RE: Re: Project Gotham Racing 3 FAQ

Hi all,

I have a question. Is it still possible to complete a championship on steel, bronze and silver if you already achieved them all on gold or platinum? So when I’ve earned the all gold or all platinum achievement I can still achieve the other achievements??

Regards,

Tim

You can go back and do the championships again, but if you complete them with all platinum you will get all the achievements and badges for ranking in one go.

As far as I know there is no way to export images out of PGR3, other than the use of video capture.

Hi Tim,

first of all, the cone challenge in gold is very difficult, I only got 2 of them.

The Palmer Sport Palmer Jaguar works the best for me at this moment.
All the other cars I've tried so far bumps into the cones.

by the way, if you finished them in gold you can come to my place in Amersfoort to finish mine ;-)

Cone challenges on this game are VERY easy in comparision to PGR2.  Use the ultima GTR and just concentrate on NEVER letting your combo bank instead of speed.

Project Gotham Racing 3 FAQ

Ultima GTR is indeed the car to race them on gold. (and platinum).

With all the other cars I've tried I ended 2K kudos short, with the Ultima I ended 2-4K kudos over.

Tim good luck

Try making tiny drifts between cones. You can get some extra time to manuever that way.

Well I have a question about where did all the cool stuff go from PGR2 like the medal info and the customizable soundtracks.  i mean pgr2 had a great sound track and the ability to look at wether you had raced the race on medium or easy and had the medal beside it.  dont get me wront i love pgr3 its one of the best racing games i have ever played but i was just wondering if they just had to cut those things out last minute or what.  anyone got any reasons why that stuff wasnt in pgr3

You have unlimited customizable play lists.  Hit the guide button and just play some music?

This really should be clarified a LOT more under the "Q: Does Project Gotham Racing 3 support custom soundtracks?" entry. You have to use the Xbox 360 guide feature, which pauses gameplay I may add, in order to even access and/or select a different track. This is NOT a custom playlist by any definition since anyone could get the same thing by simply playing a CD thru their stereo rather than going thru the hassle of ripping CD's to the Xbox 360's hard drive.

After going to Bizzare's website forums I found the following entry from Elvis:

"Nope.
You can only play custom soundtracks through the guide. It's something we looked into, but for various reasons (most of which we cannot disclose) we couldn't make this happen.
Sorry."

And that's the part that really fustrated me the most was to find out after spending an hour ripping my CD's to the drive, and again this is NOT clarified either in the FAQ or in the manual, I find out the only way I could use them was to go into the Xbox 360 guide, pause gameplay, and do everything from there. I'm sorry but that really stinks no matter how you try and gloss it over.

At this point any desire to play this game any further just soured considering I can easily go to Forza Motorsport and at least get true "custom soundtrack" support rather than this crippled BS. I really expected more from Bizzare on this and that's what stings the most is that this game is marred by a previous-gen game.

Didn't see this question answered yet, so I'll give it a go... You don't need a second gamertag, you just need a second profile on your 360, then when you go into the Playtime menu (or somewhere in there), you will see the option to hit the "Y" button to setup the profiles.... make sure both are active and you should be good to go... this is a basic description. If you're still having troubles, I can detail this further.

Thanks for the extra clarification.

I think it is fine. You can create your own custom playlists also from various cds, as you may know, or you can make up playlists using the music stream off of your computer using the Media Center Extender/Connection. There would be no need for extra customization for music within games at this point, since it is already covered by the system. I do agree that a little direction would be helpful (I have found that most instruction booklets are starting to lack, big time).

What I do miss is being able to create the cusom soundtracks using the songs within the game...and maybe being allowed to rip them onto the hard drive.

Ya it stinks that you need 2 accounts to play, you can have a silver account and get a free trial for gold, I'm not sure if silver can play online with a gold or not or w/e, that be a nice answer to get. Just give them time maybe they will do something that will let guests play too.

Lets clarify this before any confusion arises, again. One person per xbox on Live, two persons per xbox for offline play with split screen. Once again, only one person per xbox on Live!
