And there's the sticky for ya... let's hope the 'power that be' don't yell at me!

The reason I mentioned saving it is that eventually most stuff on the forums is archived, I am not sure the exact time period for it.  So some people find a way to save the thread to their hard drive (not sure how most do this either, but you may want to ask Cappicorn because I believe she did it with the "Gears and Beers" thread).

I know how you feel I have about 15 to 20 family members coming down in Late Dec-early Jan for the birth of my 1st (A boy). So hopefully they leave me alone so I can play when they are all over my son. I just hope they aren't trying to hog my son so much that I can't even spend time with him. If that happens I am going to have to kick some people out lol. For the record I only invited 4 family members on both sides combined my wife invited the others she is too nice.

Be sure to let them know that you appreciate their help, but don't be afraid to establish the boundaries for their stay either.  This time will be physically and emotionally draining for the both of you and there will be times when you want to just be alone.  It will fall upon you (since the missus is too nice) to ensure that new mom gets her rest and new dad gets to keep his sanity by any means necessary.  It won't always be easy, but it is what it is.

Yay for sticky!  Thank you kiki.  So much for being able to change the name now, but that does legitimize us somewhat.  Now about that icon..........

I know I haven't been around much.  I wanted to say hi to all and I wanted to mark the new thread.  Halo 3 weekend we will have the kids so I don't know if we will be able to play with other adults since the kids are excited to play with us.  I may have convinced hubby to join us if we do all get together.

I finally passed my husbands gamerscore, but he spent the weekend playing Rayman Raving Rabbids out of bordum and past me by 64 points.  I guess I should put something in to pass him up again.  In time I guess.  I was thousands of points behind him for a vey long time, so I was proud when I past him.  Big Smile [:D]

Anyone else think MO MOSS's OP from the original thread (quoted above) should be added to EJ's OP in this one? Maybe EJ could have a mod add it to it.

My wife has this crazy idea that if she gets earphones and puts them on her belly our son will listen to enough sports he will play them and love them lol. I guess she wants him to be like me. Not that i'm complaining but I want to give him his own choice on what he wants to do. My dad pressured me into playing a lot of sports. I played hockey for 2 years, wresteled for 3, boxed for 6, basketball for 8, and football for 10 years. She used to be captain on a bunch of different dance teams and she also stepped. So naturally our kid is going to be talented right? HAHA it would be funny if he was the most clumbsy kid ever... Do any of you think that headphone thing works because she does?

I'm not sure if it works with sports, but listening to music can certainly help stimulate their growth mentally.  This may sound bad, but we were pretty typical in terms of "middle child syndrome" with our kids.  We played music for Ethan, and he developed early in terms of speaking and comprehension, Cal (the middle) we did not play music and it has been a little more of a struggle, Max (the youngest) we returned to the music, and he is progressing really quickly as well.  I'm not saying that it makes all the difference, but it is visible.

Another recomendation, if I may, is to speak to him, even from birth, like using adult words.  Ex:  "Do you want a bottle?"  As opposed to "Does hims want a baba?"  My inlaws talk to the kids like that, and it drives me nuts.  It takes a day to deprogram them if they stay the night with grandma and grandpa.

Good morning Gamerdads!  Hope everyone's having a great day so far.

I noticed the thread was stickied.  Nice.  A giant thank you to all at xbox.com for allowing us the opportunity to share.

I am fairly new to the group here and fairly new at posting on forums in general.  I guess one could say that at times I am still trying to find my internet "voice".  If anyone feels left out by me or my comments then I apologize.  I'm just glad that I found such a great group of people to socialize online with and I look forward to gaming with all of you in the future.

Capt. CJ- are you the GH player at your house?  If so, congrats on Guitarmaggedon!  There aren't many of us GH players on here, but I'm looking forward to 3 and RB.  That's the one game my wife will play with me.  If you and Twin are getting RB, we will be 3/4 of the way to a band.  I want to try singing and playing to see if I can do both at the same time.  If so, we will have our band!

Yeah, that's all me man!  I am still struggling with Expert a bit but the HO/PO are getting easier.  Yeah, I'm still tryin to figure out a way to get wifey to let me plunk down the $300 + it's gonna take to get all of that equipment & games.  She likes to play but has already undergone one Carpel Tunnel procedure, so I'm hoping that singing wins her over!  I think I'm most pumped up about the drums myself, just cause it looks freakin' awesome.

Funny GH sidenote: Before picking up Guitar Hero, I would strum air guitar lefty.  After playing the game, I've found that I'm a natural righty instead!  This happen to anyone else?

I'm a lefty, too, but when I started playing guitar a couple years ago I taught myself to play right handed (on purpose, more selection of guitars and all that).  There are quite a few leftys that do that because there is a larger number of guitars made for "rightys".

Is there anyone who would want to play through Gears on Hardcore?  I want to start gettting some more Achievements on that, and I need to get the ones playing as Dom as well as the ones for Hardcore.  I was hoping to do it sometime this weekend (maybe Saturday night some time, but not sure), just looking for someone to play with.

I'm left handed and I've been playing right handed bass guitar for years, it just comes more natural to me, but at drums I am a lefty all the way.

FR sent.  I am certainly up for it (since obviously I need Insane as well :) ), we'll just break it down over a few sessions and do a couple of acts a session or something like that.  I'll keep any eye out, we can set up a time to do it, too.
