To the OP, I agree. But to this guy. How can you say that then still say it's one of the best fighting games to date? You've obviously never played any other fighting game if you think that. I could list tons of last gen fighting games and a couple next gen ones that blow this game away. I know I shouldn't be saying anything since it is just your personal opinion but seriously dude...best fighting game to date...seriously? I guess I just look at it as more of an insult then an opinion.

That's what directional attacks are for, using the right analogue stick forces the opponent in the direction you move it. For example, moving the stick right and up will do a high attack forcing your opponent to the right. Moving the stick left then down will do a low attack forcing the oppenent left. If you press back then forward on the stick, it will do a low attack forcing your opponent backwards. The key to this game is understanding how all the controls work and using them efficiently in a fight.
I agree that the game does have a lot of flaws, but I presonally think it's still one of the best fighting games to date. I enjoyed FFNY and can understand why people don't like ICON because it's so different. I'm enjoying the game and I'm happy that I bought it.

Peace out

i'm digging it too.
its not for rooks.
the control scheme is for advanced gamers only.
DJ FFNY'ers need not apply, and are best served playing a wrestling game like no mercy

Why are you picking me out of the crowd and trying to make an example of me when there are others posting similar things. Such as "YOU!!  GET out right NOW!!!  Don't you ever say that again you hear me!?". I just didn't get how someone could say in all honesty that this is the best fighting game to date with so many other great ones out there. I'd like to what others they have played, if any.
To the other guy saying gamerscore doesn't matter. When your gamerscore is that small you don't have the right to call yourself an "advanced gamer". Don't give me that "Well I have a life and you don't." excuse. Because my score is pretty big and I spend plenty of time with my family, friends, and girlfriend. I don't spend hours and hours playing videogames. I get tons of points from regular gaemplay, because I'm just that *** good.

Purely because you're the only one who has a problem with me liking the game.
I've played plenty of fighting games, and while I didn't think ICON was that great when I first played it, I have soon come to love it. I think the directional attacks are a really good gameplay mechanic as well as the turntables. I like the fact that it's fairly realistic and not too OTT. The way the music is intergrated into the game is very original and works extrememly well.  I agree that it has its flaws, the online lag is awful, there aren't any decent combos and they took out the head stomping. I still think it's one of the best fighting games, it just takes a while until you actually appreciate it.
I don't have a problem with you, just the way you bashed me for having an opinion of the game. I'm sorry if I'm a black sheep when it comes to this game, but I just happen to really like it.

Exactly. We're all entitled to an opinion.

Still... I see why you like this game... but seriously! There are well over 10 games released in under 5 years that I can name that are miles better than this!

Gamerscore means nothing, just that you have spent endless time playing the game through and through. Or jus simply completing a game. The real advanced gaming comes online, and anyone can beat the computer, its all about playing online to call yourself an "advanced gamer". So yess little boy you probably are that *** good at beating the A.I on easy setting......clap clap clap.

The game is like coffie, u dont love it on the first taste, the more u play the more u can enjoy it, i hated this game from time to time, but i realised its not the same game as FFNY, maby i manipulated my self, but still it is one of the best fighting games out there, its really advanced thou it might just seem slow and struggling, but u dont get games with more tactics than in this one, (hate the A.I on hard they, they pwn me :( )

Little boy..? I'm confused as to how you made that assumption about me. You know what they say about assuming right?(except your the only *** in this case)
What's all this nonsense about me only beating games on the easy setting? You obviously didn't bother looking up any of my achievements before making that lame attempt of flaming me. If you think it's simple to beat the computer then your probably the one that needs to turn the difficulty up a notch, the A.I in next gen videogames is quite advanced.
It's way tougher fighting a computer on the highest difficulty then it could ever be playing against people online.Thats always been my experience anyhow. Think about it. Most computer enemies have 10x the life you have and do10x the damage you can do,but all of that is equal online. I keep that in mind everytime I play, so holding my own has never been a problem.

A.I don't adapt to changes as people do whilst playing the game. Playing online is far more advanced than playing the A.I. This game for instance, def jam, online is a lot more difficult than playing the A.I on hard, all u do is jus wait and counter whilst if u try that online ul get ur *** thrown through a window. Sorry i didnt investigate your profile sonny but i couldnt care less.

The fact is the worst gamers can get very high gamerpoints so back to ur comment gamerpoints matter in advanced gaming....they don't, its just a score, get over it....... you know its true.

What are you smoking? "the worst gamers can get very high gamerpoints" That makes no sense. If they're terrible gamers there is no way they could unlock half the achievements on some of these games. "A.I don't adapt" lol. Like I said before,if you actually played on the higher difficulties you would know just how untrue that is. Go play a real fighting game like DOA, or maybe a game that actually has good A.I like F.E.A.R. Then you'll see just how incredibly wrong you are.
Anybody that calls this a great or even good fighting game has little to no taste.
One more thing. Why do you keep posting your gamertag? I can already see it posted on your card.

Ok. It doesnt take much of a gamer to complete some of the easier games or anygames at that fact, just dedication. Achievements arent hard to get, yes two or three may be hard but the rest is just completing the game or playing it will unlock achievements without you noticing like "100 kills etc" like the games king kong, fight night, def jam, need for speed, rainbow six, graw, graw2, call of duty 3, fear. condemned, test drive...need i go on? because every game is like that. And i do play the higher difficulties i just choose not to reply a whole game jus to get extra gamer points, i go to online where the advanced, yes advanced gaming starts. The normal game is just the basis for online gaming.

