The ETA for launch is 11am Pacific. We should be live by then, barring hiccups, which may occur. But the content is there and ready to go.  And apparently the web teach never launches sites on a Friday because then they'd have to work all weekend if something went wrong.

The web team also built/maintains the sites for GamesRadar, Maximum PC, Mac|Life, Future Snowboarding, and Guitar World. That's one of the reasons it took a while -- they are busy and there were a lot of people in line. But the good thing is, we got a lot more functionality because each site that came before us said "We want to be able to do this and this" and they figured out how to do it for them. So we benefitted greatly from other people that came before -- and we asked for a few new things that will in turn be applied to the next site and all the other sites when they get a refresh.

OXMD is independent and official "on hiatus." This will be noted in the new reformatted and updated FAQ when the site goes live.

And Merc...the site will be up after 11am too.  :)

I REALLY figured you might. LOL You know me. I'll definitely let you know what I think. I will say this. I've had high hopes and dreams for the site. I gave the UK OXM site as an example to shoot for. Unfortunately it looks like they abandoned that format. Oh well. Anyway, from your content examples I like what I see. I'm sure it will be worthy of the wait.

LMAO.....no, no. I meant that he was one of the most brilliant men alive, and he had no common sense. It would take him hours to decide which suit to wear so he started buying all the same clothes. Here in California, as I write this, it's 11am. But the site is not live yet as there was in fact a small snag. There's a back-end issue that needs resolvin'. So...please stand by, we are experiencing technical difficulties. We do not have an ETA, but there's a problem with registration, and when it's fixed, the site goes live.

So "sometime today." I will post again when I know for sure.

I do (and have for a number of years), don't worry.

I suppose you have a point about the real estate, but I just think it detracts from the "pretty" of the site. Granted, this is what they want, something that is "eye-catching". But again, I think it could be a bit more "tasteful" ;-)

I already a subscriber. Though I am up for renewal in about a month. As soon as I get paid next week I'll be renewing. How's that sound?

 

Hey, I have no problem with it. The site is being used to sell the magazine after all. So it only makes sense and I have no problem with it whatsoever. But then again I used to have to sell a $2,500 yearly subscription for a market research newsletter on the website I ran. ;)
