Go NINERS!!! I live out in Knoxville, TN, but have been a niner fan all my life... I had grandparents in a city near SF called El Cerrito and used to go out there on christmas breaks to go to playoff games with my granddad... it was awesome. My first ever 9er game was, get this, the 81 championship game against the cowboys! Yep... Montana to Clark... The Catch! I barely remember it, as I was only about 6 at the time, but I was there...

A fan of both the 9ers and the 'boys? That can't be possible! Lol... You gotta hate the Raiders, the Rams, and the Cowboys if you are a SF fan... everyone knows that!

I know it's been a long time since a ring, but I still can't complain to anyone about it here without hearing "Five Rings, SHUT UP!!!" Lol...

Your a lucky fan-one of the greatest games of all time!  I honestly think our beloved 49ers will go 4-12 with all 3 QB's starting throughout the season.  Frank Gore will look more like he did 2 years ago.  Patrick Willis will follow up his breakout rookie season with another spectacular one.  The defense is good but will be on the field all season as the anemic offense will continue down its ugly path.  I would start Hill over Smith because he runs the offense a little better and doesnt turn the ball over as much. This will be Smith's 4th playbook already!   J.T. O'Sullivan will also get a few reps in at QB and ya never know.  Vernon Davis will be starting at TE for the NFC in the probowl.  As long as we beat the Rams and Cardinals and knock some one out of the playoffs I will be happy.  We are still rebuilding and it takes time.  Nolan will be fired at seasons end and they will bring Bill Cower out of retirement for next season.......or I could *** in one hand and wish in the other and see which one fills up first.  Go 49ers!

I don't think Bill Cowher would go to San Fran. He wants to be near his home in North Carolina.

Yeah I heard that I actually live in North Carolina and have heard all of the rumors of Carolina firing Fox at the end of the season and hiring Cowher.  I wouldnt mind seeing Mike Holmgren  finish his career where he started in San Fran. coming full circle  would be cool.  It will be interesting to see how Mike Martz offense goes this season.  Hopefully better than it faired in Detroit last season.

On the 7th of September Arizona's going down! I predict a Vernon Davis TD to seal the victory after Patrick Willis forces a fumble that we recover and the next play on offense Martz calls for play action and Hill or Smith hits Vernon in the endzone. Niners win! Niners win!

A lot of people keep saying smith is a bust but if you look at his stats he did the best out of his draft class and he was injured last year. Give the guy a brake we drafted him as a sophmore so he is still young. You never know.

Look at JM stats for his first few years with the niners.

Very good point and each of his 4 years he has had a different offense to run with different playbook.  Hopefully Mike Martz can get the full potential out of Smiths Brain and Arm.

Well I see it this way Niners will got 0-4 in preseason right when the Raiders smash them in the mouth with some running, and then going 2-14 in the season, mean while the Raiders will be a wild card team with a record of 10-6

Hahaha got to love that bay rivalry!  You a correct in one aspect-your silver in black "butt pirates" will be a much improved team but they are in a tough division with San Diego and Denver it will be hard for them to make the playoffs.  As for San Fran we are in the weakest division in football.  If we beat the Rams, Cardinals and Seahawks twice each we are pretty much a shoe in for the playoffs.  easier said than done.  Realalisticly speaking I think we go 5-11 or 6-10.  Good luck to your Raiders wish we played in the regular season but we dont so maybe we can hope they meet in the Super Bowl-now thats a laugher!

Yeah, you keep thinking that there is a "QB battle" going on.  Martz has already said that Smith has all the tools he would want in a QB.  There is no way that Hill has a shot to beat out Smith.

Im still mad that they took Smith instead of Rodgers. He will be a much better nfl qb. I will be happy if the niners finish with an 8-8 record. The D will be what would get them there. On offense, they need a qb and some wr's. i am not too satisfied with what they have there right now.

yea is we had 2 good hands out there for WR, and a rated 85 QB or above, the niners would be superbowl material
