Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
Yeah, I guess its too much to expect thoughtful reviews huh? I'm pleasantly surprised. I agree that the graphics are not killer, but they are HD and passable. To me its a fun sandbox game, and a different take on the capture the flag (areas) scenario. I personally like being able to set up defensive parimeters, and order a brand new shiny tank to go blow stuff up with. I'm not crazy about the controls myself, the vehicles play a bit tight, and there doesn't seem to be much impact when you shoot someone (ie: no ragdoll physics). I'm unsure yet if I'll buy it, gonna play with some friends this week to see how it plays. Obviously GRAW is coming, so I'll also see how addicted I am to that, and either buy it or not based on the amount of time I'm putting in Meh-hee-ko. Don't trust the ahem - "scholars" who say this game "Sux!" Try it yourself. Its pretty fun. I'd give it a 8.4 based on the demo. Obviously won't know more until I play the retail version.

Another good post.  See people it's easy to do.
Just tone down that anger and think about what you're gonna say before you do it.  Glad to see you can still get some honest and rational opinions in these forums. ( from people who've actually played the game )  lol

I will never deny anyone their chance to lose.....

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
Posted this on 360Reloaded.com, so it has a bit of a summary which may not be needed, but I think it gives a good overview of what to expect.

Well, it is a multiplayer demo featuring one map in one game mode for 2-8 players split into 2 teams.

It sucks. Graphics aren't impressive, everything else is worse.

The mode features "HQs" and things like "Motor Pool" and "Radio Tower" areas. Goal is to get all of the spawn points (the above) or to get rid of your enemies reinforcement pool. Staying near an HQ or area will move the little control bar as usual.

Owning things like Motor Pools add to the things you can purchase for use on the field (Reinforcements, guns, air strikes, or tanks, in the case of a motor pool).

The game plays as a third person shooter but with the RTS element. I personally feel it is terrible.

The vehicles are ridiculously strong (a rocket tank which shoots rapid fire rockets for around 20 seconds before it overheats? A huge *** tank which takes 5 shots with an anti tank gun to kill ( An anti tank gun that dies in one shot from the tank, mind you, and in which you show with text over your name lol ).

Plus the 3 "hero" characters to choose from usually don't leave much of an option. Basically you are going to be close, far, or you are going to burn everything to *** with a flamethrower while tossing your *** accuracy machine gun out.

The balance is TERRIBLE and leaves much to be desired from a COMPETITIVE gamer. Casual gamers MIGHT enjoy it, however, if they aren't pissed off when dying in stupid ways (When an explosion hits near you while you have any kind of a bumb behind you it will say "Thrown to X's Death". Or falling/touching water in any instance=instant death. Sometimes it just plain says you got killed, with no reason why or by whom.

Anyways, did have a funny moment on the breakable bridges as I was hijacking a tank an air strike came in and blow up the bridge, killing me and my "squad" (group that follows you around and dies...and drives tanks I guess), and the other guy and his squad, as well as dropping the most expensive tank in the game into the river. Was cool.

It seems you really like the demo or really hate it.  I've played a about 4 games so far and haven't lost yet.  The game seems BFMC like where there are checkpoints you need to capture.  I really like the points/money feature.  You earn points by gaining checkpoints and kills.  You got to save up your points to buy a tank in this game.  I've never played a game like this before.  I think once people understand how to play this game it will be a success, unfortunately many gamers don't have the patience to learn new controls and strategies.  If it doesn't have Halo2 controls the game will flop, sad very sad.  People will say the graphics suck but for me graphics are not everything, if the game is fun thats what matters most.  This game will be fun, just give it time.  It is the first day its been out afterall....

I would buy this game at a reduced price.  There is just too many games coming out in March/April.  The developers should have waited till summer to release this I think.  So I'd give it 7/10

Good Post.   I think the majority of people wanted to jump in and play a kill fest and that's not the case. While there's a lot of chaos going on it's not deathmatch.  U can actually win a round in about 2 -3 min if your team knows what to do.  While graphics do make a game better, it's all about gameplay for me and how fun it is.

Yes I agree with you on that. I think this is the first new game/demo that's been released and a lot of people want that just jump in and kill everybody. Yes I agree it's the beginning and well it's been very slow these few months, but it's going to get better and I haven't played this game just yet. I will give it a try from what I hear it isn't a jump in a go so since I know that I'll give it a few tries. This to me seems like a new opportunity and game style for me to try out and well since most people are agitated that no new games have been released they hear about a new game and expect it to be like Unreal Tournament just all out kill and well the game did advertise it would be crazy I guess people had the wrong idea in there heads and well now it's out in a demo format and they can't handle they want to jump around a map with rocket launchers and blow the crap out of everything. To me I see this game like Lord said it's coming out at the wrong time maybe if it came out during May or after it would probably do some good since everyones all up and go for GRAW and Oblivion it's like they as I repeat myself again Kill everything in sight without having to do much work. And to quote on your other parts your right graphics do make the game better it makes you feel like your actually in the game with better graphics, but what you should lay down first is a great gameplay experiance then build upon that which most launch games did the opposite went for graphics first then came the gameplay. This game is not a flop on my books it's just "In the right place at the wrong time".

I found the demo to be incredibly fun.  I wasn't expecting anything going into it and was pleasantly suprised.  I think the haters were expecting a FPS honestly.  This is a great wargame, when you get a good team going it is an awsome time.  I went from probably not picking it up to most certainly will just from an hour with this demo.

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND

The demo actually reminded me a lot of the Star Wars Battlefront series with it's use of control points and third person perspective.  While the graphics aren't the best I've seen (or expect to see soon) I don't think they're as bad as some people have been saying.  The ground textures, in particular, are pretty nice.  The animations are a bit stiff though.  I think some people are just turned off by the style the developers chose for this subject matter - it's kind of a cartoony look.

