Do you comment on every post you don't like?  Why must you flame me?  If you don't like my post.....just ignore it and move on to the next one.  It's relatively simple.  Hopefully, a moderator will remove your posts and my responses per my request....as this is entirely unnecessary.

Re: Post your AV Setups - Part 2
I have posted my setups before I have been working on my projector setup which is part of a whole house networking project so I thought I would post the updates

here is the living room TV set up

http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x254/NateDawgK2/Setup1/

samsung 42"
custom sony 5.1 surround

and here is my latest verson of my projector setup

http://s187.photobucket.com/albums/x254/NateDawgK2/Latest%20Setup/

the pics dont show the quality of the image very well but its full 1080p
and it might look a little sloppy compared to some of your professional theatres but like I said - its an onging project and when the lights are off - its just as encompassing as any theater

cheapo-craigslist speakers for now
92" panaview greywolf II screen
optoma 72HD projector
and the computer is my baby - dell XPS 1530

you will see my structured wiring project that still has a ways to go - running a full cat 6 network w/ dell powerconnect gigabit switch and Linksys 610N wireless router - the network distribution hub and whole house speaker hubs are installed and operational but not all my output wirings are installed yet so there is a ways to go
and I havent added the cable or telephone distribution hubs yet but they are coming....slowly but surely
This is what I do

Why does it bother you so much? I don't see what the big deal is.

You speak of reassurance, but posting your setup serves no purpose either when you think of it.

And if you say "people can get ideas", well telling people what you got something for, can give others an idea of potential pricing in other places.

Looks great, I would love to see some pictures if you get a chance.

Here is a picture of my bedroom setup now that I installed the mount for the TV.

I have to make another trip to the hardware store today so I can mount the projector.

Okay, here's my set up: Sony 34XBR960 (beast of a TV, but great picture), Onkyo 606 receiver with 7.1 surround sound, DirecTV HD-DVR, Xbox 360, PS3 (mainly used for watching blu ray movies). I'm using Onkyo speakers, but not sure what kind. I think the speakers are the weak link, but they work well enough for now. My iPod is connected to the 360, and I do most of my streaming (including Netflix) with the 360, also.

The 360 is hard wired to my router; all other components, including lap top, are connected wirelessly. As I'm not very technically oriented, getting the wireless network up and running was a pain with a lot of time spent talking to tech support. But it all seems to be working well now. I'm using road runner turbo and I usually get about 18-20 mbps.

The package I have is advertised as "up to 15 mpbs." However, when I check the speed at Speakeasy.com and Speedtest.net, it's usually up around 20. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I'm using a wireless N router with a wireless N adapter on the lap top. That may have sped things up, but I'm not sure.

Yea if it is testing you connection to your computer rather than your router then it probably makes a difference, I'm only using G on my laptop, but my server is Cat6 wired FTW! (It does get faster speeds.)

Yeah, I was wondering why the center was so much nicer than the L/R. Well, you can always upgrade later to a pair of 684 L/R and 686 surrounds. Not that it doesn't sound good now.

Ha yea I seriously mismatched it, but I was surprised how good the LM series is.  Do you know if the CM7s or 9s are good for the money? Or should I stick with the 600 series?

I believe the business is more of a dedicated speed.  CraigT has the unfortunate possibilty that his line get "saturdated" (higher # of people per area), and from there the speeds may drop.  ISPs give theoretical outputs, not actual outputs when they sell.

Yeah I think that is right, because mine has never dropped more than 25%(I test a lot) from the theoretical values that they sold me.

Re: Post your AV Setups - Part 2
My set-up feels soooooo empty.  The sub, center, and rears are all boxed up and prepped for shipment to their new owners.  All that's left are the mains, which I'll try to keep until the replacements come in.

