Details of the announcement along with a trailer--> http://news.teamxbox.com/xbox/19451/Battlefield-1943-Priced-First-Trailer-Released/

$15 for 3 maps is pretty steep considering you can get Bad Company for $20 new.

Gunstar Heroes and Cellfactor's achievement lists have just popped up.

Cellfactor was supposed to be out a while ago, so it should be coming out soon I'd think. I'm very excited for Gunstar Heroes.

Yeah, i wasn't sure if i read that correctly. I thought maybe they were just mentioning 3 of the maps. No doubt they will have a few downloadable maps to release a couple of weeks after it's release.

And...i had no idea we were getting Gunstar Heroes....i like TreasureBig Smile [:D]

Gunstar Heroes achievements seem kinda underwhelming, you can get them all just by completing the game IIRC. Still, it's an instabuy. Hopefully we'll be getting some more of the older Treasure games at some point too, like Dynamite Headdy and Radiant Silvergun. Wonder what's up with that original X360 shmup they developing, was it canceled or what?

What is with all of these 1200 price tags all of a sudden?

In today's economy, have some mercy.

I can't stand purchasing downloadable stuff for that price or anything higher, because once I download it, I can never trade it in.

800 points or lower I can generally part with...

I'd rather pay 800 points and then if the game is good, I'll be happy to get more DLC for a price.

They would sell much more copies if they did it that way (i.e. charge 800 and then add another 400 later and more DLC)
Virtual On is well worth it, but if they can do OutRun at 800, then they should have put this one at that price too.

Re: This Week's XBLA Game
Just markin this page for My Forums - I usually find what I'm looking for in the last thread, here's to another 81 pages without drama !!

As a comment, that is why I haven't splurged on a new retail game recently. I will buy pre-owned and if the game is good, I'll buy the DLC (and I'll pay about 60.00 for the game - sure I have to wait but that isn't THAT hard) The price for some of these games ranges between 70-100 USD and that is wayyyy too much. I can't tell you how many times I was boned on the original xbox with a sour game. Now it seems we are getting shafted with the great games too. I mean 30.00 in dlc is out of line (How many maps were on HALO, compaired to HALO3)...and I'm always ify on the 1200 games, because a lot of the 800 games sucked. To pay 15.00 and then be expected to shell out any more when DLC eventully comes is insulting. It better be a GREAT game if your going to charge me more, and 1200 point games are still lacking(Are you Smarter than a 5th grader). Now they are going to spread the DLC out over years (for retail games) so that intrest is sustained which bones us again because the used price will go down slower and by the time we get the game the online multiplayer will be crap (COD4). It's a shame that our freedoms in America are comming back to bite us in the butt because of these practices. No wonder Xbox sales are swelling, they are squeezing water from a rock....

I probably will buy Tooie though, at least with that I know what I'm going to get. Who is going to go out on a limb with a game that isn't established yet? (Flock) It doesn't matter what they say you get in a game, it can sound good and still suck. You don't know how long you are going to have fun with a game until you understand the game. (Pirates Vs. Ninja) Maybe more people would buy the 1200 point games if they laid out exactly what your getting and let you try it all out (We know MS doesn't like that ethic (No previews for primium themes?)) and these demos suck, I don't even download them anymore. But I should just to try and get it delisted and save an idiot from buying it. (Me)

Sorry for the rant, I'm done now :-)

Man imagine if its a HD Remix and this was the reason Super Street Fighter 2 HD Remix was delayed so long.

That would be pure awesomeness !!! ... and thinking about it, it's not impossible since the sprites quality in mvsc2 was way higher than the one from the original super street fighter 2.... more characters but less work per character.

Also why make such a surprise launch if it's 'just' to announce a simple port ?

Finally, in the excerpt from the interview linked some posts above, the overall animation although the image is blurry seems really smooth ....

Anyway a 'simple' port with hd support would already be great ..... i could almost sell my old dreamcast :)

You're only depriving yourself of great games if you refuse to try/buy ones priced above $10. Havn't tried Lode Runner myself, but I know Banjo, Castle Crashers, SF2HDR and more were worth the 1200 points.
