Re: Turn on your brain - Natal original game ideas
i think a timesplitters game would definitely be fun. you could act like ur holding a gun and point at the screen where u want to shoot. also i think shooters could work, not just side-scrollers and 2-d game... full 3d shooters like cod4 and halo. it would be challenging to accomplish a perfert control scheme, but im sure they could do it. but remember that they said natal can be used alongside the xbox controller so even if shooters didnt work well with natal, they could just be greatly improved!

I would love to see A mortal kombat game with the Natal.

Another Idea would be An Avatar Zone. Basically like a clubhouse for your avatar. You can decorate it however you want. Movie posters, walpaper, special furniture for your avatar, to go with the special props you would have.

I would also LOVE and I mean LOVE to see a Natal Version of "Black & White" Or one of those other kinds of Games. Black & white, Populous, etc

There should be in Natal a game like battlefield that will tech you before you play , pilot how to fly a helicopter. Imagine he possibilities . A tutorial that shows you how to fly rhe helicopter before you play the game. And it collects data on how well you are doing. How much experience. And at the same time it`s helping you learn to fly a helicopter. This would lead to a game that everyone would have a certain skill to there own choosing. Someone`s skill would actually be need to fly that plane, drive a vehicle ,or even man a turret. This would make a more realistic Experience. - ML KioncWarlord

Re: Turn on your brain - Natal original game ideas
I may be flamed for this but I think Natal will work on the hardcore games and all genres. I've been trying wrap my mind about how shooters might work or movement across long in-game distances since obviously there's just so much space between the gamer and the TV so I thought that perhaps some sort of sticks with analog sticks and a few buttons for both hands could be made. Natal as it is could never be compared to Sony's advanced wiimote because we have full body motion and voice recognition and the sticks would work for more subtle things like pulling the trigger of a gun and the thumb sticks would be camera and longer distance movement controls while while we can use our full body for things like swordfights, fistfights and so on. I'd really like to see a combination between body motion, voice and controller where body motion and voice alone can't suffice instead of giving up on the concept for the more serious games.

Not sure how original that may be and if it isn't sorry to dissapoint but that is the best I can think of for now. If I get better ideas I'll post them.

I think maybe a Yu-Gi-Oh game will be very nice!!!!With the Power of Natal they could made a Yu-Gi-Oh Online game that:

1)Scans our own decks(instead of using limited cards)

2)Play with our duel disks

3)Has super in game effects,so that the player will feel like he is in the anime!!!

Of course that would be too much(i know,i am such a dreamer...)

Another great anime idea would be a Naruto game!!!Think of the endless possibilities!!!Hand seals,Shurinken throw etc...Even a Dragonball z game would be great!!!Hand-based attacks, special beams etc...

There is nothing either good or bad,but thinking makes it so...

Anything horror like.
When your so focused on the screen, (keeping a close eye too every move) your bound to get a better scare than any game before.
Think this could take it to the next step. Hard to find new games that scare you.
How it would work i have no idea. But Im sure its possible.

What do you think?

Beside that, I think im looking most forward to figting games.

(still have my ultimate game idea for a horror game, but everyone thinks Jack Thompson would kill me. Haha)

Yeah imagine a first person horror game. You could be on a nice little spooky mansion up there on the hill. And you can use Natal to interact with the environment . That would be pretty sick. You could even add coop.

A flight simulator.  No, not simulating an airplane--i'm talking about simulating a BIRD.

How about a game where you play as an arsonist and set your house on fire?  The Natal would then respond by melting.

How about a Pretend-You-Know-How-to-Cook game?  You could set up your console in your empty kitchen and cook virtual food on the Xbox until your so hungry that you order out for pizza.

Of course, we'll be missing the real potential of this technology until somebody creates Peter North: The Game.

I'm sure the NATAL will work with First Person Shooters. It's easy. Tilt your head forward and back to walk forward and back. Twist your body to rotate the screen. And use your OWN golf club to melee the enemy!! Why so many people think the NATAL will not work? And Microsoft is trying ways to make the NATAL to work on older 360 Games!!! They are planning to use a programing feature to make NATAL compatible with older 360 games. But be warned, the controls are only going to be basic. Don't think the character will mimic your moves. It's actually reverse.. To play the older games with NATAL, YOU have to mimic the character. And don't try back flips in your living room! Anyway I would like a REAL mech game like GUNDAM, or Battle Tech. I don't know why Microsoft don't use Battle Tech. They have exclusivity with the liscense. I love the Battle Tech universe stories. Very Sci-Fi, very RPG (sigh)..