I auditioned the Paradigms yesterday.....both the Signature and the Studio series.  More on those in a minute.  The audio botique I went to seemed to be more geared to custom installations and had a large variety of in-wall speakers.  I wasn't interested in those, but I also listened to:

Martin Logan Spires - New line of panels and they sound amazing....still, I think I am done with electrostatics.  They have the "coolness" factor, but I've grown a little tired of the size.  Excellent sound though and would consider if I had a dedicated 2-channel system.

Energy Veritas V2.3i - Nice sound....a little bright in my opinion.  Not my cup of tea in the styling department.

Paradigm Signatures - The demo set-up had the S6 mains, C5 center, ADP3 rears, and the new Sub 25.  They were running the set-up with an Anthem D2 and an Anthem P5.  Sweet!  This set-up is pretty close to what I was after and it sounded phenominal!  There was amazing detail and the high frequencies were actually present (in comparing my Ascents...which lack high highs).  The soundfield was very enveloping and the dynamic range and impact was awesome.  The Sub 25 was a beast (I've read that to get the most out of this sub, you need a dedicated breaker....the amp is that powerful!).  It certainly put my Descent to shame.  Granted, this was a sealed demo room and my room is not sealed and not ideal....nonetheless, the Sub 25 rocks!  Overall impression of Signature Series - WHOA!

Paradigm Studio - The demo set-up did not yet have all v.5 versions.  The only v.5 they had was the 100s and the CC-590.  I was hoping they had the CC-690 on display, but oh well.  They were running ADP-590 v.4 for rears and a Servo-15 for the sub.  The new finish of the v.5 is very stunning.  The v.5s closely resemble the sig series with the new design and finish now.  The sound was very similar to the Signature series.  The demo room wasn't as nice so it makes it tougher to make a perfect comparison.  It think the smaller center channel (campared to the C5) didn't help and the sub performance was night and day when comparing with the Sub 25.  I did get to hear the 100s by themselves for some stereo music listening and was in awe at the presence of these speakers.  The soundstage is so much bigger than you'd expect it to be.....it seems to extend even beyond the walls of the room.  Listening to Madonna's "Vogue", there were cues that seemed to be coming from all different areas of the room.  It was pretty fascinating for just two speakers.  Overall impression of the Studio Series - WHOA!

I think that was a drawback of my Ascents was that in order to properly place them, they would have been too far into the room and wouldn't have been practical.  Hopefully, with new speakers that have a little more leeway in placing (not dipoles)....I can get better imaging in my room.

So, now on to the decision I've made.  I chose the Paradigm Studio line and the main reason was cost justification.  The Signature line for S8, C5, and ADP3 would run $12,900 MSRP, while the Studio line is just over half of that.  I cannot honestly say that the Signature sounded much better than the Studios.....and certainly not twice as good.

So, the new speaker system will be comprised of the following:

Mains - Paradigm Studio 100 v.5
Center - Paradigm Studio CC-690 v.5
Rears - Paradign Studio Esprit v.5
Sub - JL Audio Fathom 113 (1 will be delivered tomorrow, may order a 2nd in the near future)

You may wonder why I chose the Esprit for the rears.  1) I don't have enough wall space on the rear wall for the ADP-590, 2) I prefer a direct speaker for the rears and I like to listen to a lot of multi-channel audio, and 3) I don't want bookshelf speakers sticking out a foot from the back wall.  The Esprit, while a little expensive to use for a rear speaker (more than a pair of Studio 60s), seemed to be the perfect fit as I need something wall mountable with a slim profile.  It's mounting system will enable me to aim it into the listening area.

So, that's it.  I'll have to wait a couple weeks before I order them, but I'll post pics once they get all set up.

Cheers!  Big Smile [:D]

I have not auditioned the CM series personally. They have a hardcore following on avsforum where some members prefer them to the more expensive 700 series so they are probably a good value. Unfortunately, none of the dealers in my area have them on their floor.

I have not heard the CM9's, but if the CM7's performance is any indicator, you will not be disappointed.
