Even though the OP says he was joking, I would agree with him about the jump button.
I'm betting the original didn't have jump because the NES only has 2 buttons! The obvious choice between jump or shoot is shoot. The bionic commando is a soldier, after all.
If they had included a jump ability in "Rearmed", the levels could have been designed around this, and in fact it could add a level of complexity.
I played MP with a friend of mine on his PS3 a while ago. I thought the controls were pretty cludgy, but I quickly got to where I could match or even beat my friend every now and then.
In reality, a cludgy, clumsy soldier would be a dead soldier.
Obviously you don't get the fact that he's big, heavy and full of metal....
What did I say? How high can you jump in real life? 1-2 feet? 3 feet? Even if you can jump like a pro Basketball player its really not near as high as Mario, even if you had a jump button it woudn't help you out of the platforming situtions in BC RA.
The controls are a bit cludgy? Well the game got a 9.5 higher than N+, The Maw and Braid.
You can jump in all of those games.
I have been banned till 2161.
Mod abuse to the highest power. Just another example of digital fascism.