Yes except that with NATAL you'll be using your full body and since you'll be unable to see the real environment around you chances are that you'll run into things, break things and maybe hurt yourself. That would cause a lot of unwanted lawsuits for Microsoft.

This one may not be original, but a game where your character on screen is sprinting forward and trying to dodge many different things, IE: gun fire, fences, flying cows, etc. lol.  You would be jumping, rolling, crouching, going prone, and doing other movements too lol.

Re: Turn on your brain - Natal original game ideas

Will project Natal work seamlessly with the Live Network where multiplayer games thrive. How could the network handle Natal without lag. If everybody has such freedom with their avatars control won't that cause lag?

What I would like to see:

Freestyle fighting- Multiplayer over Live with 1-16 opponents. Speed of movement, technique and power of strikes is key in fighting and I’d like to know if Natal can handle the hand-speed of someone such as Floyd Mayweather Jr. If he were to spar with me over Live the hand-speed and his defense should be too much. I would like to know how far Natal could go in replicating a standard boxing match…would our avatars be too slow to keep up with our actual movements? I really would like to see Natal’s limits.

Create Online MMO’s and incorporate Natal technology- I want to fight and interact with people over Live using technology in a seamless online virtual world. In a medieval fantasy world, I want to see multiple enemies rushing at me on screen (all people using Natal technology to control their avatars). I want to swing a virtual sword and hold a virtual shield. I’d like to shoot virtual arrows with my virtual bow. I’d like to crouch in a virtual bush and ambush another player. Stabbing him with my virtual spear….Imagine the workout one could get from such an experience.

Imagine a game such as The Outfit using Natal technology. Voice commands- Turret here, Drop me a tank etc...all the while controlling your avatar as a soldier in the fight.

Natal sounds awesome and I'm certain the ideas people dream up are going to be crazy cool

Well I'm not a fan of Natal but I see potential in terms of RTS games. Take RUSE for instance. Swap the touch screen table (worth about €10,000 btw) with Natal or another type of motion sensor and you've got roughly the same experience minus the gigantic hole in your wallet.
Could also help open up RTS games for consoles that equal RTS on PCs.

Just allow us to add a $10 mouse to the 360 and RTS's are rollin.

I wonder if it would be possible to created a MMORPG on the xbox 360. If it is possible then I would like to see a FPS version of a game like World of Warcraft, Which would be kinda cool. I am a BIG fan of MMOs so it would also be cool to have more fantasy MMOs. I know it does not sound origianal, but it would be soooooooo cool to be able to PVP with you whole body and like dodge attacks and block them. I think that it would be soooooo damn cool to be able to shoot arrows, cast spells, and maybe even actually HAVE CONVERSATIONS WITH THE NPCs! the conversations with the NPCs is like a build off of milo. and I figure if sony can make a demo medieval battle sequence game with two friggin sticks, then it would be possible for it to be made with your whole body using natal.

Re: Turn on your brain - Natal original game ideas
Not exactly original, but I would make a competitive first person shooter. You would need a model gun, preferably with a trigger that can be sensed (it might have to be a wireless controller of some sort).

It would be best if you could have a 360 degree display, with a top and bottom as well, but it could work without it. The way you move without running into the TV would be that if you stand in front of the middle, your character moves forward, if you stand to the side, you move to the side. Then it also senses your position, and the direction your gun is pointing. IF you didn't have the whole screen set up, it would just have to work in a similar way to the movement. If you point to the edge of the screen, it turns your character, if you point at the middle area, it aims exactly where you point.

i want to be able to fight with swords/daggers (2handed swords), polearms, short staffs, spears, morning stars (various types), whips various types of clubs and different types of shields (forearm shield) and depending on the amount of gold/cash i win in these online battles i want to be able to dress my avatar up in different types of armour and weapons (for +'s and -'s skills). I would even like to take this a step further and have it play out like 1v100 where the two gladiators fight it out infront of a audience within a colosseum setting. those in the audience challenge each other for top rank. and the game would be in 3rd person not 1st.

i'd also like to see a monkeyball type game, the character thats within the ball controlls how the ball rolls by pushing forward with either foot to move forward (keep foot there to excellerate), pushing back with either foot to slow down or (keep foot there) stop. to move left or right you would simply push on the side of the ball with your left or right hand and you will move in that direction. to jump you would push both hands up to simulate pushing the ball up which would make you jump.

