I quit boosting in this game at 70k hands and decided to do Yaris (1,000,000 coins) because at least with that game I could see when the end was near.  I'm almost done (just under 800k coins) and as soon as I get the achievement, it's back to Texas Hold 'em!  Got some unfinished business if you will.

Damn straight, I have the d-pad left button, right trigger, plus the A and B buttons all rubberbanded down.  It's a turbo controller, so I set A and B to turbo.  Since the buttons are held down, the basic idea is that is keeps pressing them and keeps playing the first level over and over.  The right trigger is held down so it will shoot, the game has a sort of autoaim characteristic to it, plus some destroyed enemies will drop coins.  The d-pad left button is used to try and stay the first level instead of going to the second.  I average about 50k coins per day.

Re: 70k and still going...

Last week I folded with an A♠-high flush. The flop was 4♠ 5♠ 6♠ 7♠ and two other guys went All-in.

The first guy had 3♠ and lost with a straight flush... the second guy had 8♠ and a better straight flush!

Good fold, but here I sit with my two royal flushes and still no straight flush...

Reminds me of yesterday, I was watching the World Poker Tour on TV and Gus Hansen went all in with 4 8 off-suit, the flop was 5 6 7 off-suit, but the other guy (I think it was Mike the Mouth) had 8 9!

Re: 70k and still going...

I finally got it!!!!!!!!!!  I was starting to think I would never get a Royal Flush.  Came home today and there it was.  My final hand count is 75,096.  I believe that puts me at second in the "most hands played without a royal flush" leaderboard, if there is such a horrible thing.  It took about 4-5 months of boosting about 7-12 hours per day, 5 days a week, mostly while I was at work.

Here some fun facts of my other hand counts for anyone interested: 19 Staight Flush, 114 Four of a Kind, 1893 Full House, 2243 Flush, 3378 Straight, 3464 Three of a Kind, 17205 Two Pair, 32556 Pair, 12854 High Card.

To answer the question about which turbo controller I use, here is a link: http://www.gameasylum.us/xb360hotuex3.html.  I think that site says it is back ordered, but you get the idea.  I bought mine on eBay.  Just do a search for Hori 360 Controller, but not the Fight Stick.  The official name is Hori Turbo EX.

Also, you apparently can do this with any controller, as long as it is wired or you have a play and charge kit so that it won't turn off.  I guess you just need to rubber band down the A button.  Never tried it, I know that with the turbo controller if you get disconnected it will start the game back up since hitting A is all that is needed to go from the main menu to a single player game.

Re: 70k and still going...

Ah, I know well what you mean.  Very recently completed Yaris, and I got the Pharaoh of the Two Lands achievement a while back.  The Hori Turbo EX worked perfectly for both.  You can also use it to get the Maniac achievement (15k points in Trottle Monkey mode) in Centipede of Centipede/Millipede.  Got that the first day I attempted it.

And yes, 200/200.  It feels good, I actually have nothing left in my "games to boost queue."  I don't know what to do, I just wrapped about six months of hardcore boosting.

Re: 70k and still going...

I got my first Royal Flush yesterday at a total hand count of 37,484 out of which the 21,491 latest hands were played online with two players. I can't believe it! It's going to feel so nice not having to turn on my 360 every day before I go to work and then turn it off before I go to bed now. I thought I would have to do that every day for the rest of my life in order to get a Royal Flush but I'm so happy it's over.  This is madness.

All I know is that the highest hand count all together that I've ever seen is number uno's (followed by some numbers that I have a hard time to remember) and he didn't have a Royal yet! Insane. I think he had about 100-200 something straights but no royal. Third place is not bad though. Here is your prize: Beer [B] Huge congrats! Wink [;)]

you just wrap a rubber band around your A button.

it's done in the Single player, 400$ (Free) buy in standard game.

erm only if you got really really lucky.... see basically you just call everything. it allows you to see many hands while you are at work/school/sleeping/etc. so since you're calling every hand in theory you will lose more than you win. but if you get really lucky you might come home and see you have a large chip stack.

anyone who has rubberbanded ever come home to a nice stack? ( i haven't done it yet )

Nope, I have played plenty of hands and just holding down 'A' doesn't yield good results in the long-run if you are looking to build up a bankroll.

well, technically you won't lose any money (since you're not paying for the buy-in) but you certainly won't gain any.

offtopic again how do you use the turbo controller for Luxor 2? do you just set it to Turbo A , and just take a few points here and there, or ?

Yeah, turbo A and leave your shooting thing in the center of the screen where it spawns.  I forget the level I did it on, I'll check later and post back.  The level I did it on was the one I found to give me the most points.

Like everyone else said, No I haven't either.  However, I did notice that the other players WILL have a nice stack in front of them after an all-nighter.  If you take over the controls, do a few all-ins, and then play logically, you could win a good chunk (if not all) of it back. Wink [;)]

I've also resorted to the rubberbanding.  I'm currently just over 21k.  Maybe we should make a Leaderboard for the Top 10. Smile [:)]

This isn't really true. Yes, the other AI players have a lot of cash at the end of night, but you will probably only have a little bit, and since its a free buy-in game with only $400 starting cash, its a long grind to try to get even a piece of what these other players have in front of them. The AI plays very tight usually, so if you go all in with your $400 cash, you are almost always beat pre-flop, and usually you have to get lucky to win. In reality its easier just to quit out of the game and go to a higher buy-in game than it is to try to steal back all that cash with a $400 short stack. The truth is, no matter how solid you play, with 7 other AI players at the table that play super tight, its nearly impossible to raise or go all-in with rags without getting called, and its even harder to win once you are called.

Very good points, IOO, and I agree.  It's just that I hated to see ALL that money go to waste.  So, like I said, I decided to take over, did a few good all-ins and won a good chuck of it back.  It's definately NOT the best way to built up your backroll, but the question was asked, "could it get you lots of money as well".  I was just showing that it was possible.

I wonder if the OP, adverse event, ever got his Royal Flush.  He was over 80k and counting. I may catch him yet, as I'm now at 31k and still climbing.

I did finally get it.  I don't remember what my hand count was when I got it.  I'll check next time I play hold'em and post and let you guys know.  I was A LOT more than anyone else had played before getting their first.
