I think for the next burnout game (Whatever the title may be) they should include the best of both worlds.  Include an open world game where you can drive around, have friends join, do challenges or races, etc.  However, for races they should put the old turn here little walls with flashing arrows on them so the game is more about intense racing, not navigating.  There should also be an option to restart your last mission.

i wouldn't mind the little turn things...but give me the choice to follow that route or not.  i like the freedom of finding my own way...makes it more of a challenge when you realize you wanted to take that last turn and missed it...so do i turn around a back track or find another route??  on second thought...i don't need those arrowsWink [;)]

For the love of... just do us all a favor and get the heck out.  I almost feel bad that you're so stupid.

Note how Criterion's website barely even mentions Revenge except on the 'our games' page.  Obviously they have moved on from Revenge, and Paradise is their main focus, and will be well into next year.

Keep talking shxt.... Seriously Keep talking shxt...

Its obvious your just another noob who has no skills.. Revenge is way more complicated, way more faster, way more exciting, and definitely way better than that shxt of a game you call Paradise. The simple fact is this, you suck and dont know how to hold your speed and cant race properly that you settled into that shxt of a game called Paradise cause the only thing you have to worry about there is keeping your boost button on, and do barrels off garages. Even the takedown system on that game is shxt... and no amount of Downloads will ever fix that game... Do me a favor, Shut the Fuxck up... Your just another noob at Burnout... Dont even try to compare Paradise to those games....

Whats the point of playing something I dont like?... But I'd bet youd never play Revenge either....... and you know what, a lot of people still play it everyday... after 3 years, no new content, no maps, no new cars..... they still come back....

Burnout Paradise is obviously not nearly as mindless as Revenge. You need to find your own routes to the finish and stay sharp as opposed to slamming into everyone and follow the preset path.

Criterion shut down their forums because they cant handle responses like ours... Now, you deserved to be called an idiot. You act like you know what you are talking about when you really don't, and apparently don't think before you post.

Explain to me why Paradise is so mindless, just like Revenge. Give me facts, not just statements without even an opinion.

Well, duh, the cars are old. I mean, it's not like Revenge came out yesterday. And at least I knew about the cars.

No, Criterion closed their forums because no one acted like they were thankful for what Criterion have been doing for the Burnout community. People like you are to blame, for reasons that don't need to be explained. They are quite obvious, really...

Yes, let's argue without profanity, ***. I bet your mother wasn't too damn happy after she saw what you typed in that other *** post. Ha ha...

Hypocrite.

The 'conspiracy' thing is a bit of a joke. Usually when people argue that something sucks, they blame the people who made it and say that those people don't care or whatever. You weren't saying EA took over Criterion and made Burnout suck or anything like that. People around here take things too seriously.

I didn't start it, you bothered to retaliate. You will give up before you win, trust me on that one. Happens every time...

Oh yeah, not once did I say anything about you... but yet you blatantly call me an idiot or stupid for voicing my opinion.. because you cant handle it.. All I say was Revenge needs new tracks... not once was your name mentioned....Do you deserve to be called an idiot? Yes, you do....

Explain to you why Paradise is mindless? How about this... How about you explain to me why Revenge is mindless.. Give me facts.. Not just statements without even an opinion..... So how can I make my opinions look like facts? How can you make your opinion about Revenge look like facts then?

AND

1. Takedown system - Its broken.. Vapor already explained it as before..

"The takedowns don't even work properly! In Paradise, slamming another driver NEVER earns you a takedown because of the retarded distance delay between players. Most of the time, when you get taken down, the other guy didn't even make contact with your car on his screen. People have given me lots of excuses as to why this is an issue in Paradise and not at all in the earlier games - the most common of which was that, since Paradise takes place in an open world, it's hard or impossible to get the takedowns working lag-free. In which case I ask... if you can't fix the delay, why not make the takedowns less sensitive?"

 - This case I do agree on....

2. Racing - Wheres the racing in this game? Obviously..  Criterion doesnt even classify Paradise as a racing game.. As it is the best "driving" experience.. Close quarter racing probably do exist in this game, just not as good as Revenge. For the most part, in most races you only see your opponents in the beginning, during the start line, as everyone has different routes, and at the finish line... thats about it.. Maybe thats why theres no speedo in here, no way to tell how fast your going.. Yeah, maybe it really is a driving on top of garages to hit that billboard kind of game...But hey if that floats your boat go for it then..

3. Motorcycles, Planes, Hovercars...blah..blah..blah.. God knows what else they'll add or dont add.. How about we add missles and rockets next?..Just stupid stuff added to give hype to this game..

