I've been working on this tune for about 40 minutes now and i've probably ran about 30+ laps in this car and i'm very pleased with the results.I Tuned this car for Sebring International Raceway Club just because of how the turns were. This car was mad Fishtailing before i got the finished results.I run an average low 1:13 on this track with this ride.

First off before you tune this car run this car with the stock tune and then with the Tune.See how big of difference this car takes the turns now.

B700 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt SS Coupe

Nurburgring Tuned

Sorry it took me so long to post another tune.I've been working on this car for a few weeks now.I wanted to tune a car for Nurburgring that isn't thought of as a Nurburgring car.I am pleased with the results after tuning this car.I'm not that great at the "Ring" but i was able to pull a 8:25 lap with this thing.I'm sure in the hands of a better driver you could pull much faster times.

*note* you have to be gentle with this beast of a Cobalt if you just try to slam the gas in every turn you WILL get sideways.Test the car out a few times before you actually let loose with this car.I'll gaurantee you'll like it Big Smile [:D]

I just got wind to your site and tried out your 1969 Camaro Z28 Tune and my car controls so much better now THANK YOU!

I was actually about to eek out a little better acceleration and top speed from my own transmission tunes, but your handling tunes are great.

This is a great service you offer to those of us who aren't gear heads, much appreciated!

Tsukuba and Test Track Tuned

I was quite pleased with the outcome of this tune.I was stuck between a rock and a hard place one where to go with this car.I wasn't sure if i wanted speed or grip.So i decided to go with grip.I was very surprised in how well this car does at Tsukuba.I didn't get the chance to run it on the shorter track but i bet it would do well there also.I also Believe this car would do great at the Test Tracks.

This is my Tsukuba time with this car - 57.613

The crazy thing is i beat out my Elise 135R which surpirsed the heck out of me.

Tsukuba and Test Track Tuned

Tried it out last night...ran a 57.9 on Tsukuba, which blew my old lap time away by roughly 2 seconds!  The only thing I changed was the front/rear toe out.  The turn-in seemed a bit too over eager which was causing me some trouble lining myself up on straights, so I dialed it back to 0.1 degrees, and that seemed to do the trick.

What's odd is with my old tune, the four main stats show that it had slightly higher top speed (4.6 vs. 4.3), and much higher acceleration (5.7 vs. 4.2), while your tune was better at braking (5.3 vs. 5.8) and handling (5.0 vs. 5.7).  However, actually running a benchmark showed that your tune was only about 0.3s slower to 60mph than mine...which would hardly warrant a 1.5 acceleration stat discrepancy.  That was the reason I didn't take the Race transmission in my original tune, because (as is often the case) it reduces the acceleration and/or top speed stats, often by a pretty significant amount.  But apparently, adjusting the gear ratios can overcome much of that drawback.  I wonder...could you get better results by using the Street transmission so you don't take that stat hit, and then adjust only the final drive ratio?

I kind of wish the game was more like Forza 1 in the sense that when you tuned the car, it would actually be reflected in the car's stats...i.e., if you shortened the gear ratios, your acceleration stat would actually go up.  As it is, it makes it very difficult to evaluate and compare tuned cars now because essentially you can take your four main stats and throw them out the window...you basically need to run a benchmark on everything, and there's no easy way to compare benchmark results between cars.

But regardless...thanks for the tune, starfirebird...really nice work!

Re: Free Tunes by Starfirebird
Yes i agree with you on the Forza 1 thing it would help to know if your making progress instead of just checking back and forth with your benchmark.

I've always used a Racing Transmission in all my vehicles.I did try the sport Transmission once in my Nissan Silvia S15 and the results were bad. When i ran the car i was 2 seconds slower than i was when i was running a Racing Transmission.Just take a look at the gears when you buy a sport transmission and see how long that final gear is on most cars.no matter how short you set the final drive the car is going to be slower.

The key to me learning how to gear cars was to run every car as if it had a 5 speed Transmission instead of a 6 Speed.I use the 6th Gear as an Overdrive in my most recent tunes. If you check some of my earlier tunes you will see that i'm using too many gears too soon this was before i finally learned how to tune gears. When running your short to Medium tracks Less shifting equals less time loss. When you are spending time going through gears that are short you are actually losing close to .050 sec per Curve.I don't know if that # is exact but more shifting equals more time added to your laptime.

If it's cool with you guys i'll tune up a grip tuned charger.I can tune a Speed tuned car it's just the gear parts that get a little baffling sometimes.

Speaking of speed tunes cars, I re-tuned the Major Nelson Saleen that we got.The only thing i have left is the gears and it is a pain in the neck.

Sorry i didn't respond to you earlier PTI JOE i don't do U class cars but i do have a Tune for the Fairlady Z in S class that's pretty darn good.If you want that tune i can post it up for you.Just let me know man.

On the Maple vally track I got a 1:27:921 on the 700 Hp event in the Semi Pro and came around 35000th in the leaderboards. I did it in A class S 995. Is this good, considering most of the top in the leaderboards were all class U999?

I think maybe like over a million people probably raced that race so 35,000 really isn't that bad if you think of how people race it.

Which car did you use? Just curious.

Oh by the way When i get home today. After i play a few rounds at the Frisbee Golf Course i'm gonna post a few tunes up.I know it's been a while so i Apologize for that.

I used the MIME R34. I won it as a prize and is my favourite car. How about the lap time, is that good, average or bad?
I like a challenge...
... I only hate it when I can't solve it

well by just looking at it i can see it's 3 seconds faster than my A class NSX-R.I can't  remember exactly what the average laptime on that track is,but the lap time looks good to me.
