I'm trying to figure out why they decided to utilize the Wing Commander name for this game since it doesn't really do anything with the franchise.  Not that the franchise was without its bad titles really, but I think Wing Commander Armada was better.

Speaking as the hardest of the hard-core WingNuts, I think it's cool that they made this a WC game... I mean, why not? It's great to see the familiar fighters and such, even if it isn't a huge interactive movie.

I played almost every WC game over the years and I liked this game. Its an ARCADE style game for $10. I really don't know what pple were expecting but it was exactly what I thought it would be. I would have been great it it was full 3D flying but then you probably woudn't get it for $10.

Yeah, I guess if I look at it from that perspective (arcade title), it's fine.  $10 is cheap, I guess I just miss the old games in that series.

I am more disappointed being a Wing Commander fan. The game-play, controls, graphics, and presentation all looked looked great for an xbl arcade game, but I was really hoping for a short single player campaign mode with a text story. I would have loved taking down baseships and performing other short objectives in this 2d/3d WC version (especially if it included co-op). The old WC games were all about the single player story and shooting down huge battleships. Maybe dodging a few asteroids here and there. Not include a single player campaign mode in a Wing Commander game is just ......disappointing. :(

I am sure the 16 player online matches are fun. They're just not what I was hoping for or want from a Wing Commander game. 

No buy here.

I have never played a WC game before, but I still don't like it. Every time I try to play it I have to force myself to have fun, but I have yet to have any.

I believe the best way to describe it would be walking in a lush field, the grass curling between your toes, the breeze is fresh and cool, and then the lone airplane overhead dumps it's toilet tanks on you.

This approximates seeing the game title, the wait to download it, and to actually playing it.

It's the suckiest suck that ever sucked.  Seriously,  it's even worse than Missile Command.  Glad I didn't buy the full version.

I like it alot.. and I've only had an X-boxy 360 for 2 days.

Yeah, it brings back some fond memories even if it's not exactly classic WC.  I think its fun, just remember its a cheap arcade game thats all.  Would be good if the single player could be expanded a bit with some campaign missions, and some co-op options for live as well.
Lets have some more ships too so theres a huge variety in-game, stuff from privateer, wc1 and 2.
Anyone else spot the Longbow's parked in the space station?
