personally i thought N3s camera sucked. i hated having to constantly readjust it when your character goes up and downhill. but the biggest obstacle warrior games need to get over is graphically. were playing ps2 games on 360!? koei needs to truly bring the series into the next gen. bladestorm will look great but i want to see DW6 & SW 3 look as good as N3. As well the character animations could use a few cosmetic overhauls.

My first was DW 3, but I didnt have much of an interest. I didn't know what to do or where to go. But I sat down and played DW4 and I got used to it and turned out it was alot simpler than I was making it out to be. So far I've laided to rest DW4 (ps2), DW5 (xbox), DW 5 Empires (360), SW (ps2), SW 2 (360, although I only have two more officers to get), and I'm still pluggin away at SW 2 Empires. I even enjoyed the Mystic Warrior game on gamecube.

N3 was ok. It looked great, played like a true DW game, but it seriously lacked the sheer number and variety of characters the warriors series boasts, which is one of the things I love about warriors games. I don't play the handhelds versions though. And I'm really interested to see what Koei is going to do with the Warriors franchise on the Wii. There is one so far that I'm aware of, but I haven't heard much about it. Bladestorm sounds great too, with a new medevil theme.

Has anyone played Devil Kings on PS2? Once again, a picture perfect copy of the warriors gameplay, but from Capcom. It was made by the same team that gave us Resident Evil and Devil May Cry. It had a whole fictional Japanese/Chinese them with lots of great anime cutscenes and really cool characters.

DEVIL KINGS is fun, I still have it. I just looove the female fighter in the ice region, the gal with the heavy Southern accent. (I'm from the Southern U.S.A., ya'll come down here and I'll fix some grits for ya.) Also, last week the History Channel on cable t.v. ran a show called SAMURAI, it was about the real thing and went into great detail. It was fun to watch and get the details on the real Nobakowabunga  (how the f' do you spell that freakin' name again, lol?) and other folks mentioned in the games. Don't you just hate it when your games sneak in education? :)

I'm with you guys. So far I have N3,  Samurai Warriors 2, Samurai warriors: Empires, & Dynasty warriors 5:empires, and my sister and I can't stop playing them! They're just really. Especially on co-op. Ieven plan to get the next few ones in the series, like Gundam, and Orochi.

I must admit, that is one major flaw all Koei's games seem to have. I REALLY hope they take advantage of the 360's graphics one of these days. . . . . I'd also like them to add more features to the "create your own warrior" section in both empires games. More faces, more outfits, hairstyles, etc.

I wish there was a create an officer option, or an ability to play as orochi officers, but its cool. I'll polish this off then get dynasty warriors gundam. man i cant wait to play Bladestorm and DW 6!!! finally some better graphics.

I have loved Koei games for so long.  The company is great and has a very loyal fan base.  I would love to see a modernized Ghengis Khan game.  I played the heck out of the Nintendo and PC versions of that.

What amazes me is how people talk poorly of DW games, and yea they're no Devil May Cry or Ninja Gaiden, but asian gamers eat these games up, and they still sell pretty damn well in the states too. Keep up the good work Koei!!

Have you tried Bladestorm yet Ghanja?

It's the same deal... everyone is slating it as a rubbish game... but for my money it's the best game Koei/Omega have made yet.

I just got SW 2 Empires, and it is addicting. I played that Gundam Warrior Demo, and that one seems to be pure trash to me, those gundam mechs dont go over well with that game engine, stick to the chinese/japanese warriors.

Vids i'd seen of the Warriors games didn't really impress me, what with the dated graphics and probably the worst English voice acting i'd ever heard. However a CompUSA near me was going out of business and had all their 360 games on sale, so I picked up Samurai Warriors 2 for 20 bucks or so.

I am hooked to it and cannot get enough. I went back and picked up SW2 Empires, DW5 Empires and Warriors Orochi today. Can't wait to start them after I finish SW2. Also looking forward to DW6 in February and Samurai Warriors 2 Xtreme Legends in March.

arrrgh, I'm having a hard time understanding why DW:Gundam is still $54 used at gamestop. They really need to cut the price on this one.

I got mine at CompUSA, but I've seen it at Best Buy, Circuit City and similar stores. I don't think Koei does second prints of games for 360, though, it seems like once the games are sold, they're gone for good. My Best Buy and Gamestops said they weren't going to get any more in, anyhow.

You can still get it on Amazon.com, if you can't find it in-store.

All of koei games are easy for me to relax into - maxing out one officer at a time - collecting all the items - maxing out the weapons - I have a good time with it

I can honestly say that the only thing that I don't like about these games, outside of the fact that the graphics just haven't evolved yet on 360 version, is one little gameplay thing. . .in the Empire games, it drives me so friggin out of my mind when enemy oficers get low on health, they run away!!! Why do they need to run like ***? Face your demise like a true warrior! Besides, I don't want to have to chase you down. Friggin pain in the ***.