4. Achievements, Goals -- whatever they put up there for you to finish up.. After that, then what? The game doesnt have any incentive to keep its players focused on playing aside from the fact that you can drive around.. Theres no real feel of adrenaline packed racing/ driving here...If I wanted to drive around, Ill just get MC:LA.. atleast I can drive around and dxck cops there in the process... Thats why they keep adding new stuff into it, new DLs, new maps,..ect.. just to keep people on it.. because without it the new DLs, the game is already dead... Atleast in Revenge, we still have tourneys planned... what do you have?

So just a couple of my own opinions... What's yours about Revenge? And oh.. If your going to argue about boost jumping --> thats too bad.... cause apparently, for some people its too hard to do those.. Maybe not you...

------------------------------------

About those old Revenge cars? Yeah, I have them.... so I know about them... The fact that you said it was new.

Atleast in Revenge, we still have tourneys planned... what do you have?

5. They even took crash mode out... Disappointed Crashers? Yes..

6. IMO, B3 and Revenge had near perfect formula, but with its own flaws. I do give props out that Criterion wanted to make something new.. But to make something so drastic without even paying attention to what many fans wanted... really sucked.. Many players who play this game and stick with it probably never played B3 or Revenge. How can they even get a concept of what previous Burnouts were like? The close competition, the near misses, a better takedown system, you seriously had to be perfect just to get good speeds, good jumps, and good drifting in both games or to have Top 2o laps.. With or without boosting or jumping, those games really had a good formula of incorporating skill on maintaining speed, getting good speeds, not just memorization on the fastest tracks...

So just a couple of my own opinions... What's yours about Revenge? And oh.. If your going to argue about boost jumping --> thats too bad.... cause apparently, for some people its too hard to do those.. Maybe not you...

In case you havent noticed..... were still talking about the original question.. We are still on topic..

The original question asked is: "Should thay make Burnout Paradise 2?"

My answer is no.... and I gave my responses as to why it shouldnt because of what I see as really bad qualities of this game.... Maybe some people just dont want to hear that word "No?" ... and all they want to hear is "Yes, Paradise is the best!"...?

Do you know what youre talking about? Or are you just fronting too? And i deserve to be called an idiot? Hhhhmmm...... Who started it?

Note how Criterion's website barely even mentions Revenge except on the 'our games' page.  Obviously they have moved on from Revenge, and Paradise is their main focus, and will be well into next year.

Oh yeah, not once did I say anything about you... but yet you blatantly call me an idiot or stupid for voicing my opinion.. because you cant handle it.. All I say was Revenge needs new tracks... not once was your name mentioned....Do you deserve to be called an idiot? Yes, you do....

 gravy666 wrote:

Explain to me why Paradise is so mindless, just like Revenge. Give me facts, not just statements without even an opinion.

------------------------------------

About those old Revenge cars? Yeah, I have them.... so I know about them... The fact that you said it was new.

 gravy666 wrote:
Check my Achievements, Burnout Revenge is on there. And yes, there are new cars for download, you apparently never checked.

.... really caught me by surprise... considering you know so much about the game right?

I'd quit making assumptions right now.....

You deserved to be called an idiot, people just like you troll this forums all the time, wishing that their favorite game gets the attention. It's a fine example of internet immaturity. Those of you who don't know what I'm talking about, I suggest you go to other forums besides Xbox.com, because these forums happen to be some of the worst unfortunately.

Now, time to state my opinions. I think Paradise is a step forward for racing games. Yes, a lot of luxuries from the series are missing in this entry, but from a reviewing standpoint, the game is the best entry in the Burnout series.

The thing that Paradise has that other racing games don't is events with the entire city open to players. There are no closed courses, and therefore no 'right' route to the finish. Players need to stay sharp to make sure that they don't miss an important turn, just like in real driving. In previous Burnouts, you would just wrecklessly smash into your rivals (and anything else), and follow the track to the finish. It's a little more fun I think, but it doesn't take as much skill as in Paradise.

You see, with Paradise, it is a game that takes time to get good at. The best racers have spent plenty of time honing their skills and learning the lay of the land. Being able to win a long race without needing to look at a map is an achievement in itself.

The city is extremely detailed- obviously a lot of work went into it. Each road and turn is unique, no two roads are the same, like snowflakes. That said, the details help make it easier to navigate the vast city.

And the amount of content for the game is just outstanding. Road Rages, Races, Marked Man events, Burning Routes, Time Road Rules, Showtime Road Rules, billboards to smash, shortcuts to find and fences to break, jumps to land, bikes to ride, online challenges- I can't even name all of them off the top of my head. And online play brings the constant struggle of ruling the roads among your friends- that surely never ends.

If that's not your cup of tea, fine, not everyone's the same. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean that it sucks. It might suck to you, but you know what they say: "One man's trash is another man's treasure."

The takedowns are fine and have always been fine since Burnout 1. Unless you're talking about online lag, I don't see what the problem with the takedown system is.

