If you're having problems with the BlackCave try the Sorceress Mansion, if you're only getting 1% there and havent gone beyond the BlackCave yet, only place to level is the BlackCave, I would suggest sticking near the entrance and leaving when you feel like your characters need to rest, be sure to equip Seth or Mack with Turntail so you can runaway if need be. You should be around Lv28 before leaving the BlackCave.
Honestly, the Numara Atoll tips are the best answer to grinding; Black Cave is - what? - disk 2. You can start leveling at Numara Atoll and easily get every character up to level 40 before you get Sed and Tolten.
As an example, my characters were leveled to 42 when I got to the frozen Gohtza area, and they were leveled right around 50 when I went to the Temple of Enlightenment ( I completed the optional bosses and the Temple of Enlightenment right after completing the Great Ancient Ruins... ).
Someone touched on the strategy for defeating silver kelolons... I'd like to add just a little bit to that strategy. You may find that you are unable to cast gamble before they flee. Skill link Casting Support to Kaim and Seth and make sure that you have two mages that have at least Level 3 or 4 (can't remember which) Spirit Magic. You may have to equip accessories. Use the skill "casting support" on your GAMBLE characters and they will be able to get Gamble off before the silver kelolons take off. You should hopefully kill at least one of them. Do this before getting Sed and you'll get 16 SP every time you kill two of them. If you grind for about two hours as soon as you acquire Gamble, then you should be able to level to about 40 or so before you begin requiring multiple battles with SKs to level. Just make sure that you run from the Hell Shakers. Might want to use the "Turn-Tail" skill to ensure that you do not fight them in your Twenties...
It's lame, but worth it. But then again, the game is really easy (except for the Temple of Enlightenment) with your characters leveled. So the game gets kind of boring. That's vintage RPG for you, I guess.