Same here. I also really like the Co op aspect of the game. Gives my sister and I something fun we can play together.
The ability to create custom characters is also a high point for me.

Re: cant . . .stop. . . playing warrior games
Just played SW2E last night and i was highly impressed. I know alot of the gripe about the Samurai/Dynasty Warriors series , is that  the games are just rehashes, but this is my first one so that passed me by. the graphics are just above the original xbox presentation in my opinion so i was again impressed considering how much flack the graphics get

The game reminds me of the Star Wars Battlefront series so thats plus, and i love the stratgy elements and making enemy generals my pets haha.

This game will keep me going until the new Lord of the rings conquest game comes out.
I dont know if id upgrade to a new dynasty/samurai warriors game too quick , maybe the Gundam one , because that one  looks sweet. Xplay steered me wrong again , this game is great

Re: cant . . .stop. . . playing warrior games
I finally ordered Orochi Warriors from EB games online, and disappeared for 2 days after it was delivered. Nice improvements to the Dynasty Warriors formula, showing that they CAN do something other than rehashes of DW over and over. Having the new story with the demon invasion was great, also being able to tag-team 3 characters during battle was so good. Weapon fusion was a great idea, I liked being able to use captured weapons to create my own custom made uber-powerful weapons. Only thing missing was Create-A-Character, which has always been one of the best features of the series. When Orochi Warriors 2 comes out I will definately go for a pre-order, some of the Koei games just do NOT show up in my city at all. I wish they would increase the original number of US copies delivered to stores and also reissue copies of older games. All in all, Orochi Warriors is my favorite game of the whole warriors series and I'd recommend it to other xboxers too.

Yep i feel the same. these are some of the bets games i have ever played. and to comment on these games being repetitive.i disagree. Dynasty warriors always tell more story each game and Samurai warriors well theirs only 2 and the storylines are only about 15% the same with those 2 only ones the same are empires really but their great fun and a long lasting game. play it for a few weeks, Play another game. then straight back onto empires and the routine goes on unlike 80% of games empires is one you never have to throw in the bin. well i enjoy empires more then the origanal series anyway

The stories are always fun to listen to, I don't care that the action hasn't evolved. Killing that many enemies on the battlefield with all those cool moves.. Too much fun!

Just in case you didn't know, the stories are based on historical events.......well except the Gundam and Orochi spinoffs.

After playing the Dynasty Warrior series, I went to a book store and picked up "The three Kingdoms" which is what DW is based on.  It was a very interesting read, I would recommend any Dynasty Warrior fans to check it out. =]

I loved playing uncharted waters 1 & 2 i too spent many hours playing & also loved Rott3k & genghis khan What happened to these types of great games? With the graphics power they have now Uncharted Waters would be awesome! Maybe they could have cashed in on this game espescially with the popularity of pirates of the carribean movies. Ive always liked DWarrior games, but now its just too much! I want new HD versions of the great strategy games like I used to play! I felt like UWaters was kinda like alearning tool too! Alot of people dont know where alot of countries or cities are in the world. but uncharted waters taught you this in a fun way!

If you consider yourself a fan of Dynasty Warriors games, I recommend that you check out the movie "Red Cliff". A film from John Woo based on the events of the Three Kingdoms story. I enjoyed it myself and hope other fans will too, if you haven't already heard of it. Big Smile [:D]

Hey Ghanja, thanks for reccommending that movie, I'll be sure to look for it soon. I think History Channel also had a show called THE REAL SAMURAI, or something similiar.  Interesting documentary, it mentioned many of the names that are used in the Warriors games. I always enjoy getting a history lesson along with my violence fix, lol.

Yeah, no problem. It had numerous characters many would recognize by name, but besides that, don't expect to see their respective game characters weapons, or the distinct colors of each major group. It apparently is so long it had to be broken up into two films, and the western version had even more cut out. I'm not sure exactly which version I saw, but what I did see, I liked.

It mostly centered around the begining of Cao Cao's campaign to defeat Liu Bei, who forms an alliance with Sun Quan, eventually leading to the battle of Red Cliff. Lot's of epic battles and a small bit of stylized wire-fu. Wink [;)]

The full movie is around 6 hours split in two parts...

There's of course the full version

A two part version with cuts

And a one part 2 and a Half hour thater version.

I advise you to get the FULL version ... it should be out on dvds by now ...

It sheds a new light on the universe you're familiar with ...
You should quit while i'm ahead...
