just a quickie...

how do you use graditiaints???

like blend one colour into the other? Just like the forza video which was released?

FM2 includes gradient vinyls that you can use for this... select the color you want on the solid end and it'll fade out to whatever background color(s) are in place according to how you size/place it.

Additionally in FM2 you can now also set the Transparency level of the various vinyls so this gives you added combinations/flexibility in blending colours.

You'll have to experiment with both to see the interesting effects that you can create.

Real Picture Vinyls

Hey everybody, i was wondering if anyone knew how to create those real picture vinyls on cars something to do with the live vision camra i believe. i want to know how to do and so should everyone else and put these money making cheat painters out of business. Its just cause i spent ages making an England car over 8 hours and it didnt sell on auction. Last night i saw a car on the auction that had Beckham on one side and the other the England team it went for just over 100,000. Im sure thats impossible on the shapes we have to use. so everyone should know how to do it for them selves.

(Mods, Please dont delete this, i know might be boardering on the rules but its something everyone should know about.)

Ha ha ha another non-believer! Unfortunately some people are just very talented, Ripster. Go to the forza forum on forzamotorsport.net and see some of the step-by-step tutorials and realise that you need lots of patience, skill and practice to create photo-realistic cars.

Custom vinyls?
Hi, i was looking through some cars at the auction house and saw a few nice looking cars. One was a batman car w/ the batman logo and a nother a gears of war car with the gears of war logo. Where did the makers of these cars get these vinyls- if they are even vinyls?

Problem Regarding the Paint Shop
I recently just finished a design that I wanted to originally put on another car (Camaro) but did it on a different car due to more room to be more efficient (VW GTi).  Now I saved my design to the catalogue and to the car (VW GTi).  Whenever I get back into my Camaro and go to the Paint Shop, I try to apply the design from the design catalogue, but it only has the paintjobs for that Camaro and not the new one that I made on the GTi.  I was wondering if this is even possible, to put a design from another car onto a different one.  Please help as soon as possible.  Thanks in advance.

Car decal problems list
Ok so I was designing a car when I noticed that I couldn't apply decals on a spot on a car. Later on I tried another car and I had the same problem but in a different spot. That got me thinking that maybe other people have this problem too so maybe there should be a complete list of all these model problems,  I'll start....

Audi TT

Problem area:

Right side of the car near the trunk. The spot is shaped like a tear.

Chevy Cobalt SS coupe

Problem Area:

Starting on the right side of the  front bumper and going all the way to the back to the right side of the back bumper there is a stripe that can't be decaled. However, on the back bumper on the spot the decal will sometimes appear.

Re: Car decal problems list

Many people have had this issue, including myself "chevy cobalt ss" Try shutting down the game go back to the 360 dashboard and restart your game. the problem should go away (but will eventually return) until a patch is released.

How do I copy a design from one car to another?

To copy a design from your vehicle to another of the same make and model go to the “Save Design” option in the “Paint Car” menu.  The second option is “Save to Design Catalog.”  To apply your design, go to the “Design Catalog” option in the “Paint Car” menu and you can see any designs saved to the catalog and select the appropriate design.

I've tried this. Doesn't seem to work. I tried to save a decal layout from my GNX and put it on my other cars.  When I open the design book on the target car, it always tells me "No design saved for this car" or some such.  Am I missing something?

It has to be the same make/model of car. I learned this the hard way.

Re: Painting/Graphics Questions--Check Here First

Guys, go back a couple of pages and read, otherwise do a search, and get the information correct. If you want to copy a design to another car of different make and model. You must save your paint scheme as a "vinyl group" do not save in the design catalog (unless you intend to copy the exact paint scheme on the exact make and model car).

Well that answers my question. I had the same problem with a Cobalt I was working on. I ended up having to take a stripe off of it because there were gaps in it because of this issue.

Re: Painting/Graphics Questions--Check Here First
I just did my first design last night and one thing killed me. I couldn't find an easy way to go back and add another layer underneath a pre-existing layer. Is there just no way to do it without shifting all of the other layers around too?

Re: Painting/Graphics Questions--Check Here First

Yes their is a pretty simple way of doing it. Bring up all your layers and pick one that is underneath the others click on position layer, then press "y" stamp now you will have to identical vinyls click on one of them and reposition, change color size shape etc. Hope this helps.

Re: help with halo theme

Your'e working with layers, think of the picture as layers,

1. Black background

2. White oval shape

3. Black oval shape positioned slightly off center

4. Multiple black shapes to create the cuts in the larger white oval

5. Horizontal white and blue air brush (or faded vinyls)

6. Multiple white shapes to create the "3"

For some one who knows what they are doing this would probably take about 1 hour max. A beginer can definately do this design just keep practicing.
