My wife has this crazy idea that if she gets earphones and puts them on her belly our son will listen to enough sports he will play them and love them lol. I guess she wants him to be like me. Do any of you think that headphone thing works because she does?
I'm not sure if it works with sports, but listening to music can certainly help stimulate their growth mentally. This may sound bad, but we were pretty typical in terms of "middle child syndrome" with our kids. We played music for Ethan, and he developed early in terms of speaking and comprehension, Cal (the middle) we did not play music and it has been a little more of a struggle, Max (the youngest) we returned to the music, and he is progressing really quickly as well. I'm not saying that it makes all the difference, but it is visible.
Another recomendation, if I may, is to speak to him, even from birth, like using adult words. Ex: "Do you want a bottle?" As opposed to "Does hims want a baba?" My inlaws talk to the kids like that, and it drives me nuts. It takes a day to deprogram them if they stay the night with grandma and grandpa.
