Although I own both Shenmue 1 and 2, I would without question purchase them both again as Xbox originals to shed any ray of hope of seeing Shenmue return in part 3. It is truly sad that with so much public outcry for this series to return that Sega and Microsoft are content to let its fan base continue on without closure to the Shenme story. Shenmue 2 being ported from the Dreamcast to the Xbox never really had a fair shake with the Xbox community due to it being based on outdated technology at the time. Unlike Shenmue 2 at the time, I believe that Shenmue 3 being designed from the ground up on 360 would see sales resonate with both the established Shenmue community who have basically given a 200% guarantee that they will purchase a copy without question, and the many other 360 owners who are looking for an emotional and engaging experience on the Xbox platform. As a gamer who has spent nearly a lifetime dedicated to the art, I can honestly say that Shenmue stands out as one of the few moments in gaming that has a deep and profound lasting impression on a great many people from all corners of the earth.
