you can counter anything in any game
you can be just as good as them in Call of Duty it takes skill and alot of time.

This is a good faq! Clear a lot of the doubts. As for Warrior I M, stop complaining about the freaking overshields. You can't rely in having an overshield forever. Do you think real soldiers have an overshield where they can just run around jumping?

i dont know about you guys but i was at game stop recently and the guy that worked there said it was coming out sometime in september around the 10-20.....

I just bought Halo 3 yesterday...never played it before...the game is SICK!

how are people compareing COD4 to this game?

No, Halo 3: ODST doesn't require you to install Halo 3 in order to play it. In fact, Bungie advises not to install Halo 3 to your HDD since it causes some issues.

No, you will not need Halo 3 to play Halo 3: ODST. They are two entire different games, the only similarity really is ODST will use the same multiplayer system as Halo 3.

What happens to all these little skulls i've been finding all over the place?
The gold and silver skulls found in the campaign of Halo 3 have various effects and also increase the multiplier when using campaign scoring.

Will everyone be ranked at an ODST zero?
I imagine that the ranks from Halo 3 will transfer over to Halo 3: ODST since you are on the same multiplayer server.

What is this recon you all speak so highly of?
Recon is an armor permutation that Bungie employees and small percent of the community where. Check out the first FAQ in this thread for more information.

Well to get it you do have to get the Vidmaster achievements, and beating the last level of Halo 3 in 4 player co-op with everyone in ghosts is tricky, as well as finding all the skulls on the Mythic Maps.

1. i have heard that you dont need halo3 to play halo odst. this is good for me because i do not have halo 3 and do not plan on buying it. i want odst when it comes out however. my question is, is this true? will i need halo 3 or not to play odst?

2. when you say the multiplayer is like halo 3, im hoping it has deathmatch and all that stuff. i have never played halo games before so i may sound noobish or stupid, but will odst have deathmatch and game modes similar to that along with co op, or will there only be 4 player co op? because i dont give a damn about co op, i want deathmatch hahaha

yea that honestly does make it much clearer thanks.

but just one last question:

are there things in halo 3 and/or halo wars that i can use to have a different/better game experience in odst? such as unlockables or carry over data? i plan on buying halo wars cuz the demo was amazing, but im not gonna go back and buy halo 3. if i dont buy halo 3, will i be missing out on much in odst?

There aren't any items/equipment that you unlock if you own Halo 3 or Halo Wars nor game saves that transfer over. However, if you haven't played Halo 2 or Halo 3, then you might be missing out on a huge part of the story since ODST takes place half-way between Halo 2 and the beginning of Halo 3. It will just be easier to put the puzzle together so-to-speak if you know the story.

No you will not need the Halo 3 disc to play ODST. ODST will not have the Halo 3 campaign it will just have the campaign expansion. It will have Forge and Theater, etc.

Yes, everything will transfer. Look at ODST as another way to access Halo 3 multiplayer, not as a brand new multiplayer.

i have reconsidered buying this game. ive never played a halo game before, and i want to have a fresh start. for example, if they make a halo 4 tht has its own mulitplayer and no carry over data, ill get it. i dont want odst because i will be way behind with all the recon armor and that kind of crap.

halo 4 will most likely not exist, bungie has said HALO is a trilogy and other style games will be released with a halo theme (rts and tactical fps for example)

alrighty then. when no good looking games are coming out and i have tons of spare cash... halo 3 will be right in my pocket.