Allow more then 1 Avatar per account so my wife can play 1vs100 with her own Avatar!

One problem. Nobody can punch or kick THAT fast. lol. There are also countless other issues one would have with that in order to have a full-on, DragonBall experience, but I hope the day does come soon.

Now...as far as thinking outside the box. I'd like to see how RTS games could utilize Natal. Personally I'd love to command the Spartans and the UNSC armies in Halo Wars via Natal and tell them what to do, where to go, and what ideas to put forth. You'd get responses back like "We can't do that just yet commander!" or something else and you'd be able to feel at one with your army. Imagine if RTS went full-throttle with that idea; THAT I think, my friends, is what would help RTS truly flourish within its own genre with Natal in mind. Using your hands to place/order troops, and of course the already mentioned commands, tactics....the list can go on and on.

More applications of Milo where I'm speaking to an AI. Liiiiiiiiike CORTANA FROM HALO. I'm sorry but I'd love to 'talk' to Cortana outside of seeing her in the game and that'd be neat. Plus talking to a digital boy makes me think that he won't understand certain perspectives of where I'm coming from. I don't know the extent of what Milo's programming will entail, but I doubt a digital boy will understand what it means to come home from an extensive day of work to complain about incompetant co-workers. Just my take on it.

Also...Natal's video showed another gameshow with Avatar support (so it seemed) that was NOT 1 vs 100. I hope that wasn't fake, and I sure hope this means Microsoft plans on releasing more Live gameshows in Xbox Live format; people will start wanting to be on "Deal or No Deal" pretty soon and "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" or even "Jeopardy". Imagine the crowds THAT would bring in. Then that would also deal with the answer input changing on each game since 1 vs 100 relies on 3 answers with the inputs being  X, A, and B.

As long as the racing games allow me to actually turn the wheel/car as far as I am turning it compared to Mario Kart Wii (where the turning seems to stop not even halfway) I want to try those out, but holy crap doing Burnout Paradise on Project Natal on a daily basis? You'd get a rush doing just that. Better yet, imagine future Star Wars games pitting you inside of an X-Wing or TIE Fighter. If anyone has played the Star Wars Arcade game, they know how adrenaline-pumped you get by feeling you are Luke Skywalker in each act. And lightsaber battles? ohohoo....that would be fun. How it could be pulled off dynamically (instead of just standing in one spot in-game) escapes me right now but the idea is fun. At least to me.

One more idea just popped in my head: browsing the marketplace or any part of your Xbox. Let's say, for example, you heard about a new movie coming soon to DVD and you want to see if Live has it up on the marketplace. Say something like "Search: The Taking of Pelham 123" and you'd find search results instantly including options to rent the movie SD and HD. Or just in case you want to check up on your profile and make sure you don't have to renew your account for awhile; speak up and say "Review Account Info" and the device brings you to your info? See, LITTLE things like these I think would be neat as it's very futuristic and when I think of ideas like this.....I think of Tony Stark from Iron Man when he was audibly speaking with his computers.

See? Now whenever you think about Project Natal, think about Tony Stark, because he's cool. :D

When I first saw Natal I actually thought about a first person zombie escape game…

- You'd be stuck in a city and need to escape.
- No weapons, but you do have a flashlight that works by pointing your arm at, and around, the screen.
- You pick up items by just reaching out in front of you and clutching your fingers.
- You'd look around by slightly turning your head at different sides of the screen (I think this motion for looking will become commonplace in natal as many of us actually already do this unconsciously while playing FPS games.)
- To move, I imagined would require you to jog on the spot to run, bringing a real aspect of exhaustion into an survival horror game (although this won't be often, and a lot of the time you can simply walk around by just keeping one foot in front of you.)

Zombies would creep up on you from behind… you'd have large groups of zombies you'd need to run through… bosses that you'd need to defeat using the environment… I think it could be a completely fresh survival horror experience.

I'm imagining this to be one of those "release" titles when Natal comes out. And maybe once everyone's accustomed to the controls, a sequel could include more sophisticated aspects like weapons.

Gamesradar.com thought of an awesome Mirror's Edge-like Parkour experience.  Imagine running and jumping in real life, leaping off your couch etc.  You'd need a lot of room to play, but if they truly worked it out, it could be a great way to exercise and have fun.
