used tape. Stick out tongue [:P]

Don't die. Stick out tongue [:P]

Practice tripping the AT-ATs and At-ST. You're harder to hit while moving. Having an irl friend might help.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!

I have to thank the poster who mentioned the elastic band because without it I don’t think I could have ever completed the DSII.

Yeah, the only reason why I managed to complete Death Star II is because I used the elastic band trick!!!

First, know your enemy. The 2 leggers shoot blasts that move very slowly so you can attack them with mild S turns and take them out with ease. The probe droids shoot faster but die in one blast. If you're flying blind just keep shooting to take out probes that might be spawning on the edge of the screen.

Clear the first section quickly, there is no reason to linger there at all. I made one run down and back to clear out all the grey blocks, then dragged the bomb.

Second section can be taken slower. Kill the tiny tower that you see when you first enter. Kill the two white guns on the right. The 4 legger won't do much. Clear out all the stationary stuff first before killing your first 4 legger because after he goes down 2 leggers start spawning in. Take down the second 4 legger quickly, move onto the final section ASAP. If at anytime you get low on health I always did figure 8's until I got back to full.

The 3rd section is the toughest part, but not bad overall. Save the grey blocks/rocks for as long as you can. Most dish out hearts when you destroy them so they're good for backup health. Once again, clear out all your staionary objects like towers and turrets. Clear the level as much as you can early on, things get crowded a bit later. While you're doing this you'll beat the first objective of destroying probe droids by default.

Burn down the 2 leggers ASAP. When you have two 4 leggers to kill is when things will be the toughest. You'll have the most spawns at that time. Just keep cool, keep firing and do what you have to do. When you get to the last wave of mixed opponents, take down the droids and 2 leggers first, they'll stop spawning once you do. Then the last 4 legger is yours with ease.

I used the snow speeder the entire. Everyone has personal preference on ships. I hate switching around to drag bombs.

One key thing is try not to fly so fast that hit the center island on the last section. You take damage if you do.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!
This is weird. I did Speeder Showdown with Ghost Obi Wan and I died like 2 or 3 times while on the speeder but I don't think I lost any studs. When the level finished I heard the achievement beep and I was like okay, I'll take it! Now I just need Endor Undefeated, Falcon Undefeated, DS II Undefeated, and 100%. I only need 5 more gold bricks too. Almost done!

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!
Do you guys think that the game reads the undefeated achievements by lost studs? So if you don't lose any studs then you don't "die". Think about it, when you get shot out of vehicles and turret you lose studs - game counts it as death, you fall in a hole - you lose studs = death ..... maybe if you just do the levels and not collect studs? That's what i'm going to try.

i would hope that the game is more inelligent than that. it most definately counts actual deaths.

Re: Undefeated Achievements FLYING!
I didn't read through all of the posts so I hope I don't repeat it...

Have your son (or somebody) keep telling you how many hearts you have if you drop below 4.  This worked on the harder levels for me because I was so keen on killing things that I'd forget about the hearts and eventually blow up with 2 stray hits.  So if I fell below 4 hearts I'd immediately look for hearts to scoop them up.  This has worked in all of the levels (so far).  So if somebody is willing to be your audible alert, then that might help too.

It's pretty simple- just take it in a relaxed mood.  When you get to the point that you want to throw your controller, don't.  If it breaks, you'll be embarrassed to tell your friends that Lego Star Wars upset you.

Just use the Slave 1, Twin Ion Engine (who knew that here?) Intercepter, and the Falcon.  Use the falcon while being chased- it can shoot backwards with it's rotating cannon.  The Slave 1 is maneurverable and powerful, and the Intercepter is very fast.  I did it switching back and forth, and my right bumper's broken!

peace.

Good advice. I will have to give this a try.

That rubber band trick is awesome.  Rebel Attack, Hoth Battle, and Falcon Flight...done.  Death Star II is a pain in the ***, still.  Twice I got all the way through, only to get clipped by the fireball on the way out.  Going to take some extra practice, for sure.

this "trick" is just using a rubebr band to hold down shoot. its really, really pointless and i dont udnerstand why people use it at all tbh...