Dead or Alive a real fighting game or button bashing fun?, fight nights a real fighting game.Any retard can complete a game, but u may never reach number 1 rank in a online match or beat the best out there. Does Anyone would agree with me that online is harder than the normal game? Or infact that People online are harder than the computer A.I itself??

I suggest you stop leaving ur girlfriend alone in the bedroom calling u to come, whilst u say "no no! ive nearly finished gears of war again, the third time, on hardcore this time!" As u say that the two tubs of vaseline are slowly decreasing, ur right hand becoming extensively saw, as u see the credits come up and wait.... There it is the little bar saying achievement unlocked!

You need to relax, seriously... Stop making childish assumptions about someone you don't even know. It just shows a lack of maturity on your behalf because you can't stay to the *latest* topic.

Anyway, to say that offline is just a basis for online gaming? That's stupid. I rather play games on my own or co-op because (and leading to your second bolded point) when in ranked matches in most games, there's always glitchers, cheaters and spawn campers. Very rarely is a gamer of skill no. 1 in the WorldWide rankings, it's always some booster that sucks at the game.

As you can see from my gamertag (if you do some research before your next post), I go for achievements occasionally. I don't keep playing GoW online to get the "Seriously..." achievement. I play casually and it's rare to see me play a game over and over for gamerpoints... Infact, it's never. I play CoD2 on Veteran because it's a challenge, I play GoW on Insane for the same reason. When online, I generally play Player Matches because I'm not ultra-competitive.

Why are you so obsessed with GamerScores?

Also i never said worldwide rankings i said and i quote, "but u may never reach number 1 rank in a online match"  Once again if you'd read my comment properly instead of trying to master up smart *** comments you would have seen that.

Now also i agree that playing games on highest difficulties is the best but why do every difficulty to get extra points? why not just do the hardest and leave it at that?

Now back to u, i never commented on ur gaming, so i dont appreciate your little episode right there. And what im not being mature on an xbox forum because i made a joke or said that its sad to waste time just for the numbers next to ur name to increase? And by saying that you dont try hard for achievements is agreeing with my arguement. Many Thanks.

What can I say couldn't resist being a huge fan of debate I know name calling has been on both sides but Supasta you seem to be doing the fair ammount of it and outsiders such as me are not putting much weight into your opinion when all you do is name bash. Make your point eloquently instead cause quite honestly I think your right in some regards.

DOA is an incredibly hard game. It can also be incredibly hard on line. from my expeirence though most online players are not players of skill but players who have literly memorized the frames and combos. Not saying thats cheating but in my opinion it destroys the "spirit" of the game so I would much rather play my wife or my friends at home offline then deal with glitchers, cheaters, etc.

To side with the other guys single player can be very difficult. Gears is insanley difficult when playing by yourself and on the harder levels you almost do need assistance bewcause the programmers put that many pathways into the A.I.

So either one of you guys could be right but none of that answers the question is Icon sad? My two cents on that I won't even pick it up after they took out throws. No I don't want it as a wrestling games but I liked how divers FNY was.

Not knowing how to play a game can make even the lower difficulties challenging, so those achievements are still well earned. When you first get a game you don't know everything about it (the controls, the enemies) and it's good to go through the game and familiarize yourself with them. Especially with games that have no predecessor, like Gears of War. Starting on the highest difficulty is kind of like a football team going in to it's first game ever without a play book, or you could compare it to constructing a building or some other architectural feat. You start from the ground up, not at the top. Sometimes with games they will even make it so that you have to beat it on the lower difficulties before moving on to the more challenging ones, or unlocking some other feature. So a lot of the time beating a game on the lower or lowest difficulties is a must.

I am relaxed, how could someone be unrelaxed writing on a xbox forum, u make it sound out that im writhing in my chair sweating and cursing with anger. This topic was changed to gaming experiences aswell as gamerpoints, so no im not obsessed with gamerpoints once again, i stated earlier they do not matter or change anything in gaming. Just a number next to your name, now shouldnt microsoft have given u free downloads if u obtain certain amounts of points, now that would be something to rave about, not just an insignificant number for "bragging rights" I agree with what karalas is saying, but i never said normal gameplay is easy i said online was harder.

Which was the latest topic you was on about man? it changes to much so your latest topic might not be everyone elses ok?? What are the insults u seem to find childish or is that just a poor way to try and demine my posts? Also how can you find what im saying insulting, its a forum, get over it.

As for u, u havent made any decent comments ur like a back-up singer, no1 cares about u. I appreciate zombie jesus's comments and karalas. But you??? im still confused as to why u even bother.

Microsoft has started to reward gamers for getting high gamerscores. In the challenges, the amount of your gamerscore determines the level of prizes you can win. So it gives you both bragging rights and the best prizes now.

You are a level 1 on the forums and clearly don't understand how anything works. I'm a level 3 thanks to helping people out on various forums. Karala said the same thing as me, you are constantly losing respect of others because when you can't make an argument, you decide to insult. As to why I bother? Plenty of reasons. I agree with Jesus' opinion, and mainly the fact that I'm trying to give you simple advice and you respond with childish insults. If you don't care about GamerPoints, then why do you constantly refer to them? Every time I have corrected you, you decide to avoid what I have said and you return to insults. And as to what I've added to the conversation? Lets have a look at my first post, shall we?
