Marathon makes me feel sick although i never feel anything when reading in the car, i like reading in the car actually but Marathon makes me as sick as when i had to do the rooftop race on the Agency Tower in Crackdown...that made me feel so sick..remember Artie? u helped me do that one, it was the last one i needed.

i have been waiting for this game to come out and i bought it without playing the trial.  but yah i got major motion sickness.  i will have to turn sensitivity down.  i have a major headache as i speak and i feel my lunch coming up.  still a great game though i dunno if i can stomachh it. ugghhhh

Also, I just tested out what they say about sitting farther away from the TV. So I decided to sit about ten feet away from my TV and play some Marathon Campaign. About two minutes into gameplay, I got nauseated again!

Can I just ask what the ages are of the people getting motion sickness? I'm fairly young and I don't suffer from this no disrecpect but I think it tends to be the older people playing video games who suffer from this.

I get the same thing. It never bothered me when I played this game on the Mac. I will fiddle with the settings the next time I play.

I could only play until you get through the first door.I felt sick as soon as I started.

Classic game, I've been waiting for this since I first heard about it.  I almost bought it without playing the demo.

It's gone horribly horribly wrong. The original didn't do this, no other FPS (inc the XBLA Doom) do this.

I felt ill after about 5 mins. Determined to play the classic game I spent an hour trying to acclimatise. Then I had to go lie down in a dark room for a bit.

I hope the developers who adapted this for XBLA rot in ***.

Everybody! The motion sickness is caused by the high frame-rate of 60 FPS. The original game had 30 FPS, so this game is running at lightning speed. THAT is the reason. It's not the gun bob, it's not sensitivity, it's the frame-rate.

I never get car sick/motion sick on a boat/or motion sick playing a video game, however after about 5 minutes of Marathon I got a massive headache and had to stop.

i am 21, and my friend that i was playing with is 20.  I puked first, all in his trashcan, then he followed.  Drinking and puking is fun, while playing a VIDEO game and puking because of motion sickness is the furtherest from fun that i have ever had playing video games. I will not be playing this game again, shame because i remember that i use to love playing this game.  I also am very use to boating, and never get motion sickness on the water, yet for some reason this game made me sick. TEST YOUR GAMES before you release them.  I can't see how this issue was not brought up, unless they just decide to not test it at all and make the quick buck from hardcore fans of the game.

i keep hearing how the online doesn't make you sick . cause i'm still thinking of getting it just for that

60 Frames a Second means the game updates the world 60 times a second.  IT DOES NOT AND CANNOT Change the actual speed of the game.  If it takes 10 seconds for a rocket to travel in 30 FPS it will take 10 seconds in 60 FPS.

If anything is to blame it's the viewport angle on these older games, it's much narrower than a newer modern FPS. 

Nobody on any test team, developement team ever got sick, or even remotely sick.  We've put in hundreds of hours in multiple TVs playing the game over and over.  Don't by into the placebo effect either, if you think you'll get sick you probably will.

No motion sickness for me. I even ate a sandwich while playing the game and I didn't feel sick.

I played the trial and after 10 minutes I felt completely sick like I was going to throw up.  Took gravel and still felt sick for the entire day.

So there wasn't the "Play 'till you puke" rule for the testers?  It would have been faithful to the original and historically accurate.
