Halo 3 Achievement Guide by DarthSnipa
We’re in For Some Chop - Go to Tsavo Highway at Checkpoint Alpha. Continue ahead until you reach the part with the Marines defending two small, connected buildings. Another lone one will be nearby. The building you’re looking for has a turret in it. In that room there should be three trip mines. Go ahead and, not using a mine, kill the Wraith. Find a Chopper and weaken the Chopper, not the driver, or else the driver will die while the vehicle lives. Once the Chopper is almost dead, drop a mine and lure the Chopper directly over it. After a subsequent boom, you’ve got your achievement. May take a few tries.
Two for One - For this achievement, camping on High Ground works great. One of the best strategies, in my opinion, is too wait for a vehicle like a Ghost, to be highjacked. When the player is boarding but the driver has been ejected, blow both of them away for a sure-fire achievement.
Steppin’ Razor - My favourite strategy for this is to go on the Pit, Crazy King. Grab the Sword and wait near the Hill. Once your enemies start pouring inside the Hill, slaughter ‘em all and **achievement**.
Mongoose Mowdown - Works great on Isolation and Valhalla. 2-4 Mongooses on those maps, so spend a match trying to mow people down. Hitting people into walls works the best because they hit something solid. Also try powersliding into them, because for some reason that seems to do a lot more damage.
Maybe Next Time Buddy - A great way to get this is to, if you are lucky enough, trap yourself in a corner and have a dumb enemy board you. Unable to leave, you can board him and get your achievement!
Lee R Wilson Memorial - Any confined map where you know the grenade spawns works extremely well, like Guardian and The Pit. Camping with your grenades near popular battle locations helps, too.
Up Close and Personal - Again, any confined, close quarters map works well. Simply hide near a battle and melee at will! Not very hard to do, I think I got this and Lee R Wilson in the first match I played!
MVP - Spawn. Strategize. Use teamwork. Shoot. Kill. Rinse. Repeat. Simple.
Headshot Honcho - Go to The Ark, Mission Start on the easiest difficulty. Grab your sniper rifle and start poppin’ heads! Since you’re on easy, the enemies aren’t exactly smart, and tend to stand still and cluster together. Easier to do in Campaign then Online.
Too Close to the Sun - Go to The Covenant, Mission Start on about Heroic. Best strategy is too continue past the first Wraith and get to the turn to continue uphill to the small Shade encampment. If you are on Heroic, or maybe Normal or higher, the Banshees actually fly towards you and give you an easy kill. On Easy or maybe Normal, though, they do not. (Or at lwast when I played that mission in those 5 times!)
Fear the Pink Mist - Go on The Covenant or The Ark. There are lots of Grunts with Needlers around, so start shooting and you’ll soon hear your beloved **ping**.
Used Car Salesman - Go to Crow’s Nest. In the hangars there are two Phantoms. Melee the turret under its belly and you get your achievement. If that doesn’t work, simply find a mission, like The Ark or The Covenant, with lots of Prowlers and kill one that has three or me people. Achievement.
Spartan Graduate - Earn 5 Exp and have a minimum skill of 0 to unlock this achievement.
Spartan Officer - Earn 70 Exp and have a minimum skill of 10 to unlock this achievement.
Triple Kill/Overkill - Earn a Triple Kill/Overkill Online sounds easy... and it is. So there really isn’t any advice for this. Using a Ghost to splatter could work, and another hundred ideas.
Killing Frenzy - A fairly difficult achievement but not more than something like beating Legendary. Simply camping with a Sniper on any big map works... or, I’m sad to say, using a Sword... over. And over. And over. I’m sorry... Sword noobs are annoying.
Meta-Game achievements - I’m not going to go through every mission and explain every little detail. But turning on the following skulls works extremely well, and will let you do it on easy.
Catch Skull, Fog Skull, Mythic Skull, Thunderstorm Skull, Tough Luck Skull, Famine Skull, and Tilt Skull. However, anytime you can get a tank, like on The Covenant and The Ark, TAKE IT! Always clear out every area completely. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE CAMPAIGN SCORING SET TO FREE FOR ALL OR IT WON’T WORK! Playing by yourself is better because you don’t have to share kills.
Marathon Man - I’m going to list the location of the Terminals for you. You should understand what I mean, because it’ll be easy.
In-Depth FAQ - http://forums.xbox.com/15771714/ShowPost.aspx
Terminals 1,2,3 - Terminals 1-1 are all found on "The Ark". The first is found the first time you walk inside (in a small hallway). The second is found right next to the control panel that lets the Scorpion Tanks across the bridge. The third and final on this mission is located under s set of stairs after the room with a bunch of sleeping grunts. You’ll miss this one if you aren’t careful, though. After killing the Scarab, and passing the room with the sleeping Grunts, there is a set of two days that let you go a different path into the next room. There should be some stacked explosive plasma cores near a wall. Under the stairs adjacent the cores, there’s a room with the Terminal.
Terminals 4,5,6 - These are really easy. On The Covenant, there’s one in each shield tower. In Tower 1 and 3, instead of going up the elevator to the control room to deactivate the barrier, keep going and jump the gap. The Terminal is literally right there. For Tower 2, head towards the second tower. Someone says, " The Elites have already disabled Tower 2. No need to land." Land anyways, and go inside like you would for Tower 1 and 3. Go as if you were going through the first door to enter the complex but turn around. The Terminal is right there.
Terminal 7 - On the final mission, Halo, the last Terminal is right at the beginning. Go to the place where there are a few structural beams criss-crossing the cliffs above. Instead, turn right and Cortana will ask, "Wait, where are you going?" Go inside and the Terminal is down the hall, on your left.
Skulls - Rather than list all of the skulls, here is a link to a website that has a list of all the skulls, and, if you need them, the armor permutations.

Sorry for the lack of skull info on my part, but the site says basically what I’d tell you. If you really need help and don’t understand something, send me a message over Xbox Live and I’ll try to help you!
