I have a question about all this... So if this does eventually happen, then what kind of clothes are you going to get from a game that is less obvious than a game such as Fallout 3 or Star Wars TFU? I mean a game like Need For Speed or something, you know, a racing game or something like it without much personality in the characters and more in the cars... Are we going to get shirts with a car logo? While the more obvious games seem to have a good thing going for them, other games will be left out eventually. There needs to be a lot of thinking before this (achievement clothes) actually happens.
i think there are tons of options for gamer clothes right now. besides the armor/clothing that in-game characters wear (which is a-lot of stuff. even every sport game could have jersey's available), it could be achievement related. maybe the name of the game with 1000 complete on it when u beat the game/complete all achievments or the name of a really difficult achievement that u unlock clothes and achievment at the same time, so u can show off ur skills...or a something on a hat...or game related shoes or boots. maybe a prop (tho ms said at some point no weapons for avatars, but that would be awesome)...maybe even hairstyles similar to certian game characters. sunglasses, or masks, or helmets.
as for the need for speed example, it' strue some games are going to present a little more creative thinking. I mean, how about a police tee from the in-game cops. simple, but it is possible.
Not only would this show off the gamer's hard work in a certian game it's pretty decent advertising for developers/publishers. i mean, u see some guy's avatar with some bad quantum singularity gear, and u want that game to get that cool gear.