About Criterion's Forums. People like you were apparently ruining the fun for others by demanding crap like Revenge 2. Posting in the wrong forums, whatever. Trolling. Those people did not want to accept what Criterion were doing with Burnout. So, no, Criterion aren't to blame, it's people like you that gave them a bad rap. Good luck trying to win that argument.

I said that the DLC cars for Revenge are 'new' because they aren't included on the disk, and when you download them, they are new cars in your collection. Apparently I need to explain everything to you...

How am I hypocritical? You were saying that we should have an argument without cursing when you started the cursing to begin with and you still continue you. I was making fun of how you can't even remember what you said earlier in your own posts.

Back on Topic: Some sort of Paradise 2/Burnout 6 will inevitably happen in the future, but right now there is no need for a sequel. Criterion have plenty of DLC on the way this year, and it looks like it might possibly go into 2010.

Internet maturity? Interesting how you stated that but started it in the first place by calling me stupid. My reasons for calling you stupid doesnt have anything to do with me trolling as you would suggest it, but it certainly has everything to do with the fact that you blatantly called me out when I didnt do anything to you. If you never said that to begin with.. none of this would have happened. Your comment, is just looking to flame me... Whether or not, my views about Paradise is the same as yours, does not stop me nor anyone from posting in this forum. The fact is I was answering the Original Post, and I did answer the Original Post, maybe not to your liking, but answering it nontheless... I will however agree with you that these forums are some of the worst unfortunately...

I dont see a problem with what you wrote. In fact what you wrote is probably true from your perspective... Im not going to doubt that you like this.. nor will you doubt that I like Revenge more. I dont have problems with you liking that Paradise. You might be more into open world racing rather than me doing closed track racing....... To each their own... Theres nothing wrong with that....

I have my own views and opinions about why I think Revenge is better. I can go into it, but I cant persuade you to like it nor am I going to try to persuade you.. Your entitled to your own thoughts. IMO, all three games require time to completely master..You can argue that Paradise takes time.. Im sure it does, but so does Revenge and B3, if you want to get the max speed in every turn, every jump, every drift, every straightaway, and the most perfect fastest route.... You may think that because it is a closed track that it really is just one way and that everyone has to take this route or that route, the fact is... to be the best racers in those games, you have to know and understand when to take what route, or how to drift a turn properly whether it be brake boosting or clean drifting, or how to get max boost jump off a ramp, depending on your speed and placement in a race...

Do you always expect things to be good? Its simple really... as paying customers, I think were entitled to have our opinions looked at and As people who keep their company going by buying their games, why shouldnt we be? Arent you entitled to your opinion? Im sure I bought Paradise as well and so did thousands of other players that didnt like it? And After all, wasnt it was our money that bought Revenge and B3 that kept Criterion and its employees into making Paradise... am I right? So how come were not entitled? Which brings me to this point...If we demand some things, arent we going to use our credit cards to purchase it anyways?

Maybe you need to be more accurate.. because whether or not they arent included in the disk, DL or not, those cars have been there for 3 years already....and they are old...anyone with common sense can understand that... And Im sure you do too...

If your mad about me saying something on the lines.. of keep talking shxt, keep talking shxt? Your a mature adult right? You should be able to handle this appropriately... I see nothing wrong with how I responded to you, whether I cursed or not. In fact, I thought it was quite an appropriate response after you flamed me.

My argument up there, doesnt have any cursing in it... Its in that one line after you said that my mother would be damn mad is she saw me writing this... That line was a response to your cursing....

Making fun??....In many ways, thats probably the only reason why some people still have some form of sanity in this forum..

----------------------------------------

You know, we could argue this for a while.... Obviously your not relenting, nor am I.. Im not going to persuade you nor will you persuade me... So what do you suggest? Since Im free to come here and post just as long as I answer the topic, I could... I dont think that you will stop me from coming here, nor can I stop you from going to the Revenge forums and wreak havoc there too....

One more thing I forgot to add... If Criterion truly goes into forums and looks at responses... Shouldnt they have anticipated that people will voice their opinion.. What happened there was a forum that wasnt run well.. Every Revenge post was being deleted and every thing that doesnt comform to Paradise was blocked or deleted as well. Was it our fault that they couldnt see our opinions? No... I wasnt aware that, that a forum should be a dictatorship.. I thought it was supposed to be where people should voice their concerns. Afterall it is a Criterion forum right? Doesnt Criterion include those other Burnout games such as Revenge and B3, B2..ect? So how if these games are Criterion games, and a forum is supposed to be where people should voice their opinions whether negative or not, How come Revenge concerns were being deleted?

No, it wasnt players like me. The authority on closing the forums down still rest on their hands.. They should have fully understood that there will be bad responses, negative criticism there.. they should have kept that forum going and let its members take care of it... The decision rested on them.. They pulled the plug, not us....

I think Burnout Paradise is perfect.  All they need to do is add more downloadable content.  Yet, in a few years the next Burnout game should be amazing.
