Apparently, the site that supported the 'Terminal Hacking Assistant Tool' is no longer existent, so I will ask for an edit to remove that entire section from the guide. Thanks again for the heads up.

Re: Fallout 3 Guide to the Wasteland - Terminal Hacking TIP

Most have probably already figured this out, but just in case:

I don't get much time lately to just veg-out and play this game, and in my rush to get through some of these missions I discovered a good trick for hacking those damn terminals...

You get 3 free tries every time, right? But on your 4th try the terminal locks if you fail... so... I don't even bother trying to figure out the puzzle... I literally pick the 1st three choices on the list, and if none of them work then I just exit and re-enter the terminal. This resets the hack and gives me 3 more tries at a reset list of possible passwords, and then I just pick the 1st three again. At most it's taken me 5 or 6 resets, but even with that many tries I'm still cutting my time by at least half.

Yeah, I know... go ahead and give me hard time... I deserve it. But that particular mini-game is just so damn frustrating, especially since I'm so dyslexic (which affects 10 out of 3 Americans) and I like playing the game on the hardest setting. I just don’t have time to figure out which 3 letters of the 15 letter word I picked are correct. Ughhh! I’d rather deal with 15 Super-Mutants at once than try to hack another one of these terminals!

Re: Fallout 3 Guide to the Wasteland
I think I might be misunderstanding something in the guide. I just reached level 3 and I got the Intelligence Bobblehead so my Intelligence is at 4 and I'm ready to get the Education perk (lvl 4) and Comprehension (lvl 5) perks. What is confusing me is the guide tells you to do all this that i just mentioned and right afterwards to go defuse the bomb in Megaton. The thing is defusing requires 100 skill, how are we supposed to have 100skill at level 3-5? I think I might be missing something. I'm looking at a guide and it doesn't say anything about the bomb requiring 100skill of repair (i think it was). Am I missing something? Great guide by the way, its helped me so much.

If you take Mentats, your skill level will temporarily increase allowing you to have a high enough repair skill to defuse the bomb.

What you're missing is that the bomb takes a skill level of 25 in explosives to disarm, and nothing else.

Re: Fallout 3 Guide to the Wasteland

FYI, I just finished "You Gotta Shoot 'Em In The Head" and was surprised of a few things that weren't mentioned, particularly the way to complete it and get the power armour.

*  When you go to Dukov, you can speech challenge one of his girls and offer to escort her to Rivet City.  Doing so will increase your karma.

*  I did this mission after completing Tenpenny Tower.  After getting the three keys, I headed for Fort Constantine.  If you make it through the fort you will find the legendary T51b Power Armor.  When you get it, you will complete the quest.  If you return to Cowley after this he will be pissed and say that you took what was rightfully his.

If you can still get an edit for that section, http://hack-boy.com/ works the same as the other website (I assume, as I didn't see it).

And nice job, tagging this for later useBig Smile [:D]Yes [Y].

Funny. Dukov and his girls kept telling me how if I didn't put my firearm away he'd have to kill me and he's such a good shot. His head popped off easily enough, though, and so did the ladies. Seems now that they were more valuable alive.

Right. I was able to disarm it almost as soon I had first come to Megaton (I'm swamping the bogs in Point Lookout, now). I attributed all of my points at my first level up to explosives and it was a piece of cake. It's worthwhile, too, because when you disarm it you get "your Megaton Home" with a bid, a bot, several storage lockers. It's a good central place to come back to and stash your loot so you don't get over encumbered. You can go on a quest, return to Megaton, store what you want to keep and sell the rest to Walter, Moira or Moriarty. Then your set for your next quest.
