Online Co-Op would of been crap anyway unless the player using Tails was given his own set of lives and was able to proceed on his own path and not Sonic's. Then of course what happens in the special stage if either jumped in?

It's still a cracking game, definetely worth the 400 even if it's on your own, though I won't be getting it due to my copy of Mega Collection Plus still around.

Plus isn't it that Backbone Entertainment that do the online stuff?

Sega Vintage Collection ONLY features the games like they were. There are achievements and leaderboards. And there is online, but just as it was played in the original game. It´s like that, and it´ll be like that.

Don´t expect Sonic 3 or any other Vintage game to add anything to the game. Just online.

Online co-op or not I'm still gonna buy it. If it was anything like the first Sonic in terms of single player gameplay then I see no reason not to buy this classic game. I'm not spoiled or anything but it's just 5$ for the game...nothing to get excited about.

Don´t think so, it would be EXACTLY like offline coop. It wouldn´t work.

Oh, and there are now 5 Vintage games, and none of them have been patched. If they patch one someday, I´m sure they´ll patch them all at once, since they are emulated.

Yea, the lag on the multiplayer isnt cool but the game itself is still great, even after 10 years since the game first came out. When it comes down to Sonic, the real hear of the game lies in the single player...plus Tails kind of always held Sonic down..like Bobby to Whitney.

I had this game on megadrive and it kicked *** but i got it on psp and it sucked balls (most psp games do) when i was younger i was well good at this game but now im really sucky at it

Haha! I knew someone would bring up the trial! I don't usually try games that I am anticipating to purchase or believe to be of quality: see Geometry Wars, TMNT, Bomberman, Ikaruga when it is released... this was definitely an oversight on my part! I just downloaded this game for old times sake.  I'm not too fussy about online playability as long as the single player mode works.  I'm happy with it.

You can't really get a refund if you just don't like a game. You can, however, get one if a game is totally broken, and doesn't work like it should (one example would be Assault Heroes, MP just utterly refuses to work for a LOT of people, so much, it creates an uproar. Lots of people got refunds).

May I ask does single player have any bugs if not it wouldn't stop me from buying it Sonic 2 was about the single player anyways the 2 player spilt screen was a boring feature I couldn't care about having a 2nd player as Tails wouldn't they have to change the code to something like each player has like a single player of sort of game. If 1 player goes to up say top of emerald hill and the other dosn't follow it like stays with that player and there screen stays with them or whatever I've think I've lost myself in that sentence.

Lol you lost me there too   but i've finished the single player on xbox 3 times and never encountered any bugs or problems, supposidly it's just playing as tails online which as problems, delayed jumping etc.. and in relation to an earlier point about people being exhausted of playing the single player many years ago.. you could say that about nearly every arcade game, its called ARCADE.. people play it because of the love of the game and the memories it brings back

1: THE TRIAL GAME DOESN'T HAVE ONLINE MODE!!!

2: Co-op WAS advertised, which was in fact, IN THE ORIGINAL GAME!!!

3: I will grantly state RIGHT now, that the majority of all people who have downloaded this game, have downloaded it for ONLINE CO-OP!!!

4: I will say right now, as you said to him, YOU'RE one of the sad idiots that try and complain about everything OTHER people complain about. How are you any different from him??

Last but not least for all, this game is worth buying if you loved Single Player.
For those (I mean EVERYone) who wanted this game for Online Co-op/Versus Mode, go buy a different Arcade game.

while i am disappointed that I downloaded too, i dont think you can do anything.

It is falsy though, there is no online co-op. Blah, Maybe when Sonic 3 / Knuckles comes out :/

Heck, not that I'm trying to argue or anything, but this IS "Xbox LIVE", people WILL pay money to play ONLINE.. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 was one of the MANY games people have bought and paid for to play online.
Co-op just happens to be one of the favored gameplays I would think..

Oh, and to answer your question.. Yes, I have talked to the majority of people on Xbox LIVE.. I'm just crazy like that sometimes..

Two player on the special levels to get the chaos emeralds is fun.   AI controlled Tails in there is completely useless.
