I still think it's funny that the main complaint about most retro games is difficulty


 remember the good old days...and I'm 25 so that's a feat......when you got to the last level, the game repeated....only faster and more psychotic.

my dad could spend hours playing miss pacman and he wouldn't lose a life. where as I suck at ms pacman considerablly I excel at things like galaga.

retro games sole purpose here is for the more grown up gamers that had fond memories of specific games. I grew up with frogger for example my dentist office as a child had it on free play.

and you think this game is hard now you should have played it when the only controls were a red button and a track ball.

Millipede's evolved version is frick'n great.  I turn the volume up to reference, bump up the sub a couple of notches, and turn on the Bass Shakers in the couch.  The explosions sound like a fireworks display and really hit my chest.  The visuals are kind of surreal too.  I love it.  Centipded is ok, but the sound isn't nearly as good.

The music is mind numbing though mate :(

I guess it helps that I like the music too.  Thankfully for the rest of you, it should support custom soundtracks. 

It's tormenting for sure, Getting 125,000 in millipede was very hard... I tried playing classic and evolved and found the evolved version a little easier for some reason. There are a few sound samples in millipede evolved that sounded kinda like some bits of OMD (Orchestral Manoeuvers in the Dark) songs. My mate had a millipede machine 10 years ago and I couldn't get past about 50,000 then.... seems my reactions get better with age ;-)

Only briefly tried Millipede myself. I don't want to start on that one until i get all the Achievements on Centipede. I need only the 50k one - got all the others on release day but haven't had the time to get into it again : (

 

Congrats on the 125,000 score - sounds huge! I look forward to beating it (though i'm still trying to beat your Geo Wars high score that's tainting my Friends' Leaderboard ). As for the different modes, I was initially looking forward to the Evolved, but once playing it i found the Classic more to my liking (for Centipede at least so far).

All you have to do for the mushroom achievement is keep shooting them and then die when the centipede comes close.  It seems that the bees don't come as much if you do it like that otherwise it is a bit of a pain.  If you can't do it in 3 lives then there is a chance you might be slightly challenged.  Good luck.

wow i feel the same about this game i just played it and the next mourning my xbox broke so pretty much this game can suck my *** ok

Centipede is one of my all-time favorite games, but this xbla "evolved" version is real terrible, i felt my eyes are going to explode after some minutes of playing it.
