quick question, im having a right git of a time getting the first skull, so far tried easy and normal, but the maximum number of grunts iv been able to kill is 97/100 before the base is clear, i know what before you save the marines their kills dont count, but do you have to play on a harder difficulty to get the skulls?

For mission 1, I did it on Heroic but it is possible to get skulls on all 4 difficulties.

Just to give you guys a quick tip:

The guys at Red Vs Blue (A Bungie/Microsoft sponsored Halo 3 Machinima group) got an early copy of the game (complimentary of Microsoft).

Their achievement hunter site has some good tips on achievements and so on if you are looking at them.

However, be warned, they are comedians who make videos using the M Halo 3, so some of their other videos have violence and language (all in Halo 3/other video games). Halo Wars is a "T" game so I wouldn't recommend checking out their site unless you were fine with Halo 3 levels of violence (which admitedly isn't like Gears or GTA) and very strong language.

The achievement hunter videos, however, don't really have language. You can also find them on youtube, without using their site, which wouldn't be bad.

The guide is useful. For the skulls all you need is to kill a required amount of opponents and then the signal flare will signify where the skull has appeared. Up to Mission 8 I have all the Skulls and Boxes, and I am just checking Mission by Mission.

Dont the boxes count toward the 40 timeline events achievement?

I view the ingame screen to know which Skulls I need and use Service Record to know what boxes I still have to get.

I just have two Skulls to collect (Mission 9 and Mission 10) and have five boxes (Mission 9, Mission 10, Mission 11, Mission 12 and Mission 13) before I get two more achievements.

i got all of the skulls exept #16.  i have the achievement gravedigger for getting all the skulls but at the bottom of the screen, were they put helpful hints, it says that i have 15 of 16 skulls

I got banned for apparently swearing lol. I dont remember which thread I did that in tho but it was when I would be getting in daily arguments with some of the people on this forum lol. It was only a 3 day ban tho.