It took me a little while to figure out the purchasing system and how it correlates to the various buildings you have to control, but I like it now that it's making sense!  The Outfit is really like a pseudo-RTS game from a third-person perspective.  I didn't understand what the D-pad controls were supposed to do and I thought the vehicle controls were a bit wonky and unintuitive too.  All in all, I'd probably rate this between 7-7.5 based on early impressions.

I'll probably end up getting the game as my son really enjoyed playing it with me split-screen - he loves sandbox type games (with bots) like Battlefront.

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND

I like the game, its not amazing or anything, its fun though.  1st few games it sucked, but once I got all the controls down and realized what to do it was a lot of fun.  Only problem is I usually take out all the enemies buildings, but the people who got kills and no buildings were the ones getting points for rankings.  Tip the flame thrower is great for taking out buildings.  I never played Battlefront or anything, so maybe there's better games out there I haven't tried.  This game is getting s4it on though, and it's actually not bad at all.

This will be a game that many love and many hate.  But the haters could learn something by actually taking it for what it is not what its not, and if they played it long enough to learn it and have some great close battles.

It's fun but with a game like GRAW about to come out this game is going to get overshadowed, and the fact that when you touch water you die really suck's I hope this will be fixed or has been fixed if not THQ really need's to consider a patch already for this game!

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
ABOUT THE WATER: When I went in the water and died I was like WTF that's not cool.  But the more I think about it, the more I've completely changed my mind.  The water is all part of the strategy.  Having limited routes makes it so that you will encounter the enemy along the route to hold-points and their base.  If we could go through the water you+enemy would not encounter and end up at eachother's base taking it down alone.  So I think of it more like what water did for a game like Starcraft, added strategy.  And since this is not a sim, it's ok, it's a good idea.

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
Here's the thing about the water... Everything is destructable in the game, so to make some areas more strategic (like blowing up bridges to prevent enemies from passing through an area), I think they made it so that you cannot cross the water. Then again. Could be err, developer laziness... who knew? Either way (and the same with the God-awful enemy animations) it doesn't fundamentally change the gameplay.. But that lag on a 4v4 game.. brutal.

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND
I personaly think this game was well done. The Axis get their Panther Tank, and teh Allies their uber artillary, so really, each team only needs to capture their respective structure. The graphics arent as bad as some people suggest. Sure, they arent what GRAW has to offer, but I say they are atleast a step up from PDZ. The game play in my opinion is fun, really fun. Most strategic game I've played yet on 360. Theres nothing like having 6 AT guns placed up in the Allies HQ, shelling down all at once down into the Axis controlled Motor Pool.My biggest issue with this game is the occasional lag. Some servers are better than others, and a majority of the matches I have played were lag free. But there were still some of those slow games. I also love the chaos this game brings to LIVE. This is the large scale warfare Ive been looking for in a game. As soon as you can figure out the gameplay mechanics, this game is awesome. I would definatly buy it. This game in my opinion is next gen. Its new, its different, and its fun. Who cares if the graphics arent the greatest. I'd have to say this game is worth its pricetag, and is very entertaining. After all, thats what games are for, competitive or casual, they are entertainment, and this game could be played both ways. There is huge potential for competitive play.If you are capable of getting an organized team together, theres alot of fun to be had. Team Work is key to having fun in this game, and if you cant accept that, your not going to have the same experience. This is probably teh first demo Ive ever played that actually made me want to buy the game and I would give it atleast 8/10 if not a 9/10

Graphics are nice on an HD, the game is real fun but it is hard to find a room that doesn't lag most rooms won't even let me connect but that probably just cause its a demo I hope. The game kinda gives me a vibe of BF2 Xbox, Game is all about teamwork you can't be an individual and do your own thing cause most likely you won't win. Oh man do I love sniping in this game hahaha.

id give it a 6 out of 10. vehicle movement sux and zoom control sux. the commands that u give ur troops are kinda sucky, and for some reason if u go in the water u automatically drown. wheres the air bubbles when u need them (if any of u can remember sonic the hedgehog for genesis)?

Re: FIRST IMPRESSION ALL WHO'VE PLAYED RESPOND

Hmm where do I start?

1) The graphics and FX don't even compare to some similiar Xbox games *cough Mercenaries cough* (inexcuseable IMO)

2) Water kills you...   WHAT????  Take us back to GTAIII why don't you!

3) Players move stiff and veeeeery sssloooooooooow.

4) Vehicle control is a joke. (running over a wheel barrel with a half track makes the half track spin out of control!?)

5) Players take waaaay to much damage before they die. (I ran a guy over with the half track 3 times in a row without killing him)

6) Buildings don't explode and blow up realisticly...   they kind of...  sink into the ground or crumble to large unrealistic chunks of...   stuff.

7) The cheep corny (Brute Force) one liners.    "hey bratha, you making me mad" lol

I could go on, but I'll just leave it at this...   The Outfit (with the small exception of online play) offers nothing that we havn't played over a year ago on the Xbox.

IMHO...   it's a step above Brute Force, and a few steps behind Mercenaries.  Thats sad.

Hes absolutely right. folks we have to boycott these garbage 360 games. sadly, the only game of yet that has impressed me graphically is fight night. full auto was ok. it would have been an awesome game (full auto) if the developers had leaned more towards a twisted metal syle of game instead of a poorer version of burnout 3 where ur weapons actually cause explosions. if anyone thinks that full auto was fun, imagine being a to cruise around in a wide open map, hide in a building, and have someone shoot a missile at that building and destroy you.
