ok SO i think i found an EASY way to unlock acheivments.... i've been building up my collection for Kasumi (only need like 4 more suits) once i get all of them i was goin to give all the ones that i can to Ayane my partner...(except the ones from zach which you cant gift)....if this works then i could do the same with another character....maybe cuz i suriously want to say i got an acheivment from this game....it puts all my others to shame....well except for getting A Dish Best Served Cold in gears....without even playing the game on HARDCORE!!!

What are the criteria for getting the special swimsuits (Ayane>Raccoon, Hitomi>Bear), I've gotten them but not sure how, is it complete a vacation? Also I've noticed I always get a Silver Ball, then Gold Ball, then Strange Ball from Zach in that order is this corresponding to something (days spent maybe?)

As far as I know the special suits (Racoon, Bear, Rabbit, etc.) are given by Zack to specific girls (ie:  Kasumi wouldn't get the Bear & Kitomi likewise wouldn't get Kasumis Rabbit outfit).  Once those are opened they immediately become favorites of those characters.  I'm betting that it's the same thing for the special soccer balls.

Not all the characters have the same amount of special suits from Zack.  Most of them only get one.  Those characters that have more than one outfit are typically favorites of Itagakis.  Also keep in mind that once you open the gift (that has the suit(s) in them that Zack sends) it's automatically considered a favorite outfit.

One way to find out that character's love quote is to give them their favorite food thats listed in the manual.
They usually say something about cherishing it forever or something like "You shouldn't have!". Or in Ayane's case, not say anything but you hear her say "AH!" (or at least she does in Japanese)

Lisa: "Wow! Thank you! I love it!" (love, duh)

Ayane: "This is pretty nice." (like)

Kasumi: "I appreciate the thought, but I can't accept this." (doesn't like)

Kokoro: "Wow, I'm so happy! I'll treasure this forever, I promise." (love)

If the character already has the item she'll probably give it back to you as a present regardless of whether she likes your character or not.  It's preferred that you gift them perishable items during one of the day segments.

Do you mean for the "make _ friends" achievements?
Or if your partner likes you?
To see if your partner likes you just look at how many notes they have when they meet you in the Mornings,a bunch of notes rising fast means they really like you,no notes means they don't like you.

If you are asking about them being your "friend" for the "make _ friends" achievements:
You know they're your friend when you have all of their suits.Example: Hitomi gives a copy of each of her suits to Tina;Tina now has 1 "friend",now Lisa gives a copy of each of her suits to Tina;Tina now has 2 "friends" unlocking that achievement for Tina.

Once you get her to like you alot and win a bunch of the minigames in a row she'll be so happy she might send you a random gift,but rarely will it be a suit(and it can even be from someone else's collection).

What you need to do is play as Helena and give her suits to Kokoro(if you want Kokoro to get the achievements),that's the only way to guarantee you get all of them.
You'll need a strategy for gifting the suits that get rejected since it's not as easy as one would think,of course I recommend mine at the top of this forum but it's up to you to see what works for you.
Good luck getting the achievements,it's very time consuming but not impossible.

The "secret achievement" of this game is exactly the entire collection of every item and suit...How exactly does one aquire it...? Well since I just got it recently I will share the exact method and what exactly you need, since nobody seems to bother posting how to acquire it exactly ...So that if future players who get close to the last achievements of this game who may be wondering or are confused as to how exact gained it and what they really need to have/get, they won't have much problems knowing what they are doing wrong or missing. You need everything the game has to offer to buy...Plus a few Zack only aquired items...Here is what you really need to aquire this ridilcious 100 pts achievement for all 9 girls...

• Every single suit avalible to collect
• Every single item from Zack of All Trades
• Every single accessorie thing to buy
• Every single vollyball, including silver, gold, and strange platinum vollyball
• Every single activity ticket as well as the casino secret ticket
• All the cameras, including the quite expensive one, along with the additional film you can buy in the Sports Shop.
• You must buy every single Jet Ski (watercraft(s) ) for every single girl too...

Once you have every single of these things which is basically everything to get, buy, and aquired for all 9 girls...you will unlock it when you go to bed with the last girl that is left to get the last item ever...Good luck to feature players of DOA Xtreme and players seeking this achievement..hope this helps...And answers some of your "secret achievement" questions...!

A good post for all those wishing to get the secret achievement but let me save you some of your hard earnt zack dollars.

You don't need the jetski's to obtain the 100 points.  All the other items for each girl yes, but jetski's for some reason are not required.

LoL thanks...but for some reason I swear to you...that even after getting the camera film for every girl I still didn't get it...until I actually brought every jet ski...bad luck or game glitch for me I guess...Try it as "Dolts" says everyone...and see if you have better luck than I did getting this achievement...

That's really weird as i got the 100 without buying any of the jetski's, just kept the default one.

The game has thrown up some weird glitches thats for sure during the past few years ! The main thing is Samus, you have got one of the hardest achievements so congrats matey !

Press X at the hotel. Select the suit and then hit "Add to collection".
