For the first time in my life I feel young posting on a forum. I'm 40 year old Dad, with two kids. I just love gaming. I'm totally useless but I think it's a great way to relax.

Re: Old gamers

Hey there my wife and I, 38 and 37 respectively, share this gamer tag. Our son isn’t playing yet; he’s two years old.

I started my gaming career on a TSR-80 (read: in the late 70’s … the Nineteen Seventies); “Dungeons of Daggorath” was pretty Awesome! And I have passed on my long time lingering addiction to my family, and they (hopefully) love me for it.

Feel free to add us to your friends list.

I just wanted to know that there is more than just younger, immature, loud, and stoned kids online. Good to see that there is.

I consider myself an old gamer so I'll post here. I'm 22 years old and would love to play with you guys at any game. I'm not a parent but send me a friend request if you need somebody to play online with.

I'll also like to join a fun and mature clan, so if any of you guys can recommend any active ones.

While we aren't exactly doing the meet and greet, there are several of us in my clan that are meeting up in Orlando, FL for the MLG tournament in July. While some of the girls are planning to compete several of us are going to just meet and hang out together.  I know I'll have a wonderful time.

MRS PJ54, welcome!!  I am an old[er] gamer.  I'm 42 and I plan on still gaming long past I'm 84.

Kwynn, your mom is my new idol. Big Smile [:D]  My mother just turned 80 and walks around singing with her little iPod, but I can't seem to get her to play games yet.  Perhaps I'l try her out on Zuma and see what happens. Stick out tongue [:P]

Well. I am not so experienced in my life like most of the post here.

But still welcome the VR world, place for ne opportunities and possibilities. It’s for sure much more fun then watching TV & drinking beer every evening.

P.s. I am a father though 28 years old.  My wife (26) and our kids 8+8+5 we all enjoy the X machine.

Re: Old gamers

I plan on getting my husband his own 360 as soon as I can.  I'm one of seven women who started an online gaming community called  DSO Clan (Delta Special Ops) and my whole family has joined it.  The hubby and all three kids.  Thankfully my oldest son (22) uses his brother's (18) 360 when he's in from college and I would share mine with my daughter (15).  Now that my husband (51) has started playing online with the rest of us I have to share with him too.  I don't mind, but it has seriously cut into my playing time.  lol

I love it that our whole family shares a love of video gaming even though we all have our own favorite games.

hehe - I was up visiting with my mom this weekend and when I walked in she was playing Zuma.  She's beaten the game so many times now I've lost track.  She's upset with herself though because she can't beat the game from start to finish two times in a row.  Apparently that's her new goal.  It's good to have goals.

That's cool about your mom and her iPod.

Its nice to meet this many grownup gamers. Big Smile [:D]

I'm 38, married with no kids. I'm the only gamer in the house but my wife has been warming up to Brain Age 2 a lot lately. We did try a few songs on Rock Band but that's about the extent of her Xbox involvement. Its also nice to see a lot of community websites popping up for older gamers.

Re: Old gamers
Of course there are a lot of games to choose from, but if you like 3rd person shooters, Lost Planet:Colonies is good game for online play with a decent crowd of players of all ages and nationalities. I regularly play with many gamers in our age range from all over the world and have made some wonderful friends. There a plenty of game modes and maps to explore that will fit your style of play. Speaking for some of the "old guys" on Lost Planet: Colonies, we enjoy a lot of the team oriented game modes that lets us employ a little strategy over our younger and faster counter parts;-) I regularly host games, so look me up if you'd like to play in the snow a bit.
