I also played the original scramble arcade game (showing my age now) and am happy to confirm that this version mirrors the original perfectly.

 

I remember regularly getting 300k + without losing a life (for my 10p) and walking away from the game.

 

It is a shame more people don't play it. Trying to get a versus game is nigh on impossible. It has taken me months to play 40+ games (still undefeated) and reach the top of the leaderboard. I don't think anybody else can be bothered and I don't really blame them.

 

That said, I regularly help people get their 30k co-op achievement which is fun, especially when the lag is really bad - which actually makes it quite tough sometimes.

 

Send me a friend request if you want a co-op game anytime - always happy to play. Make sure you are using your mic though, it is sometimes difficult to know whether to carry on after 30k or just die.

I also believe, this is an exact remake of the original. If someone believes otherwise, it may be due to the fact, that the original arcade machine had dipswitches, where the difficulty level could be changes, and perhaps someone played it in the 80s at an easier difficulty level.

Really enjoyed playing and completing the game. Finding a co-op partner..... needle and haystack anyone?

It took me back to my mis-spent youth in the 80's...... Ahh!!!! those were the days.

I've noted in the NZ forums how when we were playing these games when they first came out we used to dream of having all the machines linked together to see how we compared to other players across the world.

Now that we have this it great to replay these games and see how we compare.

Being a bit older and slower is offset by being a bit wiser I think.

thats odd as *** cause i got all the time pilot acheivements and found them much easier then playing this game
still cant beat level 4 half the time or level 5
